Second Chance romance. Sweet story. One of those Hallmark like romance. It's fun to listen to those from time to time. The narration was good, and I enjoyed it.

"Falling in Line" was a sweet second-chance romance that reunites Tucker and June, small-town sweethearts with a troubled past. Once destined for marriage, June ran away five years ago and never looked back, leaving Tucker heartbroken.

But now she's back to help her father after his surgery, and there's no way Tucker and June can avoid each other for the time she'll be home.

As they form an uneasy truce, the townspeople take sides, with some folks wanting to see Tucker and June get back together, and others fearing June will break Tucker's heart again.

While this was the second book in a series, it worked fine as a standalone. (I didn't even know there was an earlier book until I came to post my review.) So, if you enjoy small-town romances with second-chance lovers, you'll want to check out "Falling in Line."

Thank you to Kasey Stockton, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

I wasn’t sure at first if I would like this one, but it ended up being really cute and just the kind of book I needed. June and Tucker were once a couple, painfully went their separate ways and now June is back in town. I love the second chance romance plot line and this was very well done. This definitely makes for a sweet, summer read!

June is back in town to help look after her dad and finds that people in her small town are not happy with the way she left or how she treated her ex, Tucker. Tucker's heart has been broke by June and now that she's back in town, he's not letting her do it again. No matter how hard she tries to.

This book was cute although there wasn't much going on in it. i enjoyed it just well enough

"Falling in Line" is the second book in the Arcadia Creek series. It explores the complications of rekindling a past romance that ended in heartbreak. Tucker is a man with a shattered heart. Five years after being left behind by the woman he loved, he has managed to rebuild his life and find some semblance of peace. However, his world is turned upside down when June, the woman who broke his heart, returns to Arcadia Creek, claiming she is back for good. Despite her intentions, Tucker isn't ready to trust her again, leading to a rollercoaster of emotions and rekindled memories.

It brings a mix of humour and heartache to the forefront, exploring the complex dynamics of a second-chance romance. Kasey Stockton crafts an engaging story of Tucker, a man who has spent years recovering from heartbreak, only to have his past resurface when June reappears. The story revolves around his reluctance to trust her again, his internal conflict, and the unresolved feelings that linger.

Stockton's characters are well-drawn, with Tucker's skepticism and June's determination adding depth to the storyline. The narrative effectively captures the tension and the humour that arises from past relationships, offering a charming take on the second-chance romance trope. The dialogues are witty, and the settings evoke the small-town charm of Arcadia Creek, enhancing the romantic atmosphere.

The alternating narration by Cara Swingline and Evan Sibley gives life to the characters, providing a compelling listening experience. Their performances bring out the emotions and nuances in the story, enhancing the connection with the protagonists.

**Tropes/Themes:**
- Second-chance romance
- Small-town setting
- Heartbreak and healing
- Humor and witty banter
- Forgiveness and redemption

It is a heartfelt story of love, redemption, and the journey toward healing old wounds. Kasey Stockton's blend of humour and emotion makes this audiobook an enjoyable listen for fans of contemporary romance and second-chance love stories.

There are so many things I loved about this audiobook. Kasey Stockton is such a wonderful author, and what I love about her audiobooks is that I can listen to them even when my children around because they aren’t just enjoyable, but they are clean. I love the characters’ names she chooses, and I loved the small town feel I got from this book. Coming from a small town in the south myself, I could relate! The narrators did a good job.

Falling in Line was a cute second-chance smalltown romance. June and Tucker are high school sweethearts who broke up when June left town 5 years ago. Now that June's dad is having surgery and needs help, she is back for the first time. I found June selfish and annoying at times, but Tucker was an absolute sweetheart. I enjoyed the audiobook with two narrators, it makes it easier to connect to the characters. I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys romance books with no spice.

Thank you to Kasey Stockton, netgalley, and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this book in exchange for ah honest review.

Falling in line is a romance novel set in a small town in Texas. The main character, June, leaves town without telling anyone, including her fiancé Tucker and her father who is depressed. When she returns five years later, she expects to be forgiven without fully apologizing for her actions. This frustrated me a lot. I also found June to be problematic and unlikeable.

While I appreciated the character development and small-town charm throughout the story, I found it unrealistic that June and Tucker were unable to communicate about their problems, especially given their long history together. I wish the author had taken more time exploring the characters' development and communication further.

Also, Tucker's character could benefit from further development beyond his relationship with June. He would be a much better character if there was more emphasis on Tucker's own goals and aspirations outside of his relationship with June, it could provide a more well-rounded portrayal of his character.

I found June's casual apology to Tucker to be frustrating as it did not convey the gravity of her actions; June's self-centered attitude and tendency to get upset with other characters, such as Maddie, who had only been kind to her, made her unlikeable.

Despite these issues, I appreciate the positive aspects of the story and hope the author can further explore character development and communication in future books.

