I am such a fan of Lucy Foley and The Midnight Feast did not disappoint. This was a bit of a slow burn but it worked. I loved the dual timelines and alternating POVs. This may be my favorite from the author.

This started off slow for me, but I love Lucy Foley books so I stuck with it and was not disappointed. The pacing picked up really well and I loved the folklore interwoven into the main mystery

I loved this authors book The Guest List, so I was excited to read this one! I love how she does multiple POVs in her books for each chapter. I can never put the book down because you always want to know how it ends.
It’s the grand opening of The Manor a new luxe hotel. Florence Meadows has made sure this hotel will be the best of the best. The town is not happy that this new fancy hotel is going in.
The day after opening night, there is a fire, a dead body and everyone is acting strange. All the secrets start coming out about the town and the people in it.
I definitely recommend this one if you enjoy a quick thriller! The multiple POVs keep you interested through the whole book. I love the whole setting and backstory, Foley does a great job with the folklore in this book.

While not my favorite Lucy Foley thriller, it is not the worst. I had a little trouble getting into the story, but I eventually got there. I am glad I did not give up.
Francesca Woodland has turned her family estate into a luxury destination – The Manor, and it is sold out for its grand opening weekend.
Ms. Foley’s voice, pop culture, secrets, and twists had my attention for most of the book, but the last third had me hooked. Her characters are layered, storytelling complex, while keeping me turning pages.
Thank you to NetGalley and William Morrow for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Lucy Foley strikes gold with *The Midnight Feast*, a thrilling blend of mystery and high-stakes tension. Set against the backdrop of an elite, secretive dinner party, Foley crafts a deliciously dark tale where every guest harbors secrets—and not everyone will make it out unscathed. With razor-sharp twists and complex characters, Foley’s prose pulls readers into a whirlwind of suspense that keeps you guessing until the last page. Perfect for fans of atmospheric thrillers, *The Midnight Feast* is an unputdownable read that leaves a lingering, eerie taste.

This book has been all over bookstagram as one of Lucy’s best. I loved The Guest List so I was so excited to be approved for this one. It did not disappoint. Lucy has a way of painting the creepiest setting for a mystery to unfold that I feel like I’m there. She consistently keeps me on my toes. When I think I’ve discovered the twist, she throws me a curve ball I didn’t see coming. Well done, Lucy, can’t wait for the next one!

If you've liked Lucy Foley's books so far, you will definitely enjoy this one. True to form, this tightly constructed little mystery follows a group of interconnected people brought together by the grand opening of a new high-end resort. The setting is all windswept cliffs, dark woods, and secret beaches, while the cast of characters includes influencers, socialites, the staff, the curmudgeonly locals, a police detective, and a middle-class mom who clearly has an agenda of her own. Every one of them has secrets that tie them to the setting, and watching the web unravel is a genuine pleasure.
If you're expecting something completely unique, you might not get it. It follows the same general beats as Foley's other books. For me, this makes it a comforting little small-cast mystery, with enough twists and turns to keep me flying through the pages. And while I have found some of her books to be a little same-y (the Hunting Lodge and the Paris Apartment, for me), this one brought some intriguing new elements. It captured both the nostalgia and the inherent darkness of remembering your most uncomfortable adolescent moments, and wove a thread of truly creepy local folklore into the events in a way that felt authentic and compelling.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a thriller that is dark but not pitch black and twisty but not overwrought.

Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy

The Midnight Feast is an enthralling thriller that takes readers on a suspenseful journey. The story centers around a lavish dinner party that takes a dark turn when secrets start to unravel and tensions rise. Foley's intricate plotting and well-drawn characters create a palpable sense of unease that keeps you guessing until the very end. With its unexpected twists and turns, this book is perfect for anyone who loves a good mystery with a touch of psychological drama.

The MIdnight Feast reminded me of: The Club by Ellery Lloyd. It was a locked room mystery type set amongst sexy people with a secret. The buzz for Lucy Foley is always so big that the expectations are so high. The story is good but the ending falls flat on the last few pages. Still great development and GORGEOUS location details.

