Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book!
What can I say that hasn't already been said?
Just wow! Nora Robersts does it again!
Just incredible.
I don't hesitate to recommend!

A seamless continuation of gothic mystery, romance, and supernatural suspense.
After the cliffhanger ending of The Inheritance, I was thrilled to see that The Mirror picks up immediately where book one left off. Reading these back-to-back is a true joy—there’s not a single missed beat or moment of disorientation. The story flows effortlessly into a deeper, more layered exploration of the brides, the curse, and the mirror that binds them all.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of Nora Roberts’ style is her ability to center each volume in a trilogy around a specific character and couple, while still expanding the community and narrative threads that began in book one. She builds emotional continuity and thematic depth without sacrificing the intimacy of each installment. At the same time, she foreshadows and entices with hints of what may unfold in book three.
This is plotting and planning at a masterful level—each book holds its own distinct place in the trilogy, yet the reader is constantly invited to pay attention to the gothic mystery and paranormal elements that ripple through the entire arc. The Mirror deepens the lore, sharpens the stakes, and reminds us why Nora Roberts remains a go-to for supernatural romance with heart and atmosphere.
I can't wait for Book Three to publish so I see if my predictions, and suspicions, are moving me in the right direction!
Thank you to Nora Roberts, NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me. The above review is my own thoughts and reflect my personal reading of the book.

This story was perfect coming into the "spooky season!"
Sonya Mactavish inherits a house from an uncle she didn't know she had, and minutes inside, she's not sure she wants it! The ghosts are mostly gentle hauntings, but one is pure evil, and she's the one making the most noise. Her dreams show her glimpses of the house's past, and one by one she finds portraits of brides hidden throughout the house. Learning that each died on or near their wedding day, Sonya begins to investigate, and discovers that the evil ghost trying to scare her away is the witch who cursed her family, and returns every night to re-enact the past. She killed each bride and stole their wedding ring. Six brides, six generations. She only needs the 7th to make the curse permanent. Can Sonya stop her before she meets the fate of her ancestors?
The imagination this story took! From Clover, who plays the perfect song for every occasion as her way to communicate, to the little boy who comes out to play ball with Sonya's dog, to the former chambermaid who keeps the beds made and dishes washed, each ghost has a purpose that keeps the house running smoothly.
I can't wait to read the final installment! The Seven Rings completes the trilogy and I'm thinking I'll need to read it during daylight hours! Readers who like their romance with a strong helping of ghostly magic, should start with The Inheritance, and move on to The Mirror. I read The Mirror first and have the final book ready to go. I'm gearing up for the shivers! I listened to the audio version of The Mirror and it was gripping - like watching a spooky movie!

I was hesitant to keep going with this trilogy after forcing myself through Inheritance. But, I decided to give it a shot since I figured if there's going to be a third book, maybe book 2 would be a bit more intriguing than book 1. Unfortunately, I was wrong and am officially giving up the series. I can see why a lot of people enjoy it, but it is just too incredibly slow for me, and I just don't find myself wanting to pick up the book anymore.

This is book two in The Lost Bride Trilogy, which has been such an incredible journey and I can't recommend it enough (although you might want to wait until all three are available to binge read it!)
A haunted mansion, murdered brides, and an epic curse will lure you into this story. I love a book that keeps me guessing while throwing twists in along the way. I enjoyed it the most in audio format, as it helps you immerse yourself into the drama.

I think I enjoyed The Mirror even more than The Inheritance. The story progressed nicely and I fell even more in love with the characters, living and dead. This series is absolutely my favorite Nora Roberts' series!

The Mirror by Nora Roberts is creepy, twisty and completely addictive! Roberts blends suspense, romance and just a bit of the supernatural. You definitely need to read Inheritance, the first book in the Lost Bride Trilogy first. Some of the pacing dragged in the middle, and a few twists felt a bit on-the-nose, but the final third had me glued to the page. It ends in a cliff-hanger of course because it is book 2 out of a trilogy, but it is dark, romantic, a little haunted and absolutely worth the read!

I am new to her books, so I had to read the first book before this one, but I love them both and look forward to reading more books by her.

I received a digital arc from the publisher via Netgalley though all thoughts are my own. Every time I pick up a book by Nora Roberts, I know that I am in for a treat and this book didn't disappoint.
This sequel to the Lost Bride Trilogy drew me in from start to finish and found myself finishing this book in just a couple of days because I needed to know what would happen next.
I have grown very fond of Cleo, Sonya, Mooky, Yoda, Pye, Owen, Trey, the Groomsmen of the Lost Brides and most of the Lost Brides except for Patricia considering the actions that she took when faced with her identical twin grandsons.
I love the closeness that Cleo and Sonya have who are more like Sisters than cousins and are a force to be reckoned with.
I also love how Owen and Trey bring their own form of a bond and are quick to offer protection to those they care about but also don't try to stifle especially when it comes to Cleo and Sonya because they realized that it would be a no go for both of the women if they even attempted.
Full of mystery, some steam, the power of love, tragic loss, and liberal dashes of the paranormal, I highly recommend this series and any books that Nora has written because I have yet to be disappointed by any of her books.
Trigger warnings: death, murder, suicide, difficult childbirth, death of mother due to complications from childbirth, some violence, adoption, family member with dementia

Really enjoyed the second book in this series. I’m looking forward to the conclusion in the next book. Loving these characters.

