No One Does It Like You was the perfect blend of second chances, family bonds, and finding love in the most unexpected places.

The book begins with an incredibly dramatic moment: Tom, the handsome Broadway actor, is about to dive into a raging flood to rescue a co-star from his car, and using that intense moment to reach out to his ex-wife, Rosie, to confess his love for her. It’s bold, it’s messy, and it sets the stage for a whirlwind romance where both Tom & Rosie must face their past and what they truly want from life.

Two months later, Rosie, who has been busy dealing with storm damage to her family's inn, hesitantly agrees to let Tom help her fix up the B&B, despite the unresolved tensions between them. As they work together, their chemistry is so electric, totally undeniable, but it’s clear they both have a lot of baggage to unpack. Can they rebuild the trust that was lost so many years ago and finally find love again.

I did feel like the pacing slowed down a bit in the middle of the book, especially with the focus solely on the B&B’s restoration. While these moments were necessary for character development, I felt they took away from the more exciting aspects of the romance. With that being said, the final payoff, both emotionally and romantically, was well worth the wait.

Overall, No One Does It Like You is a beautifully, charming romance. Katie Shepard’s writing is engaging and enjoyable, and the relationship between Tom and Rosie is the perfect kind of messy and imperfect! Makes you root for them to finally end up together through the entire story!

Yep telling your ex you want them back during a hurricane is probably not the smartest thing to do. But it's a rom com so it's going to happen and leads to a funny story.

Our hero and heroine parted ways many years earlier, but when he is faced with a life or death event, she is the first regret he thinks of. So he sends her a voicemail offering to do anything to make up for the past. Our heroine wants to restore the family Inn when her grandmother can't. The rest of the family want to sell it for profit. When she asks them to help her, they back out. Excuses, excuses. As a last hope she comes across the voice mail from her ex and takes him up on the offer.
He leads her to believe he has suddenly inherited handy man knowledge then asks for lots of help from his friends. Including one who is rumored to be his boyfriend.
A good story that is well written, even though loving these flawed characters can be difficult, you'll be glad you stuck it out
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley

I had high hopes for this read but it was just meh. I didn’t find the MCs to be believable, or even sometimes likable, and it was a bit of a struggle for me to finish it but I did manage. The second chance trope is usually a fave of mine but not this time. It might be a great read for someone else but it wasn’t the one for me.

A second chance romance with a home (inn) renovation setting told in dual POV. There's definitely lots of miscommunication/lack of communication altogether in this one that was a bit frustrating but also led to some entertaining moments. I'm happy we had the dual POV so we could see what was going through each of their heads. This one is fun with a bunch of quirky characters and ridiculousness but also lots of tender moments and character development. I love the building renovation setting and all the random side characters who become a found family that Rosie is really desperately in need of since her own family is awful. Both MCs bring their own drama and baggage to the story and while at times it felt unrealistic, the miscommunication and ten years of separate life drama was also very realistic if that makes sense. You can tell from the beginning that they both never got over each other but Tom is the one really driving this second chance and he's so earnest in his love for Rosie and trying to show that he's grown and changed. You can't help but root for him. Rosie is understandably more hesitant to try again but she also doesn't have a great support system or healthy model of love to draw from. Plus, her own assumptions get in the way of what she wants frequently - hence the miscommunication. Overall, I enjoyed the story and am happy they find their HEA and some found family along the way!

No One Does It Like You is a contemporary second-chance romance about a couple who has been divorced for 10 years. After a hurricane damages her family’s bed and breakfast, Rose has no one to turn to for help making repairs and asks the last person she can think of – her ex-husband, Tom. Despite having not a single handy bone in his body, Tom offers to help in hopes of winning Rose back.

When I picked this book up, I was hoping for an adorable, heartfelt romance set amid a HGTV show. Sadly, I did not find any of the things I was hoping for. While it is clear the plot is contrived from the synopsis, it felt truly ridiculous once I started reading. The writing leaves you feeling like you are starting in the middle of a book. Plot points and details are written with little to no set-up, leaving readers confused. This is made worse by the fact the characters are about as confused as you are.

No One Does It Like You is an entire book that epitomizes the miscommunication trope to a laughable extent. The two protagonists might as well be on different planets, just making assumptions about the other, with the little that they actually communicate. Tom just assumes that Rose asking for his help means that she wants to reconcile, despite the fact she has said nothing to him about it or spoken to him for a decade. Meanwhile, Rose assumes that Tom is in a relationship with his male costar, because she saw a photo of them together online. So when Tom breaches the subject or reconciliation, Rose is thrown for a loop. Because they fail to communicate at the most basic level, their interactions and conversations are awkward and uncomfortable. While I kept hoping it would get better, I could not even root for the main characters due to their immaturity.

So that I do not absolutely tear this book to shreds, let me tell you what I liked. I thought the LGBTQIA+ representation was well done. I enjoyed the found family elements of the story, and I liked Boyd’s character best as a himbo with a heart of gold.

