I received a digital arc from the publisher via Netgalley though all thoughts are my own. Every time I pick up a book by Nora Roberts, I know that I am in for a treat and this book didn't disappoint.

This sequel to the Lost Bride Trilogy drew me in from start to finish and found myself finishing this book in just a couple of days because I needed to know what would happen next.

I have grown very fond of Cleo, Sonya, Mooky, Yoda, Pye, Owen, Trey, the Groomsmen of the Lost Brides and most of the Lost Brides except for Patricia considering the actions that she took when faced with her identical twin grandsons.

I love the closeness that Cleo and Sonya have who are more like Sisters than cousins and are a force to be reckoned with.

I also love how Owen and Trey bring their own form of a bond and are quick to offer protection to those they care about but also don't try to stifle especially when it comes to Cleo and Sonya because they realized that it would be a no go for both of the women if they even attempted.

Full of mystery, some steam, the power of love, tragic loss, and liberal dashes of the paranormal, I highly recommend this series and any books that Nora has written because I have yet to be disappointed by any of her books.

Trigger warnings: death, murder, suicide, difficult childbirth, death of mother due to complications from childbirth, some violence, adoption, family member with dementia

Really enjoyed the second book in this series. I’m looking forward to the conclusion in the next book. Loving these characters.

Great read. This is the 2nd book of Roberts Lost Bride series. In the first novel, "Inheritance" Sonya has inherited a mansion in Maine with a curse. You will love the characters and the mirror is an integral part of the story. The supernatural events make this romantic mystery story so fun and intriguing. I cannot wait for the final book!

Book 2 of The Lost Bride trilogy goes a little deeper into the mystery of why the brides were killed, however it doesn't give us much. I did enjoy the first book for the most part but the second one has me scratching my head. Normally with Roberts' trilogies I am intrigued from beginning to end, and I can't get enough. I am not sure what is going on with this series, but I am sorry to say this one just didn't hit the mark. I could almost say that this one wasn't needed at all. Yes there are more doors slamming, mirror treks, and angry witch rants, but that's it. I believe if this hadn't been marketed as suspenseful (and don't get me started on the almost non-existent romance) I would have enjoyed it more. But I wanted the paranormal suspense - and the romance - and I didn't get much.

Please go into this one if you want gutsy female friendships and enjoy watching these women go after their dreams. A few bumps in the night might give you some entertainment as well. Way too many repeated scenes and boring romance, though, left me feeling glum.

In THE MIRROR, the incomparable Nora Roberts breathes fresh life into a haunted house holding secrets threatening the life and sanity of new owner Sonya MacTavish. The strange events and weird feelings she cannot ignore draw her to delve into the past tragedies and horrors. I had a hard time reading this story late at night because Roberts' writing is so vivid and convincing, I felt like I was side by side with a young woman refusing to let the past rule the present. A remarkable, fast-paced read. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased opinions.

I loved this book! So far I've really enjoyed both books in the Lost Brides trilogy. The characters in the story are so entertaining! I really want a ghost dj! Now i can't wait for the next book in the series to come out in November 2025! Brittany Pressley does a great job on the narration.

Thank you to Netgalley, Macmillan Audio and Nora Roberts for the ARC that I received in exchange for my honest review.

3.75! I was more entertained by this one I think than the first. I almost wish it was a little bit scarier? But I liked it & am ready for November to see how this ends.

As usual, Nora knocks it out of the ballpark! I've literally never disliked a single NR book and this trilogy is in my top 5 faves!

I absolutely loved this second captivating installment in The Lost Bride trilogy! It completely exceeded my expectations and kept me thoroughly engaged from beginning to end.

This remarkable book masterfully blends fascinating historical elements, heart-pounding thrills, compelling modern drama, intriguing mystery, and enchanting fantasy into a seamless narrative that's impossible to put down.

After the jaw-dropping and exciting conclusion of "Inheritance" (the first book in the series), "The Mirror" picks up the narrative threads and continues the story perfectly, developing the characters and plot in ways that feel both surprising and inevitable.

The atmospheric story unfolds at the hauntingly beautiful Lost Brides Manor, a place shrouded in darkness where seven unfortunate brides mysteriously died shortly after their wedding days. Throughout the book, the well-developed characters form unexpected alliances and work together resourcefully to unravel and break this centuries-old curse that hangs over the manor like a persistent shadow.

