I read and requested this audiobook for the context of giving dating advice, not getting! Happily married in a 6 year relationship!

This book was quick & good. I will say it’s geared towards people who identify as women. It dives into the meet cute expectation, how annoying being told to “get out there can be”, but then also being told to rest and wait for the right person, etc. This audiobook reads like a podcast, which I love! The narrator is fiery and passionate. It can come across a little ranty but as is the topic of the book. The author mentions dating experts and their “red flags”, toxic starts being the exception — not the rule, and more.

I love that she brought up the double standard of men vs women in “unsuccessful” relationships. You don’t need someone who “made all the pain worth it.” We also do not need to fix men for free!

All good info for being so short!

I will be reading her book about adult friendships! That is advice I need.😆

Feel normal for being normal! Great advise and loved the narrator’s voice. Will be reading more by Moore.

As someone who's been single for a while... a lot of these stories resonated with me. I'm a little tired as the single person being told "it'll happen when you least expect it", "you need to hurry, the clocks ticking". Or any other cliche thing a partnered person wants me to know. Being told by the dating coaches about how I need to heal myself and be ready for someone - because everyone one there fixed themselves before they met their partners - right? I'm not jaded.... but this short book made me feel normal and human and rethink these cliches. I loved the audio and listening to it, it felt like a friend talking to me, it also felt a little like a podcast. Really grateful to have the opportunity to read this. Thank you!

I loved this audiobook! I found myself relating to it on a level I wasn't expecting. It was laugh out loud funny at times and made me look at the way I'm navigating my own life as someone single in my 30s. I loved the fact it listened more like a podcast rather than a traditional audiobook. Lane Moore has a captivating personality that really drew me in. I plan on listening to her other audiobooks because of this one.

I also appreciated that it was short, sweet, and to the point. Often times, I find that non-fiction books / audiobooks can be filled with fluff that make me zone out after a period of time. This one held my attention the entire time.

I’m usually not huge into non-fiction, but I’m so glad I took a chance because I absolutely loved this audiobook!

I really enjoyed Lane's take on modern dating. It takes some pressure off for those of us in my age group that are still single. she's been an author that has been highly recommended by one of my best friends and I can see why. While the contents of this book/audiobook are not necessarily anything groundbreaking, I think it's something that my generation needs to hear.
