Dark. Twisty...and twisted. Suspenseful.

Broken marriages, a terrible accident, secrets and lies. A chaotic chain of events lead us to a calculated game of cat and mouse. But throughout the entire book it's not entirely clear who is the cat, who is the mouse, and what exactly is the end game. The Unraveling is my first Vi Keeland book & I must say I'd definitely read more of her work in the future. I loved the fast pace, the writing, and the unpredictability of not knowing what was going to happen next. Dual timelines & subplots kept it from getting repetitive or stale. 4 stars. Thank you to Atria/Emily Bestler Books and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I have been reading Vi Keeland’s romance novels for years and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her first thriller novel! The book was well written and the pacing was steady. I did figure out one of the twist, but there was another one that I didn’t anticipate. If you’re new to the thriller genre I think this book would be a great starting point!

OMG!! What a book. WOW. This is the first book I have read from this author, a true psychological thriller. So if you read the blurb, Meredith is our main character, a psychiatrist. It goes from now to then at least halfway through the book. Basically she was very happily married to Connor, a professional ice hockey player but after a major accident all things went downhill. Eventually he died in a car accident killing a women and her child. But without giving away any spoilers not all is what it seems. She, Meredith is obsessed with Gabriel, husband and father to the two who were killed. All of a sudden halfway through the book Gabriel comes to see her as a patient. Meredith is in a quandary. She is very attracted to him. Also she gets another new patient, a young woman named Rebecca. All this eventually ties together. The ending is truly mind blowing. I truly cannot get over the ending. I received this ARC from net galley and the publisher for an honest review. Thanks again NetGalley. This was terrific and I highly recommend this book hence the 5 stars. A must read. The end will blow one away!!

This book follows Meredith a psychiatrist in New York City. Meredith experiences a great loss and because of it gets thrown into a world of grief, deception, and stalking. Yes you read that right…stalking.

Everyone is losing their minds over this book and I'll admit it was compelling and hard to put down but it was a little hard for me to buy into the idea that someone smart enough to complete medical school and become a psychiatrist would operate so foolishly at times. It just required a greater suspension of disbelief than I was capable of but it was very interesting and I did gobble it up in a few sittings.

Thank you to the publisher for gifting me a copy. It is my pleasure to write an honest review.

Obsession, dark secrets, paranoia.

OMG! This book grips you from the very first page until the final paragraph - THAT ENDING. I'm sorry, what!? So unexpected that my jaw literally dropped. I was hooked on this book and quite literally read it in one day. I love a good stalker book and this one definitely delivered.

Meet Meredith, a psychiatrist whose world is shattered by her husband's tragic death under mysterious circumstances. Struggling with her grief, Meredith finds herself involved in an obsession that just might push her to the brink. I felt like the author did a great job making the reader feel the raw and real emotions that the MC was experiencing after her loss; not being able to cope with professional and private aspects of her life. This book was just as it should be, and I loved it.

I am a sucker for psychology/psychiatrist thrillers, and I was completely absorbed in this one! The story expertly shifts between past and present, slowly unveiling the chilling backstory that influences Meredith's risky choices. Get ready for a pulse-pounding journey that will leave you deliciously paranoid and breathless!

5 stars!

This was my first book by the author and I was shocked to learn that this was her first thriller! Before switching to reading more romance, I was primarily a thriller reader and consider myself quite an expert (lol this title was given to me by me). I thought this thriller was very well written and had me holding my breath and sitting on the edge of my seat! I didn't love the female main character and struggled to sympathize at ALL with her, which I get might have been the point to a degree, but even the worst characters I like to find something that makes me feel for them.

Regardless I really enjoyed this and will be deep diving into the author's other books.

Wow! That was a crazy ride! Meredith just keeps messing up everything. I can't believe what I just read! This book had me hooked, and I didn't expect the twist. Actually I didn't expect everything. Feels like I am dumbfounded right now!

I'm not sure if I'm into psychological thrillers, but I love how this story surprises me. It's a great read! Yep truly UNRAVELING

For her introduction into the thriller genre, I think it’s safe to say Vi Keeland has knocked it out of the park.

The plot and characters were interesting (let’s talk about Meredith’s poor choices that were driven by emotional trauma!) with twists that forced you to pay attention and stay engaged. The last sentence of the book had me picking my jaw up off the floor! Talk about a twist!

