I truly believe Nora Roberts is one of the easiest authors to read. Her books are well developed, fast paced. This book was particularly heart warming and creepy, not sure how you can have both, but it is. I love seeing the characters develop and look forward to the final chapter in this trilogy.

Book two of the series. The house and the witch are still driving the story more character development . You meet the seven brides. Some characters are not seen but still are known. Example the one who plays songs to match the mood.
Some plot loops are closed more hinted at. A cliff hanger at the end

'The Mirror' is the second book in Nora Roberts 'Lost Brides' trilogy, and while this was an enjoyable read, the first 1/3 of the book seemed to drag. A lot of details of the every day, all day, which left me wondering where the story was going. Once the book picked up, I really fell back into the story, and this book fills really does fill in a lot of details from the first book's storyline. I enjoyed getting to understand the cast of characters better, seeing their relationships grow, understanding the family lines better. If you enjoy stories with any element of the supernatural, this is for you. I also loved the peaceful setting of a small town in Maine. While I will say this was not my 'favorite' of NR's reads, if you read the first one, you do not want to miss 'The Mirror' as it sets everything up for the 3rd and final book (which I can't wait for!). Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC!

Imagine living in a big house with your best friend and you adopt some animals and you both have a romance with very hot, supportive, protective guys, and some really nice ghosts keep your house clean (and oops there’s an evil ghost on the third floor but when she acts up you just yell at her) and you can see yourself just creating a found family and integrating into the larger community and money is no object because your uncle you never knew left you the family house and cash. THE DREAM !

Another great read from Nora Roberts! With a deeper dive into the characters development, and nicely moving storyline, this novel doesn't suffer from the "second novel slump" that often happens to a trilogy. We learn more about the brides and the witch, and I can't wait for the final book in this series!
Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC!

this is part two of a trilogy. I am really enjoying reading these books. I love the ghosts in the second book. Looking forward to the next book.

The series continued and it was so much fun slipping back into the antics of the ghosts and the romance tensions amongst the group! You know going in that this is only the second book in the trilogy and that there will be a cliffhanger but couldn't help flying through and getting closer to the end! There is definitely a cliffhanger at the end but I'm enjoying wondering how this one will be wrapped up, it doesn't seem as clear-cut as some of her other trilogies, I'll be waiting for next year! Another fantastic read from the legend herself!

Nora, Nora, Nora - write faster! I've been waiting FOREVER for this book, like the minute I finished The Inheritance. This one picks up right where it left off and invites you to be friends with Sonya and Cleo and the whole gang. I can't wait to see where this story goes. It was just as good as the first, even better because now we have a relationship with the characters. The history is unfolding bit by bit and the proverbial dots are starting to connect. No doubt book 3 is going to be even better and I can't wait!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to review this book.
As always, Nora hits it out of the park. This is a continuation of the Lost Brides series. Nora has a skill for painting pictures so clearly that is effortless to be immersed in the story. I will say I thought there was going to be more big action scenes but that just means the third book is going to be wild. What we did get was more in depth with the characters we loved from the first book and more background on Clover as well as some of the other brides. I can't wait for the next one!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book. This second installment of the Lost Bride Trilogy is as exciting to read as the first. We pick up right where we left the charming characters, Sonya, Cleo, Trey and Owen on the coast of Maine. Sonya inherited the house and is in the process of eliminating the nasty ghost competing for control of the historical manor. The characters are able to travel in time briefly to witness earlier inhabitants of the home and the drama inflicted by the nasty ghost. The writing style allows the reader to feel as though they are witnessing all the experiences as the characters, in fact it's almost like the reader is traveling to the manor and following the lives of the present day owner and friends while the owner and friends follow the lives of of those who came before them. The banter among the friends is lively and captivating. The "DJ" Grandmother Ghost is an imaginative addition to a great story by a great author. Looking forward to the final book.....enjoy!

Having read the first book in the series, The Inheritance, I was really looking forward to this second installment. The characters, Sonya, Cleo, Trey, and Owen, continue to develop, as do their relationships. At first, I thought the plot would be redundant, but I was wrong. There were several unexpected plot twists. I really enjoyed Part 2 of the trilogy and am looking forward to Part 3. I highly recommend this series.

This book was amazing! I loved the second book in the trilogy. It really went deeper into the manor and the lost brides. You learn more and more about each bride while also learning more about Sonya, Owen, Trey, and Cleo. Their relationships are evolving between the four of them and also with their friendlies. I do also think that in the third book Sonya's ex might come into play after what happened in this one. This series is full of not only love, but also the paranormal which makes it so much fun!

You can always count on Nora Roberts for a compelling and incredible read! Don't love that I have to wait for the next one but I zoomed through this book in less than 48 hours!

Oh my word, I love this trilogy! I seriously can not wait for the final book to come out. Sonya and her friends continue trying to solve the mystery of the seven brides. I loved the ghosts who haunt the manor. I love the friendship between Sonya and her friends.