As far as the audiobook goes, the narration of the story lacked a Texan accent which may detract from the story experience for some readers. Other than that I think it was good.

The Narrators for this book did an amazing job!!! I think they made this book even better then if I were to read it in my head. They truly knocked it out of the park! The book itself was really great as well! If I was reading it on paper form I would have struggled a little bit with the writing style. however the I really enjoyed the story! It kept me entertained and wanting to know what happened next. over all I really enjoyed this book!

June stayed away from Arcadia Creek for 5 years after breaking Tucker’s heart. Now she has returned to help her dad recover from surgery. She’s unsure if the town and Tucker will welcome her back. June realizes that leaving the way she did may not have been the best plan. She makes it her mission to earn the town’s trust and win Tucker back. Tucker is not as keen on letting June back into his life, but old feelings keep creeping back in.

This was a sweet romance of second chances. Narrated by Cara Swingline and Evan Sibley. The dual voicing brings this story to life. The two capture the angst and longing of the characters.

Everything about this book felt like a comforting hug. It's lighthearted, relatable, cozy, and it's got that familiarity and nostalgia that comes with second chance romance! I've been reading tons of second chance romance lately, but nothing beats the magnetic pull and homey vibes of small towns.

The banter and conversations in this book were so meaningful and stayed with me long after I put it down. I mean, who doesn't love a bunch of nosy, well-meaning neighbors? When it comes to second chance, I sometimes get frustrated when there's no reason for the MCs first break up, but this one just makes sense. I love how beautifully their vulnerability and insecurities were expressed on paper. The guilt, the heartache, self-doubt, the attraction and the acceptance all made this such a wholesome read.

I haven't read anything by this author before, but I'm definitely intrigued by this world she's created and these mesmerizing characters, so I'm going to read more of her works for sure!

June and Tucker. Second chance, slow burn, small town romance. This one is for all the girlies who have felt like outsiders.

When June returns home to help her dad recover from his surgery, she finds herself oddly unwelcome. And though at some level she feels that she deserves it, it hurts her deeply to feel alienated in her home town. It doesn’t help at all that her ex now lives next door, and seems to be willing to do anything to keep her out of his life for good. This sweet, dual POV romance follows June and Tucker as they navigate old feelings, new experiences, and plenty of small town gossip on the way to their happily ever after. (Featuring exactly two scraped knees, a fireman vs lineman rivalry, and one quilting bee… 👀)

Honestly, everything about this book was cozy. As a second chance romance, it’s unsurprising that forgiveness is one of the themes, but I felt really moved by how Kasey Stockton deftly navigated the sticky and uncomfortable parts of learning to ask for and extend forgiveness. I really enjoyed it, even though some parts really hit a little too close to home for me. 😅

Overall, this was a really sweet story. And if you love second chance romance, you’ll want to make sure you read this one!

I'm so glad I can actually enjoy audiobooks now, otherwise I would have missed out on this great book!

I loved this story. I already know listening to it through an audiobook will not be enough, and that I'll have to own a physical copy.

Some books just stay with you, regardless of when you read them. That's how this book is for me. I enjoyed it so much.

Audiobooks are a hit or miss because even if you love the story, the way it's narrated can alter your feelings for it.

Thankfully I didn't have any issues. The audio was great, and I can't wait to own the physical copy so I can annotate it to my hearts content while listening to the audiobook.

I would absolutely recommend not only the audio, but the story in general.

RATING: 2/5
GENRE: Romance, Small Town
TROPE: Second Chance Romance
SPICE: NA

"Falling in Line" by Kasey Stockton delves into the intricacies of small-town romance, capturing the essence of southern charm and the complexities of familial bonds. At the heart of the narrative is June, a character grappling with her past and the fear of repeating it.

June's decision to leave Arcardia Creek, stemmed from a deep-seated fear of abandonment, mirroring her mother's departure years earlier. Ironically, her departure echoed the very act she sought to avoid, leaving her father and fiancé, Tucker, behind. As June's father undergoes knee surgery, she finds herself compelled to return to her hometown after four years away.

Back in the familiar embrace of her town, June's journey unfolds as she confronts her past and reconciles with her loved ones. Her return not only reignites her relationship with her father but also sparks a rekindling of feelings with Tucker, her ex-fiancé. As June navigates the intricacies of love and forgiveness, she rediscovers the profound connection she shares with her hometown, ultimately finding solace and a sense of belonging in the place she once feared to call home.

While "Falling in Line" captures the small-town romance essence, I found the narrator for Tucker's to be quite awful. His voice felt forced and dry, making it hard to connect with his character. Additionally, while the novel portrays the charm of a small southern town, I felt the innocence portrayed was overly saccharine. I wished for more depth in character interactions and dialogue befitting adults, as the novel fell short in this aspect for me.