Overall, No One Does It Like You felt like an amateur self-published novel that forwent editing. I would not recommend it unless you are dying to read a romance novel that mentions fandoms and shipping.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Rose and Tom. Ten years ago they got a divorce. They had gotten married while the were in college. There is still an attraction. Rose is trying to save her aunt’s inn, that has been damaged during a storm. All of her family wants her to sell it. She calls Tom and he offers to help. He helps and they fall in love.

While I enjoyed this had a unique premise, it just wasn't the second chance romance for me. I loved the side characters so much and that's pretty much what got me to finish this book. The fact that it took me almost two weeks to finish the audiobook is telling enough, but I had the hardest time liking Rosie and that's hard when it's a main character.

Three’s Company in this romance between former College Sweethearts. This second-chance, forced proximity romance, shows that sometimes you have to take a leap to change your life.

It's hard to have a unique premise in a second chance romance, but this one did. Rose and Tom have been divorced for many years when a hurricane upends their lives. Told from both POVs, we see Tom and his friends try and help Rose save the family inn.

I had a hard time connecting with Rose so in turn I had a hard time rooting for them as a couple, but friendship and strength of it really propelled me to keep reading. That rag tag group of friends was a fun addition to the romance. And Tom willing to do anything for Rose stole my heart.

While this isn't one of my favorite romances of the summer, I did enjoy the read.

This book is a bit of puzzlement for me when it comes to giving it a rating. There are moments that sparkle, and the angle it take on 2nd chance romance and on modern social media's influence on everyone, whether they like it or not is wonderful. While the main characters are relatively robust, some of the 2ndary ones leave me with questions. Why is all of Rose's family so against her restoring the old house her aunt has asked her to manage? How can the lead man be so attracted to another one who seems to be dumb as a box of rocks?
That said, the story of the rehab of the property, the shifting relationship between the two main characters, and the actual effect that secondary characters have on the outcome of the story are delightful. If you're looking for a lively romance and not too invested in background details, this is a winner.

A second chance romance, a b&b and a hurricane makes for a fun story! Not to mention a fun cast of characters made this so enjoyable!

This was an ADORABLE read and will most definitely going on my list of favorite rom-coms of 2024! Katie Shepard has done it again!

I loved the chemistry between Rosie and Tom, and I enjoyed that this book put a spin on the trope of having a second chance romance...but this time it’s between two exes who are divorced. That seems to be a rare occurrence in the romance books that I have read, so it was quite refreshing to me.

This book reminded me of a Hallmark movie and I ate up every second of this charming romance.

The audiobook is narrated by Savannah Peachwood and I love how she brought the character’s voices to life. She is a wonderful narrator with a soothing, sweet voice like honey!

If you are looking for a “second chance” romance to curl up with this fall, I definitely recommend this book!

Many Thanks again to NetGalley, Berkley, and Penguin Random House Audio for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review!

This was my first Katie Shepard book, but it won’t be my last! While its slower pace made it harder to get into, the found-family aspect was strong, I loved how Tom and Boyd made Rosie’s dreams come true, and Tom’s commitment to both Rose and her aunt warmed my heart.

I didn’t realize this book was part of a series until after I finished it, but knowing that, I’m eager to go back and read Katie’s earlier books! I feel like her writing has potential, and I’m curious to see what the other books are like. Rose is a sweet, spunky character and the motley crew that rallied around her yo babe her bird-inspired inn a success made me smile 😍

I found myself having a really hard time getting into this one for whatever reason. I really liked the story line but I just was never fully hooked on it and kept getting distracted.

Thanks to berkley for the copy--i just wish i liked it more!

This was a no for me. Would others like it? Yes.

I didn't feel like the two main characters went together well.

The story itself was slow and hard for me to get into. The idea of it sounded amazing though. I love old houses and it's even better when it's a family home they fix up.

This could have been my mood at the time of reading, but I just couldn't connect with anyone in this.

A wild and renovation heavy second chance romance that brings in theater, fandom, allergies, and realizing that your family doesn’t have to be the source of all your love and support. It’s sideways found family.

Tom is a middling actor that lost the love of his life and after a life risking experience, calls and tells her he loves her and he’ll do anything for her. Rosie, needing help renovating her family’s hurricane damaged inn, takes him up on the offer. Along comes his famous costar and the fandom that ships them together, and shenanigans because none of them know what they’re doing.

Sweet and deep, with characters you desperately want to get back together.

"No One Does It Like You" by Katie Shephard is a heartwarming and engaging romantic novel that explores the complexity of relationships. The timing of Tom's declaration of love to his ex-wife amidst a hurricane adds an element of urgency and unpredictability to the plot, which sets the stage for a captivating and emotional journey. As Tom and Rose are brought together to repair the family inn, their interactions are filled with tension, humor, and poignant moments that make their rekindling relationship believable and heartfelt.

The novel beautifully captures the intricacies of second chances and the challenges of rebuilding trust and love. The setting of Martha’s Vineyard adds a charming backdrop to the story, immersing the reader in the beauty of the island and the struggles faced by the characters. Additionally, the supporting cast of characters, including Tom’s Broadway cast members and Rose’s family, adds depth and humor to the narrative.