The narrative constantly evolves with unexpected twists and emotional developments, creating layers of complexity that make it incredibly enjoyable and deeply satisfying to read! I found myself completely immersed in this world.

My sincere thanks to NetGalley and St Martin Press for providing the ARC ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I recently read The Mirror by Nora Roberts. This is part of The Lost Bride Trilogy and a follow up to The Inheritance. In this volume we continue to follow Sonya and her best friend, Cleo. Sonya finds a mirror with strange properties. As she steps through the mirror Sonya is transported to the manor's past. She becomes a witness to the horrific deeds of the evil Hobbs. This gives the reader not only some new characters, but also insight as to why the curse on the Poole family was ever placed.

This was a very pleasant story, with the revelations slowly unfolding. Rich in details, developing our caring for the characters, this is typical Nora Roberts. The series would make a great summer read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the always generous St. Martin's Press, for the review company.

Book 2 in the Lost Bride Trilogy is spectacular! As Sonya gets settled in the Victorian mansion that she inherits more of its history and the family of her father's past is revealed. It's gruesome and intriguing. With the help of Cleo, Trey and Owen they will go through a myriad of discoveries. So looking forward to Book 3!

This series is making me fall in love with Nora Roberts all over again.
I am ashamed to admit it has been a few years since I read an NR book, but I am BACK and cannot wait for Book 3.

In this second book of The Lost Brides trilogy, The Mirror connects Sonya and Owen to the past. They are drawn to the mirror just like her dad and their uncle were. It is amazing how they can see things in the mirror and what else amazes me is how Nora Roberts thinks of these things! Wow! So many things happening at the mansion! You just can't put this down! Can't wait for the last book to see how they get rid of Hester Dobbs!

While I absolutely was obsessed with the first book in this series, I didn’t love this one as much, which was sad. I will however, still eagerly anticipate the third and final installment in the series.

This book seemed to rehash the events in the first book, and then talk a lot about mundane day to day tasks. It didn’t really progress the story much, which I am anxiously looking forward to.

The best part of the story was the dogs, and cat. More of them please!

I am still a huge Nora Robert’s fan, and I can’t wait for the next one. That ending. 🫣

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Nora Roberts, the author and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am attached to this story. And what is happening at the end is crazy. I find myself loving all of the characters (well except for Brandon) and I want to know if he will be popping up in the next book too. Move on dude.

However, I’m so excited I have the 3rd book in NetGalley now. I usually read my arcs in order of publication but the next one for this is getting bumped forward so I can get the ending of this sooner.

I enjoyed this book. I started it the minute I finished Inheritance - Book 1. I can't wait till November to read book 2. I enjoyed reading more about the 7 brides and also how Sonya and Cleo were learning more about the house they were living in. I don't usually read many books with ghosts but I enjoyed the ride on these 2 books. I am a fan of Maine so enjoyed the town and the houses and the water.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC.

So basically... 20% actual plot, 80% "A Day in My Life"...got it.

I really tried to give The Mirror a fair shot, but I kept asking myself: What was the actual purpose of this second book? It felt like a repetition of the first. There were so many moments where I genuinely wondered, Why do I care about these characters again? 🤔

Honestly, the prologue was the only part that truly grabbed my attention. Everything after that just dragged.

Thank you to Netgalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thankful to receive book 2 at the same time as book 1 so I didn’t have to wait too long after that cliffhanger. Thankfully the story picked up right where book 1 ended so I was able to keep that energy going. This book did stall a little on the plot but I still enjoyed and can’t wait for book 3.

I'll start by saying this. I really enjoyed this book. I don't get all of the complaints and dislike from other reviewers, but different strokes and all of that. I'm perfectly okay with seeing people live their lives with the occasional dramatic instance. And the dramatic instances in this one, well, let's just say that they're plenty exciting for me.

Nora Roberts has written interconnected family stories, some with a paranormal twist, for ages, and it's one of the things that I've most enjoyed in her books. I sped read INHERITANCE (Book 1), and jumped right in to THE MIRROR. I'm completely invested in seeing how things shake out for Sonya, Cleo, and all of the Pooles, and can't wait for the showdown that's got to be coming between the light and the dark in THE SEVEN RINGS. And if the road there is filled with regular moments, that works for me, too.
