Love Unscripted is a cute little book about a Hollywood Badboy and a small town author who fall for eachother via the fake dating trope.
Plot:
Liam's reputation needs fixing. The gossip columns have dragged him through the mud yet again with rumour after rumour not that all of them are true. He's just landed a role playing the hero of a romance bestseller and the book's author is not too happy about this casting because she doesn't want his tainted reputation tarnishing her hero.
Chloe is the aforementioned author. When she actually meets Liam after some not so nice words about the casting, sparks fly between them but not before the Studio hatches a plan to benefit both. Liam and Chloe will fake date to clean up his rakish reputation whilst Chloe can elevate her social profile for her next book.
Cue the usual forced proximity, getting to know each other, misunderstandings and one hell of a public scandal. The book is cute enough to keep you entertained throughout whilst the narrator does an excellent job with all the voices none of which seem contrite.
A good audio choice for cute romance fans.
Side note there is no spice in this book. Its clean.
Thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins publishing for an audiocopy of this book.

I was so excited to be able to listen to Love Unscripted as an ARC. The book and the reading were both amazing. I could not put this one down.

Very sweet and clean romance between small town girl & author Chloe Anderson and Hollywood star Liam Hamilton. Both had a hard time trusting others so it was a somewhat bumpy ride for their relationship. Perfect ending though and the setting was wonderful too!

I read and listened to the audio book and really enjoyed it. Kathleen McInerney is one of my favorite narrators so the time listening went by fast!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was a very predictable plot and ending. Miscommunication, fake celebrity dating, and broken family backgrounds. A true Hallmark movie plot. Thani you to Netgalley for the advanced audiobook.

Love, Unscripted was the first book that I had the pleasure of reading by author, Denise Hunter. The alluring cover drew me in initially but as soon as I started listening to the audiobook I was hooked. Love, Scripted was set in a small southern town called Stillwater in the state of North Carolina. Stillwater was the kind of town where everyone knew one another and gossip traveled fast. I enjoyed Denise Hunter’s writing style and her choice of characters that made their appearances in Love, Unscripted. The audiobook was very well narrated by Kathleen McInerney. She made it easy for me to visualize the story as it unfolded before my eyes.

Chloe Anderson had grown up and lived in Stillwater, North Carolina her whole life. Her mom, stepdad and brother also lived there. Chloe’s mom owned a restaurant in town that Chloe and her brother helped run. Fairly recently, Chloe had authored her first book. It was a romance and it had sold pretty well. The idea for the book came to Chloe shortly after she experienced a pretty bad breakup. Chloe used the book to create a prototype for the perfect boyfriend. The book had sold well and was now being made into a movie. Chloe knew that careful consideration had to be given to the selection of which actors and actresses were to be chosen to play the characters in her book. Each role had to be casted well to make that character believable. The role of the boyfriend was probably the most crucial role in the entire movie. Whoever was chosen to play that part had to fit with the characteristics that Chloe had created for him. The one actor Chloe definitely did not want to play that role was Liam Hamilton. Although Liam Hamilton was a good actor, very popular and quite handsome, he was completely wrong for that role in Chloe’s mind. Liam Hamilton was a womanizer, a player, everything that her character was not. As Chloe was telling these thoughts to her best friend in her bookshop that she owned, Chloe received a phone call from the producer of the movie. Chloe’s worst scenario was about to come to fruition. The producer of the movie informed Chloe that Liam Hamilton had been cast as the leading role in the movie. Chloe was angry, frustrated and disappointed. She let the producer know her feelings loud and clear. Little had Chloe realized that the producer had her on speakerphone and that Liam Hamilton had heard most of her irate comments. Although Chloe had meant everything that she said she was also embarrassed that Liam Hamilton had heard her voice them loud and clear.

A few days later, about a week before production of the movie was scheduled to begin, Liam arrived in Stillwater. Liam’s reputation had begun to affect his ratings and popularity. He and his agent had devised a plan to help rectify it. The plan hinged on Chloe buying into it, though. When Liam spotted Chloe by a clothing store, he approached her. Chloe immediately apologized to Liam for her behavior on the phone. Liam suggested that they make a deal to “fake date” while the movie was being filmed. His agent believed that if Liam’s fans believed that Liam was in a committed relationship with such a wholesome woman as Chloe Anderson, his ratings would soar again. This arrangement might even help Chloe’s social media status. Chloe and Liam decided to give it a chance. What would happen? Could they pull “fake dating” off? Would Liam do the movie justice in his role of the “perfect boyfriend? What would Liam and Chloe learn through the process?

Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter was humorous, sad, romantic and even downright frustrating at times. I really enjoyed both the characters of Chloe and Liam. I felt myself rooting for them. Certain topics were explored in Love, Unscripted. They included a dependency on alcohol to make troubles disappear, divorce, abandonment, bigotry, the need for communication and trust in a relationship, the act of forgiveness, being in denial of the truth, the importance of family and following the heart. I have come to enjoy books that are set in the south and permeate all the charm that the south brings with it. Love, Unscripted was a book that touched my emotions. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of Love, Unscripted and recommend it highly.

