I adored Mary and Rueben, they were so perfectly matched, two souls who had overcome obstacles in their lives, with God’s help, to achieve a life they loved.
Another great Amish read, highlighting the bonds of family, Christian values, and the sweetest of romantic undertones.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in return for my honest review.

Maem says Gott has a plan for us, and He holds us in the palm of His hand, and He watches over us. Mary knows that. She must, because she’s all growed up now. Like you.”
One of my favorite quotes because it's true.
I've enjoyed this series of books and loved every one of them. Such wonderful stories!
Mary is a delightful character. I love how she looks towards God and family for love and support.
I get where Mary's coming from. I understand her fear because I feel the same way she does. In fact, I'm dreading my own surgery. I keep putting it off because I'm afraid as is Mary's.
I really like how this author has shown the siblings of Mary and Ruth's adopted daughter so much wiser than their years. Simon and Abby. Love them.
Lydia is a fantastic character too. She's my very favorite. I love her wisdom and strength along with her friendship. Anyone would be blessed to know her.
A fantabulous read and kept me awake until 3 am!
Sometimes grown-ups need to hear a truth from someone else to help them remember it. I think she knows in her heart that Gott has a plan for her, but scary things like surgery can make a person forget stuff like that."
I wanted to leave you all with this to think about.
This is why I love books like this. It's to remind us that God loves us and that He's always with us.
5 stars for a well written story. I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I enjoyed reading about two mature, wholesome individuals falling in love. This book lacks the things that I often find annoying in other Amish novels: childish, capricious behavior, inappropriate thoughts and actions, intense drama, etc.
I loved Rueben's sense of humor. All the characters were very well fleshed out and unique, and their personalities stayed the same throughout the book (sometimes in stories like this one a character will do a 180 halfway through the book for no reason other than the plot won't go on otherwise). This author has a talent for story telling and I was invested in the story up until the very last page. Loved the happy ending and will be looking for more books by this author.

This is a wonderful story of two people overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles to be together. Wonderful characters.

Mary was the victim of a tragic buggy accident that killed her father and left her with an injury to her legs which several surgeries had made her able to get around with a cane.
Mary helped her mother and stepfather with 4 boys aged 6 - 12: she cooked, cleaned and helped watch them as she lived in the dawdi haus next door.
Mary was happy but she missed having a family as she could not do heavy farm work and it was doubtful if she could bear children.
Then a new man came to town, Reuben King was a doctor who took over for the one who retired to Florida. Reuben came over to Marys' house to ask for directions and Mary felt a fluttering in her stomach as she talked with Reuben.
Mary had no idea that Reuben was going to turn her life upside down!

Mary’s Calico Hope is part of the Heart of Amish series. I believe it can be read as a stand alone. Mary Yoder has been on crutches since she was a toddler due to a buggy accident that took her father and left her badly injured. Reuben King is the new doctor who is Mennonite but used to be Amish. I enjoyed this story of friendship, God’s will and hope of things working out. Thank you to Barbour Publishing and NetGalley. This is my own opinion.

I love this book. I love reading about the Amish. My mother was born on which and left the community so it's always interesting to learn more about her culture and the way she used to live. With that being said, I wanted to give this five stars. However, there was a little bit of spelling this errors that needed to be addressed and it almost felt like everything was too perfect like it felt like everything was way almost neat tidy package without much happening towards the end of the book

There is something incredibly special about Amish romances and 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬’𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗢 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 hit that reading sweet spot.
From the very beginning I found myself drawn to Mary Yoder and her determination to not let anything stop her. She was incredibly strong and gifted in many ways. Her strength and perseverance was admirable especially considering the devastating accident that changed her life. Reuben King was so very well written. I found myself drawn to this incredibly special man. From a young age he was determined to become a doctor even though as an Amish man he couldn’t. He made it his life’s mission to do so and succeeded.. Together these two very special characters formed a beautiful relationship that had me sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of them finding a way to be together. When they did, I was ecstatic.
I’m giving 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬’𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗢 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Another feel-good story of Christian romance. The growth of the characters and their relationship is well done.

What a wonderful story. I loved Mary and Reuben and how seemlessly they fell in love. Amish stories bring so much light and love in the telling
The theme in this book was an interesting blend of 2 cultures bound together
