This is a beautiful coffee table book full of high quality, crisp images. There’s some very familiar pieces of art, such as Spoonbridge and Cherry. There was a large variety of types of art ask well — architecture, sculptures, murals, installations. The art didn’t focus on the United States, but spanned Canada and Central and South America as well, showcasing art that the average viewer might be less familiar with and art that I wanted to know more about. Sometimes, that was an issue, as I wanted more about the art. A blurb or a quote of some sort, not just identification. But this is really a book about viewing art and how it interacts with and/or contrasts with the place it is in. Beautiful book full of high quality art to consume.
