A Captivating Journey Through Time and Mystery! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nora Roberts has done it again! The Mirror, the second installment in the Lost Bride Trilogy, is a mesmerizing blend of romance, suspense, and the supernatural that kept me utterly spellbound from beginning to end. Roberts masterfully weaves a haunting atmosphere around the inherited Victorian mansion, making the unexplained occurrences feel both eerie and intriguing.
Sonya MacTavish is a compelling protagonist, strong and independent yet vulnerable as she grapples with the strange happenings in her new home. The introduction of the antique mirror as a portal to the past is a brilliant plot device, allowing for a thrilling exploration of a centuries-old curse and a tragic, recurring murder.
The vivid descriptions of the past and the unfolding mystery of the murdered bride are captivating. Roberts expertly builds suspense, dropping tantalizing clues that kept me guessing at every turn. The romantic elements, which are a hallmark of her work, are seamlessly integrated into the narrative, adding another layer of emotional depth.
The Mirror is a page-turner that will grip you with its intriguing premise, well-developed characters, and Roberts' signature storytelling prowess. If you enjoyed the first book in the trilogy, or if you're a fan of romantic suspense with a touch of the paranormal, this is an absolute must-read! I'm already eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the Lost Bride Trilogy!

I’m a true lover of Nora Roberts' books—especially when she leans into the paranormal—and Book 2 of the Lost Bride Trilogy does not disappoint! A portal to the past, a chilling murder, and dark family secrets come together to tell a haunting tale that kept me turning pages late into the night. Roberts weaves romance and suspense effortlessly, and the supernatural elements only heighten the emotional stakes. What a wonderful trilogy!

Nora Roberts can be depended on for many things. Annual releases, a trilogy that encompasses a romantic relationship, great friendships, and an animal companion. Recently, a more paranormal/fantastical facet that brings some originality to the story.
Unfortunately, perhaps due to being the middle book of a series, this book just didn't hold me captive. I'm hoping to find the final book in the trilogy to be engaging - and give the Poole Brides the ending they deserve. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Book two in The Lost Bride Trilogy continues the story of an inherited haunted mansion with a mirror into the past, with more details emerging of the tragic past brides and the curse that needs to be broken. Characters, plot, and setting are riveting, and I eagerly anticipate the conclusion!

Being back at the mansion with Sonya MacTavish, her best friend, their beaux, and the mansion's many, many ghosts is a treat. At the end of The Lost Bride, Sonya travels to the past with her cousin and sees the murder of the bride on her wedding day. Something that will repeat itself many times over as Sonya uncovers portraits of dead brides, their stories, and the culprit. Intent on breaking the centuries-old curse, Sonya will stop at nothing to ensure that the mansion remains hers and that every cursed bride gets to rest in peace, not in terror, as her evil resident intends. It is a crazy roller coaster ride with hilarious ghosts, a scary murderer, and a kickass heroine that I can't wait to see again on the final installment of the Trilogy.

I need more stars! This was amazing, absolutely amazing! I love how each bride's story unfolds & fits into the main story. I could not put this down & I cannot wait for the next one.

In this book, the characters delve deeper into the mystical elements introduced in the first novel, with the titular mirror serving as a crucial symbol of reflection and discovery. Roberts' rich descriptions and well-developed characters draw readers into a world where past and present collide, revealing hidden truths and desires.
The romance is both passionate and poignant, showcasing Roberts' signature ability to create chemistry between her characters. The suspense builds as secrets are uncovered, propelling the narrative forward and keeping readers on the edge of their seats.
Overall, "The Mirror" is a beautifully crafted story that not only progresses the overarching narrative of the trilogy but also stands on its own as a compelling read. Fans of romance and fantasy will find much to love in this enchanting tale.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.
I had such high hopes for this book, I was slightly disappointed. I felt it kind of boring.
I love Nora Roberts book and this will not deter me from reading her books. This was just not for me.T

The Mirror by Nora Roberts is book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy. Ms Roberts is a masterful writer and she immediately draws you in from the first few pages. The book features a house haunted by its past, including a mirror that features prominently in that. This book is not for someone who scares easily. Don’t read it late at night or you might not fall asleep easily. Good novel overall. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Not a lot happens in this book. I appreciate the backstory of each bride but there was SO much mundane, day to day, “feed the dogs and cook dinner” filler.