I’m hoping Ms. Keeland dips her toe in this genre more often!

This is only my second Vi Keeland book, so I'm not as familiar with her writing. Based on the last book I read, I was expecting a steamy romance - so I was quite surprised that I was reading a thriller with some steamy scenes. I don't know if the premise of this book is how most of her other books are, so I feel like my review is really a shot in the dark.

Overall, I liked the story. It was a quick read and I felt like some (not all) of the plot points were pretty realistic. I struggled with feeling any sort of empathy towards Meredith. As a protagonist, she's not easy to like. However, I also understand that someone dealing with that much grief might not always make the best choices. The ending gave me very strong "You" vibes and definitely leaves readers wondering how Gabriel will proceed. This would make a great beach read.

Thank you to Netgalley and for a copy of The Unraveling. I did, in fact, become unraveled during the reading.

Y’all. This book. Holy cannoli was I hooked from the very beginning. I cannot wait for the release in July so everyone can read this epitome of romantic suspense. I need more thrillers from her asap (apparently this is the author’s first and I am just in awe) 👏🏼

Psychiatrist Meredith McCall is reeling from the loss of her husband - not just his death but those that he killed in the process. One fell swoop of fate (or is it?) leads her down a dangerous road of obsession…but will she be able to escape its pull?

The depth of characters portrayed, twists and turns, and fast paced intrigue left me turning the pages late at night. Don’t miss this one!

I have read many books by Vi Keeland and I have liked many of her books. She mostly writes romances so this was her first mystery thriller.

Meredith's life has turned upside down due to an accident but it's not just Meredith's life which changed. There's this another person who has lost more than her but one time she sees him happy and healthy and wonders how he has moved on but she can't. That leads to a series of events that will keep you glued to your seat.

I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns in the book but I had figured out most of the book at the start itself as one by one few characters are introduced. It was too easy to figure out who was who as soon as character came into the story but then I think I have so many thrillers that it has been easy for me lately.

What I disliked is how Meredith was so stupid even after being a psychiatrist. I really find dumb women repulsive, taking one after the other idiotic decisions, so I ignored her and her decisions. She couldn't stop from blaming herself for the accident but I felt that she was responsible too. And her constant need for validation was so unlike a professional, that it was very unreal.

Gregory was what I believed he was, this has some Verity vibes. And even when I knew what was in the end, I couldn't stop myself from looking Gregory, there was definitely something charismatic about him. More than just his looks. I think that makes a bit stupid too.

Overall I liked the story, it is well paced. Definitely recommend it for mystery thriller readers. Thank you Netgalley and atria books for the wonderful ARC in exchange of an honest review.

The premise of this book was quite interesting and a big thanks to Atria for inviting me to review this title. I might not have picked it up on my own, but it is safe to say that I enjoyed it a whole lot.

The psychological aspect of it is so well done. We can really feel for ourselves how our protagonist is going down that downward spiral. The obsession, the thrill, the wanting to know what happens next...it set my heart beating madly.

A really well-written thriller. Would recommend to both beginners and those who generally read in this genre.

Vi Keeland is one of my go-to authors. I will read anything she writes. I am a romance reader at heart, but recently, I have become a fan of psychological thrillers, so when I heard this was coming - I knew I had to read it. And I read it in 2 days. I woke up in the middle of the night (thank you, menopause), but that's okay - I had a great book waiting for me.
When I read a thriller, I want to read and try and figure out the twist, but every time I thought I knew what was going on - boom, something happened that threw me off.
Vi Keeland thrilled me until the very last page, the very last sentence, and I can't stop thinking about this book!
I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on this book because it's definitely one of the best thrillers I have read this year (and in the top five of all thrillers).

Vi Keeland has always been one of my favorite authors, and even though I’m not usually a big thriller person, I really enjoyed this one! it gave me everything I needed for a thriller and had me on the edge of my seat from the first page.

I love Vi Keeland. She is such a good author. This was a great book that kept me entertained through the very whole thing.

I love Vi Keeland’s writing and was so excited to get an ARC of The Unraveling. It was riveting I couldn’t put it down. There were some questionable work practices but it is such an interesting concept. Meredith McCall is a psychiatrist who has gone through a very difficult time in her personal life we watch her become unhinged and she spirals, all while still seeing patients. The twists were great and that ending…I have so many questions!!!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC!