Great read. This is the 2nd book of Roberts Lost Bride series. In the first novel, "Inheritance" Sonya has inherited a mansion in Maine with a curse. You will love the characters and the mirror is an integral part of the story. The supernatural events make this romantic mystery story so fun and intriguing. I cannot wait for the final book!

Book 2 of The Lost Bride trilogy goes a little deeper into the mystery of why the brides were killed, however it doesn't give us much. I did enjoy the first book for the most part but the second one has me scratching my head. Normally with Roberts' trilogies I am intrigued from beginning to end, and I can't get enough. I am not sure what is going on with this series, but I am sorry to say this one just didn't hit the mark. I could almost say that this one wasn't needed at all. Yes there are more doors slamming, mirror treks, and angry witch rants, but that's it. I believe if this hadn't been marketed as suspenseful (and don't get me started on the almost non-existent romance) I would have enjoyed it more. But I wanted the paranormal suspense - and the romance - and I didn't get much.
Please go into this one if you want gutsy female friendships and enjoy watching these women go after their dreams. A few bumps in the night might give you some entertainment as well. Way too many repeated scenes and boring romance, though, left me feeling glum.

In THE MIRROR, the incomparable Nora Roberts breathes fresh life into a haunted house holding secrets threatening the life and sanity of new owner Sonya MacTavish. The strange events and weird feelings she cannot ignore draw her to delve into the past tragedies and horrors. I had a hard time reading this story late at night because Roberts' writing is so vivid and convincing, I felt like I was side by side with a young woman refusing to let the past rule the present. A remarkable, fast-paced read. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased opinions.

I loved this book! So far I've really enjoyed both books in the Lost Brides trilogy. The characters in the story are so entertaining! I really want a ghost dj! Now i can't wait for the next book in the series to come out in November 2025! Brittany Pressley does a great job on the narration.
Thank you to Netgalley, Macmillan Audio and Nora Roberts for the ARC that I received in exchange for my honest review.

3.75! I was more entertained by this one I think than the first. I almost wish it was a little bit scarier? But I liked it & am ready for November to see how this ends.

As usual, Nora knocks it out of the ballpark! I've literally never disliked a single NR book and this trilogy is in my top 5 faves!

This was a great read, from a great author! I loved the story, it was interesting and entertaining! The characters were well done, and I connected with them! I would recommend this book to everyone!

I absolutely loved this second captivating installment in The Lost Bride trilogy! It completely exceeded my expectations and kept me thoroughly engaged from beginning to end.
This remarkable book masterfully blends fascinating historical elements, heart-pounding thrills, compelling modern drama, intriguing mystery, and enchanting fantasy into a seamless narrative that's impossible to put down.
After the jaw-dropping and exciting conclusion of "Inheritance" (the first book in the series), "The Mirror" picks up the narrative threads and continues the story perfectly, developing the characters and plot in ways that feel both surprising and inevitable.
The atmospheric story unfolds at the hauntingly beautiful Lost Brides Manor, a place shrouded in darkness where seven unfortunate brides mysteriously died shortly after their wedding days. Throughout the book, the well-developed characters form unexpected alliances and work together resourcefully to unravel and break this centuries-old curse that hangs over the manor like a persistent shadow.
The narrative constantly evolves with unexpected twists and emotional developments, creating layers of complexity that make it incredibly enjoyable and deeply satisfying to read! I found myself completely immersed in this world.
My sincere thanks to NetGalley and St Martin Press for providing the ARC ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I recently read The Mirror by Nora Roberts. This is part of The Lost Bride Trilogy and a follow up to The Inheritance. In this volume we continue to follow Sonya and her best friend, Cleo. Sonya finds a mirror with strange properties. As she steps through the mirror Sonya is transported to the manor's past. She becomes a witness to the horrific deeds of the evil Hobbs. This gives the reader not only some new characters, but also insight as to why the curse on the Poole family was ever placed.
This was a very pleasant story, with the revelations slowly unfolding. Rich in details, developing our caring for the characters, this is typical Nora Roberts. The series would make a great summer read.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the always generous St. Martin's Press, for the review company.

Book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy is spectacular! As Sonya gets settled in the Victorian mansion that she inherits more of its history and the family of her father's past is revealed. It's gruesome and intriguing. With the help of Cleo, Trey and Owen they will go through a myriad of discoveries. So looking forward to Book 3!
