There are not enough books telling history from a Native American standpoint, so this is a great addition for kids. We've used Goble books for years in our homeschool and I was always under the impression that he was Native American himself. It is a little concerning that Dakota history is still being taught by a white man, especially one who grew up in England. That said, Goble does an excellent job of telling the story and the art is beautiful.