Thank you to HarperCollins Christian Publishing/Thomas Nelson Fiction for allowing me to listen to the audiobook of Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

It is a clean read with a happy ending and a second couple that get their happy ending. I adored this couple they were super cute. It does have a miscommunication trope, but it was very well done. I wasn’t annoyed with it like I usually am with that truth so I highly recommend it if someone wants a cute, non-spicy rum this is a Hallmark kind of book #adorable

“the perfect boyfriend only exists on paper… doesn’t he?”⁣

chloe’s romance novel has the perfect book boyfriend. when liam is cast in the movie adaptation, she has doubts he’ll truly bring the character to life, given his less-than-stellar reputation. ⁣

to complicate matters further, when he travels to her small hometown to prepare for filming, they run into each other—and a photo of that awkward moment sparks the idea for a mutually-beneficial pr relationship.⁣

i love a good fake-dating romance, and love, unscripted from @deniseahunter @tnzfiction does not disappoint. it’s a lot of fun—with plenty of humorous and heartwarming moments to swoon over—as the pair spends time together on and off set, and chloe really begins to see who liam is behind his public persona.⁣

if you need a good contemporary-romance beach read, pick this one up.

This is the second book I’ve listened to by this author. I enjoyed the book and especially the narrator. Her voice is very easy to listen to. She made the main characters come to life. The story was enjoyable. It’s the perfect book to put in your beach bag for the summer vacation.

Thank you Net Galley and Publisher for advanced reading of this audiobook. This could be a Hallmark movie. An author’s book is becoming a movie being filmed in her small hometown. Narrator does a good job putting you right into the book.

Funnily enough, the premise of this book is that an author writes a romance book that gets made into a movie, and that’s exactly how I picture this book: a cute chick-flick romance with the right mix of cheesy and sweet. Although slightly predictable , it hit the feels that a Christian romance novel should.
I enjoyed going through Chloe and Liam’s story of growth and (of course) misunderstandings as they made their way to their HEA. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a very good closed door romance. I enjoyed characters and the friendship to romance between a small town woman and a movie star. Also the plot addressed issues people have that sometimes interfere in relationships. I listed to it on audio and enjoyed the narrator. Overall, I think this was a great read or listen. I'd say definitely give it a try.

This is my first book by this author and I am so glad I finally had the chance to read her book. I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook version of this story. I loved the two main characters and the blend of author/celebrity romance with small town vibes. The connections and moments felt authentic and relatable. I was impressed when they first had a miscommunication moment how they actually talked through it, though the next big conflict was a little ugh after that because they had just agreed to talk things out. For that I give it a 4.5-star rating instead of a full five stars. I see why the author took it in that direction though, and I did appreciate the growth that both main characters experience in the end. I thought it was a super sweet romance and read and recommend it. I will be picking up more books by this author. I also enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook.
I received an advance listening copy of this novel from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Really lovely romance novel. Good characters, interesting plot, manages to be romantic without being saccharine. I will definitely be reading more of this author's work.

It feels like this book has been written numerous times from different perspectives. Faking dating a celebrity. Fall in love. Misunderstanding. It was Hallmarkish.

Thank you to NetGalley as well as Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audiobook..

Super super cute read. I would rate more of 4.5 stars because it does have a few issues, but I rounded up because I really enjoyed the book. The characters were well developed, and their relationship made sense. Their lack of communication was frustrating at times, but it did make sense why they were so hesitant to trust each other. They both were understanding of the other issues and background and their relationship progressed nicely. This was a very clean and wholesome book as well. I listened to this book as an audiobook and was so invested in the story that I listened to the book in one day and ended up staying up half the night. The narrator did a great job. My only critique would be that this book is dual POV but only has the one narrator. I would have liked if there was a male narrator giving the males POV, but the narrator did the best she could to change her voice so we could tell whose POV it was. Overall, I would recommend this as a fun cute romance that has you rooting for all the characters.

This was a very fun & fast beach read. The narrator, Kathleen McInerney, does such a great job narrating the characters. She gives each charter enough change in her voice, that you know it is another character. Chloe Anderson has written a romance book with the perfect boyfriend that everyone is swoon worthy over. Chloe‘s book gets picked up to be a movie and the last person she can imagine to play the role of the perfect boyfriend happens to be who they cast. Liam Hamilton has gotten very bad publicity with his dating in the gossip magazines. Chloe decides she will go ahead and work with Liam to make this movie. This book is the perfect enemies to lovers trope set in a very clean, wholesome setting, think Hallmark movie. It’s a great book to take your mind off your own worries for a few hours.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I listened to it on audio and it was SO GOOD! I loved the characters and the storyline was beautiful! It reminded me of the Disney Movie "Starstruck." Chloe Anderson is a writer and her book turns into a movie. Liam Hamilton is a movie star who is not who everyone thinks he but that is a good thing. Chloe and Liam end up in a PR relationship when they start working on her book being turned into a movie. Once into the story, you learn about both of their family backgrounds. The audio narrator does such an amazing job with telling the story! It made me feel like I was really in Stillwater, North Carolina! As you get further into the story, you start to see Chloe and Liam's real feelings for each other. Will they stay a couple? Will they break up? Will he leave after the movie is finished? You need to read this amazing book to find out!

I just finished this audiobook and well, I couldn't concentrate on anything but listening to the story! I loved it! I really loved the Hollywood Bad Boy vs Good Southern Girl! The characters were well fleshed out and I followed the storyline completely! The narrator was amazing and helped the story move along! Enjoy!

Thanks to NetGalley! All opinions are my own.

What a great story about self discoveries, forgiveness and trust. Trusting someone to love who you are, learning that you are enough and forgiving the past and hurt they’ve experienced…. This was such a wonderful story!

For my booksta friends who love smut, this isnt one of them. This was more gentle and sweet with some cute funny moments! I think my favourite part was the epic kiss in the rain. I hate being in the rain myself, but that scene was picture perfect! Until…. 🤪 go read it to find out!

Ok… now this is a first for me, but the narrator was sort of robotic when reading and for me it was quite distracting :( and I kept thinking why does she talk like a robot? That was definitely something that bothered me. But maybe it’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

But the book was great! I would definitely try another Denise Hunter book again as this was my first book by her.