I give this book 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.
I DEVOURED Inheritance and I was so excited to read this book. Unfortunately, it just didn’t capture my attention the way the first in the series did.
The plot dragged A LOT. There was so much of the friend group just making dinner or hanging out and, unfortunately, it didn’t add much to the plot. There was so much practicing for the subplot of the presentation for Ryder and it just didn’t really move the plot along. There was so much exposition about making the boat and the dog house and the mermaid painting, and maybe those things will become more important in the next book, but they just dragged the plot along so slowly. Also, this huge party they were planning? I fully expected Dobbs to be out in full force… and nothing???
I started an ARC book on October 13, 2024, got about 40% of the way through and totally lost interest until a few weeks ago when I realized I still hadn’t given a review on NetGalley. I had to get the audiobook from the library and listen on 2x speed to make it through the rest.
I will say once I got to around 50% and she started going through the mirror and seeing things more frequently I was interested again. I’m sure I’ll at least give the next one a try. I’d like to know the conclusion, I just hope the next one doesn’t drag so much.

The main character has witnessed the murder of seven brides. She inherits a house on the coast of main and brings her best friend to live with her. Little does she know the house is holding a secret. Ghosts this book is very believable and makes you shocked to know how it ends

The tales of the brides continues to unfold- it's so interesting to go back and forth between the present time of Sonya, the past ages of the bride, and even the glimpses of Sonya's dad in the middle. No one makes paranormal in the present day a possibility like Nora.
I received an e-galley from the publisher through NetGalley,

I am new to Nora Robert’s fandom. Very new. Hi, I am kicking myself for this. How is it that every book I’ve read about Nora I am finding myself so intrigued and hooked. This series are so good! I can’t wait to see how it ends! Perfect for a not so scary Halloween read. Sometimes sequels fall in the dreaded -notasgoodasfirst- hole. Is not a bad thing it’s just we need that background to learn more where the story is going. Definilety slower paced but liked learning about he other brides.

This was a great story! I thought that the characters were very engaging. The story was so clever. I just loved reading it, I couldn't put it down!

I will always be a fan of Nora’s but especially of her PNR. They always hit the spot. The Lost Bride Trilogy has the most wonderful of characters and the most charming setting! I love the strong friendships and sense of community.
More and more of the mystery of the Poole brides is being unraveled as Sonya and Owen are traveling into the mirror, viewing the past deaths of each bride. Sonya is given a new clue about the rings and Hester’s escapades grow darker and more dangerous.
I don’t want to spoil anything but this series is one that I think every fan should read!
My thanks to St. Martin's Press for this gifted copy!

Nora Roberts has a way of crafting deep, compelling personalities that keep you invested. 💜 This installment started off slowly for me, and unfortunately, it never fully picked up the pace. However, the characters absolutely stole my heart! Even though this one wasn’t my favorite, I’m still eager to see how the story concludes in book three!
Thank you, NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and Nora Roberts, for the ARC!

As a lifelong (okay, since I was 16, I wasn’t reading Nora as a toddler 😂), this series might be my favorite of hers. Because old houses and romance and murderous ghosts? SIGN ME UP. I will always be in awe of how the author structures her books to give us more and more tension as the series progresses. Though I can’t say I’m thrilled about the cliffhanger…
I can’t wait for book 3!
I received an advance copy from the publisher, all opinions are my own, and a review was not required.

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan for this advanced reader’s copy.
This is the second book in the Lost Bride trilogy and it picked right up where book 1 ended. It had been a while since I read book 1 and I would have appreciated a little refresher, maybe a prologue or something.
There are a number of things I like about Nora Roberts’ writing, but my favorite is the way she writes her characters. Everyone has a unique voice and personality and all her characters are multidimensional, and that is definitely true about the characters in The Mirror.
I enjoyed the pace and revelations of this book. I was disappointed, but not surprised, that it ends in another cliffhanger. Of course I look forward to the last of the trilogy.

Nora Roberts’ The Mirror is the second installment in the Lost Bride Trilogy, continuing the haunting narrative that intertwines romance, mystery, and the supernatural. Set against the backdrop of a Victorian mansion on the Maine coast, the novel delves deeper into the enigmatic history of the Poole family and the spectral brides who met tragic fates within its walls.
Sonya MacTavish, having inherited the sprawling Victorian estate known as Lost Bride Manor, becomes increasingly entangled in its dark past. Sonya’s discovery of an antique mirror serves as a portal to the past, allowing her to witness the tragic events that befell these women. The Mirror is a continuation of the Lost Bride Trilogy, showcasing Nora Roberts’ talent for weaving together romance, mystery, and the supernatural. I am eagerly anticipating the trilogy’s conclusion!