4 stars out of 5.
This is the second book in the trilogy and I really enjoyed getting to know Sonya and the cast of characters better. We also get more information on the Poole family and about the brides. Dobbs makes more of an appearance and is still causing trouble. I did enjoy the first book in the series better because this book lacked a bit in plot. I felt like nothing new really happened aside from a few events and I was really hoping for more action. Overall, it is a great book and I would still recommend reading it. The ending sets us up nicely for the next book in the trilogy and I cannot wait!
In The Mirror, we pick up where the last book left off. Sonya continues to have strange things happen in the manor but is accepting it and even embracing it. She also continues to go through the mirror to get more information on the past brides and other family members. Cleo and Sonya seem to have a good groove going at the house plus we get to see more of Trey and Owen. We are left at the ending wondering what will happen next and how will Hester Dobbs be stopped.
Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I am heart broken because now I have to wait what seems like forever to find out what happens. Great interest grabber.

In this second book of the Lost Bride Trilogy, Sonya MacTavish continues to interact with the ghostly brides in the mirror experiencing along with them the terrible scenes of their wedding, or other fateful day, deaths. Each time Sonya is drawn into the mirror, often at the particular hour of three in the morning, she witnesses the evil woman who perpetrated the curse strike each successive brides causing their deaths. Sonya is determined to break the curse and give the spirits of those lost in sorrow some peace. The resident evil ghostly witch, Hester Dobbs, and her poltergeist type antics make living in the old Maine coast mansion a wild ride.
While Sonya makes her life among the community working as a graphic designer along with her artist best friend, Cleo, who moved in, she learns ways to deal with not only the malevolent spirit, but the benevolent ones who help her run the house. Sonya’s love interest, Trey, along with her cousin, Owen, vow to help the women fight the evil presence and recover the stolen wedding rings tied to the curse. Much of the story focuses around Sonya’s work and quotidian chores as well as her learning more history about the house and her late relatives, both good and bad.
While this story is mostly filling in the details about the brides and her family, there are a couple of interesting events including one concerning Sonya’s cheating ex-fiancé, and a big party for some village inhabitants at the manor. The story drags at times with the day-to-day details which seems to work better in the JD Robb series where Eve goes through tedious details to solve a crime. Readers will have to relive along with Sonya the loss of several of the women including her late father’s mother which adds quite a bit of sadness and drama to the story. The balance is in found family for Sonya and learning a history she never knew about as well as coming to love her home and new surroundings of Poole’s Bay.

Let me just start by saying, if any long lost relatives want to leave me a mansion overlooking the sea in Maine, with the money for upkeep and to start my own business, in a cute little small town and a variety of GHOSTS haunting it…I’ll totally sign up to fight the battle against darkness.
This book is second in a series, and fleshes out the details of the first book. We meet the dead brides and revisit the past to experience their stories. It picks up directly from the end of the first, it took me a minute to remember what exactly was happening.
I really enjoyed the brides’ stories, although I felt like the action wasn’t as pumped up as a haunted house story would be usually. I kept waiting for Hester Dobbs to pull out some evil and danger, but it seems she’s more smoke and cackles. I’m assuming that’s what’s coming in the book three showdown. There was a lot of eating/drinking/rehashing events amongst the four main characters. I did find myself skimming a bit during the party scenes, waiting for the walls to start bleeding or something.
Overall an enjoyable book, a little less so than the first but I’m still waiting eagerly for the third. Nora Roberts fans will not be disappointed!
Thanks to Nora Roberts, St Martins Press and NetGalley for making this arc available!

After the inheritance of the Maine Manor, Sonya decides to move in where she meets and reconnects with her cousin Owen and her dear friend Cleo. The novel flourishes with fanatical ghosts that make for an intriguing array of events. As Sonya continues her quest to solve the deaths of the seven brides and tidbits of history unfold, the plot is filled with love affairs and amazing activities of the present inhabitants of the manor. I look forward to the third novel in the trilogy..

This book is a drop-everything-and-read-it-now for me. I fell so hard for Inheritance last year that when I saw that this was on NetGalley, my soul yeeted out of my body and returned once the kindle download was complete. Even just into the Prologue, this book was everything. I live for this book and this series, Ms. Roberts. And it held up to the very end. I cried several times because it was perfection itself.
The Mirror was so good. The vibes and ambiance are immaculate. I would like a haunted mansion like The Lost Bride Manor. Please and thank you. Invisible housekeeper, ghost dj, and all… but maybe without the crazy witch. The author has such a talent for characterization. You honestly fall in love with every single one of those characters. It doesn’t matter what they’re doing, I just want to sit around and watch them go about their days. But of course, we need to defeat Hester Dobbs and I need book 3 now to see it done.
My mama is already clamoring for this book for Christmas. If you haven’t read The Lost Bride Series, you’re really missing out. Don’t sleep on it. Highly recommend to EVERYBODY. If it isn’t clear how much I love this book, go out and get it. 5/5. Obsessed.
