Love this book. As an adult I learned a lot from this book.. These are not just trivia but facts that not just informs but help us how to take care nature. One objection though, I would have given this one five stars but I disagree with the line "humans are animals too" which is a nod to evolution.

I had a flick through this before sharing with my kids and thought it looked very basic. The activities didn’t look much fun (create a rain collector by putting a bucket outside…) but I was wrong. My kids aged 3 and 5 love ranger Hamza and his TV shows but also from Strictly so they were committed. They actually loved how basic the activities were as there was nothing that seemed over complicated or tricky for them and we could use things we have around the house. They want to go on a eco quest every time we go for a walk now and are thinking like little Hamza’s which is so lovely. Highly recommend for infant years age children.

A book for everyone to encourage thinking and making things better for the planet. Saving water with a rain barrel, becoming a weed champion (instead of the use of chemicals), learning to do small things that will help birds, small animals, trees, worms, seaweed, and sunflowers. Learn to keep eyes open for ways to help nature!
The illustrations by Kate Kronreif are clear, imaginative, colorful, and informative and FUN.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your local public library! Books on IVY Kids are planet friendly.
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Quarto Publishing Group – Ivy Kids/Ivy Kids Eco via NetGalley. Thank you!

What a fantastic story that teaches children the importance of things such as water conservation, the importance of certain plants, how to help birds and other animals and how everything in nature has a purpose.

I think this is a must read for all children as it carries such an important message about how we can help our planet. It’s never too early to teach your little one.

I feel this could be one they read independently or they could be read to as this would certainly open up discussions.

This was a super engaging and important book! I loved the way this book was informative but not overwhelming, it was broken down into bitesize pieces and accompanied with beautiful artwork.

The diversity in the book is also something I want to call out as something I really appreciated. I think it’s so important to embrace diversity and this book did so perfectly.

As another reviewer mentioned, I think the only thing I would raise as a comment is the US English vocabulary - of course this isn’t anything detrimental but thought it may be worth pointing out. :)

This is a wonderful children's book which encourages children to interact with local nature. What is most important is the diversity in the characters that have been drawn - this is really important.

The articulation is enjoyable and encourages children to get excited about trees and shrubbery around them.

Ranger Hamza is a popular CBeebies Tv personality and Countryfile presenter. Hamza’s passion for the environment and helping wildlife is clear and this book is an ideal way to introduce young readers and learners to things they can see and doing the environments around them and maybe a little further afield.

Kate Kronreif’s illustrations are perfectly pitched . The activities use every day and easily accessible materials. As a topic text in a classroom to support KS 1 learning or a book to read and share at home this is a great little introduction to eco- issues and care for 5-7 year olds.
The only tiny ‘ gripe ‘ is the use of the words ‘ sidewalk ‘ and ‘ladybugs’ not used in English schools but maybe there are different versions.

Thank you NetGalley and IvyKids for the advance copy.

A good book for introducing kids to the importance of wildlife and how it affects our everyday lives. I loved the fact that the text is short, but I think it could be a little more structured, especially if the kids are reading the book by themselves.

This was such a fun book which encourages children to go outside and explore nature. I liked that it set practical tasks to do and didn't feel preachy or overly patronizing. I thought it was great that each task was adapted for different living situations e.g. garden vs balcony and put the problems into context both in rural and urban environments. The illustrations were beautiful and I really enjoyed the art style used throughout this book.
