What a sweet and powerful story about healing hearts that eventually lead to friendship then love.
This novel was so very good that it was unputdownable.
These are characters that will grab your heart and never let go until the end.
Will's story will melt your hearts. So will Anna's.
I fell in love with this community of friends and family.
I didn't want to leave this wonderful town.
I have to appreciate that this author has done a fantabulous job with the subject of grief and how it can hit you at anytime and anywhere you least expect it.
I didn't like Dr. Watts. I thought he was a pig so to speak ugh. His wife in my opinion wasn't much better.
My heart went out to Anna at times. The secret she held within ate away at her because she didn't tell anyone for the longest time.
Will I wanted to shake him because he had a good thing in front of him but was too blind to see it.
Secrets are a terrible terrible burden to bear. It's never a good thing because they can eat away at you.
They do have a way of slipping out for sure and certain.
Be sure to read the author's notes at the end.
The cover is simply gorgeous.
5 stars for a wonderful story. I highly recommend
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own

Their Shattered Hearts is the story of two lost wounded souls who are struggling in despair. By Angie Cole, this story begins as one of anger and dealing with grief. After three years ago losing his beloved wife, Will Deluca has not moved very far through the stages of grief. His children are suffering but trying to move on better than their father. Anna Samuels moves to Cardinal Creek, Texas after suffering her own huge share of loss along with a painful breakup. While there is an attraction between these two, there is also a lot of baggage. This is only added to as Anna begins work at the hospital.

The new-to-me author has written a story of hope but it takes a while to get to that place for the characters. Thank goodness they have a community that stands beside of them. In fact, that is one of my take ways from this story. The family and friends were so supportive that they would not have made it individually or together without them.

An authentic look at loss, grieving and recovery so that the characters can thrive and not just survive.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I just finished reading this book!! I loved it. It’s a love story about family, friendship, love and overcoming grief. I couldn’t put it down. It will keep you engaged waiting to see what happens next. My son has High Functioning Asperger’s so it really hit home for me. I really enjoyed the storyline and how Ms. Cole developed her characters. Can’t wait to read her next book.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The premise of the story is strong, and it is written with a heavy hand of anger and grief. However, the writing style was not for me. I found conversations forced and inauthentic, erratic and inconsistent. I could not force myself through 10+ hour reading time.

This book had me at the blurb. I felt like this was a book I needed to read. I'm so glad I did. This book is powerfully emotional. The characters are in need of some healing. They both have both experienced a lot of of loss. Will doesn't know how to handle it all on top of the responsibilities he has. He has a lot of anger in him. Anna is in need of a fresh start desperately for her soul. What she experienced no one should. Cardinal Creek has left good memories of her youth and the perfect spot for a fresh start. She is the breath of fresh air that the Deluca family needed. She brings a healing touch to them. The bond she instantly creates with Will's son warmed my heart. This book pulls all the emotions out of the reader. I had tears in my eyes a few times. The Deluca family and their friends have dealt with the loss of Will's wife and the trauma that follows a devastating loss. Secrets have been a heavy burden for a lot of characters to carry. Now is the time to heal from it all. It's not going to be an easy road, but one so worth it. Then my heart goes out to Anna because life isn't quite done testing her. Though she learns that she is not alone and has so many wonderful people in her corner. This is such a beautiful read! I'm looking forward to the second book in the series.