Lucy Foley!!! What a queen. Love her constant thrillers and how she keeps me on the edge of my seat always. Thankful to receive this early release copy and loved it. Will definitely be recommending this to my followers and bookclub as our next thriller.

My favorite Lucy Foley read yet!! I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. Loved the multiple points of view and twists in the story. I seriously gave up trying to predict anything and just let the story take me.

I really enjoyed this new Lucy Foley novel. It was the perfect read while I was recovering from surgery! It was a slow burn, but it was absolutely interesting enough to keep me reading and wanting more. One of the best atmospheric summer thrillers that I've read, and as a librarian, I've read many. I love a good morally grey character, and this book had virtually only those! I know some people dislike that, but it makes the characters feel a little more real to me. I would definitely recommend this to beginners in the thriller/mystery genre.

I love the style of Lucy Foley's writing, honestly, it's so attention grabbing and makes me want to read ahead to find out. The multiple POVs, being cryptic and unreliable is just so captivating. Not that I love being lied to...but I love that I have to question everything. The Midnight Feast brings you in blind, and the past and present narration starts to bring everything together, but definitely not in the way that you think it will. This is a successfully, suspenseful thriller that had some twists I didn't see coming.
With the grand opening of a lavish coastal retreat in full swing, we find out that not everything is as it seems, for anyone present. There is so much tension and suspense written into the pages. It picked up for me about halfway through, and when we start to find out the secrets our characters have, they are mind blowing. I do think it was a little slow paced to begin with, but it did pick up. I think this was a solid thriller with a good amount of surprise and set up.
Thank you to NetGalley, William Morrow and Lucy Foley for the eARC of The Midnight Feast in exchange for an honest review. I'm clearly behind in my ARCs because the publication date for The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley was 18 June 2024, so you can definitely grab your copy now.

In typical Lucy Foley fashion, we have a story with multiple POV's and not all of them are as they seem but that's definitely a draw for me. I love not knowing exactly what is going on. I love guessing who is who and what is what and why everything is happening. This story was no different. Is that really so and so? (I was wrong and I was right lol). What the heck happened all those years ago? So and so died, but did they? (I was wrong, oh so wrong). In the end, the story had suspense, some very unlikable characters and some twists that surprised me. The only fly in the ointment was Francesca for many different reasons but if I had to hear, "I'm very sensitive to that" again, I think I might have thrown my phone lol.

I’ll grab a Lucy Foley book promptly but this was not it for me. Many story lines and timelines just for a lukewarm finish. Didn’t feel like a thriller unfortunately. Not my favorite from her.

This was not for me. The "thriller" aspect of this book was lost on me. I found it quite boring and even as "twists" were revealed nothing felt shocking. I did like how the deceased weren't revealed until the end, but I didn't care by that point. There wasn't work done to make me care for their loss - either in an excited way or a sense of loss.
The Birds - I'm still confused, what a let down. Locals taking matters into their own hands sounds pretty much like another hooded group who didn't like outsiders or changes to their way of life.
I'm glad I went outside of my normal genre to give this book a try, but I was unmoved by the content.

This book was so immersive and fun. It kept me on my toes and I couldn't wait to see the story and plot twists unravel. I wanted to see more from "The Birds" and absolutely loved the ending of this one! I loved that everything was intertwined and liked that Foley went step by step to layout all of those connections from earlier and what led up to that opening weekend. I also enjoyed the woods- I felt like the setting was well developed and felt like an additional character. Overall, this was a great read and was easy to discuss in our book club. I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoyed thrillers!

Lucy Foley does it again! Every time I think I've read my favorite Lucy Foley novel, here comes another to top the list. Do not miss this one.

I enjoyed the premise of this book. It's opening weekend at the manor. It's picture perfect ready for Francesca whose architect husband Owen has designed the manor. Francesca is fulfilling her dream until it becomes a nightmare. Dead bodies are turning up everywhere. This book is told from multiple povs that go back and forth from past to present and it became chaotic for me at times. It was hard to keep up with. It started out exciting and then if just fell a little flat. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it.
I want to thank netgalley and the publishers!!
