Blood Bound Books has recently become one of my favorite publishers. They are not afraid to cross the line and offend when needed.
This is a great collection to get a feel of what you'll get from Blood Bound.

Are you looking for something deeply disturbing and full of bodily fluids? Yes? Then this collection is the one for you. Looking for more authors to look into for splatter recommendations? This book has that too! Basically, if you’re like me, you’ll definitely love this selection of grossly grotesque short stories for the dark and demented! No dull ones but I am a huge fan of Nikki Noir and SC Mendez, so seeing their names was an instant need. Plus, the creator of Evil Cookie Press as an editor is an added bonus. Satisfied my craving for brutality so definitely look forward to the next collection!

This book is full of gore and horror and is definitely the darker side of the genre. I don’t usually pick horror books but I was drawn to this. It is well written and intriguing.

Plenty of blood and gore and WTF moments in this anthology of splatterpunk short stories. Not really my thing but kinda fun in a gross kind of way.

Liked this one! Not all the stories hit right for me, but the few that did were excellent.

Definitely Splatterpunk with lots of body horror.

My favorites:

Splatter Party by John Mcnee
Nadine wants to go to a party to forget for awhile but instead ends up facing off with a literal Romanian being from hell.

I Hang My Hat and There’s No Blood by Robert Essig
The bright lights of Vegas and a washed out comedian who used to be somebody. Groundhog Day but with lots of horror.

I love the campy splatterpunk stories. The perfect mix of horror and dark campy humor. A fun read for people who enjoy the genre. A couple of my favorites is 23 to 46 and Neutered.

This book successfully does what all good Splatterpunk should strive for. It's fun as all hell. Gross and offensive but still fully aware of what it is. Due to being a collection there will always be a few stories that don't hold up as much as the others but they all at least manage to be fun.

Firstly I would like to thank K. Trap Jones , S . C.Mendes , Blood Bound Books, NetGalley and the collective of outstanding extreme horror writers whom made this anthology a reality.
I am an avid reader of the splatterpunk genre, so I was very excited to receive this compilation of short stories to read and review.
The collection contains the work of highly recognisable authors within this field whom have each put their unique style and stamp within the pages.

Although I love extreme horror , I tend to read the author's own novellas and this is the first anthology I have read.
The best thing about reading a collection is that there is literally something for everyone. Whilst some of the 13 tales didn't quite hit the mark for me , I appreciate that others will relish in these tales. It is a great way to discover new authors and have a glimpse into their imaginative , gritty and sometimes warped minds.

I personally derive pleasure from the graphic and gut churning and on this note feel that some of the works were not exactly splatterpunk and tame for the classification , but none the less were weird, niche and very diverse.
Splatter Party by John McNee was a great introductory tale and a great opener to the book ahead. Whilst Grinder by Nikki Noir was one of my personal favourites . Whilst the book is not for the faint of heart and the very easily offended, I must recommend it for anybody looking for memorable and shocking bitesize works of fiction . From horror in outer space to the eating of a penguin - There is certainly an appealing story for all tastes.

I received a free ARC, and this review is voluntary

The compilation of stories is pretty short in length, but what it lacks in page count it makes up for in quality of content. Each story was fresh, and taken to a level that brought out the creepy vibes.

This was a good read, and I'm glad I now have a whole host of new authors I can scope out.

It was a good read. Many of the stories are able to have me hooked right at the beginning. I’m not the biggest fan of anthologies , but this was one of the better anthologies I’ve read.

I had the opportunity to receive this ARC from NetGalley, my first one ever!
Needless to say, I was thrilled to dive into it.
When it comes to anthologies, I find it challenging to assign a star rating, as my rating will be a reflection of my overall impression of the book.
Here are the stories that stood out to me the most:

"I Hang My Hat and There's No Blood":
This story is my favorite among the collection. I appreciated the writing style, which brought to mind the movie Groundhog Day but with a horror twist. While not overly gory, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it.

"Code Black":
Creature tropes are not typically my cup of tea, but this story was so well-written that the suspense kept me engaged until the very end. While not excessively gory, I found myself enjoying it nonetheless.

"Neutered":
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story, considering I'm not usually a fan of sci-fi tales. However, knowing that it was written by Chandler Morrison, whose writing style I admire, I gave it a chance and was not disappointed.

I would like to express my gratitude to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this advance reader copy in exchange for my unbiased review.

A bunch of quick, short stories with either horror or gore. Most were fairly tame, some not. The level of writing varied greatly throughout.

I'm going to go into this a little differently, usually I rate books individually inside anthologies but I just can't this time. The average rating for all of them came in at just under a three, so I have rounded to the three.

As a lover of Splatterpunk, horror and all things crazy and gruesome, there were just some of these that I didn't enjoy. Purely because the stories themselves weren't fitting what I normally see in that category. My standouts were Grinder, which played on basic human greed and desire for more and Neutered, a wacked out mash of self loathing with a twist.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blood Bound Books for an advanced copy for review. Welcome To The Splatter Club is available now.

4 stars

I’m still new-ish to the splatter punk world. So seeing some familiar names here, helped ease some of my anxieties. I love everything I’ve read by Robert Essig, and this story was no different. He’s just a good and fun author to read overall. I liked seeing/reading some other names I’m familiar with, but was hesitant to read, Nikki Noir, awesome story, I’ve been so scared, but now I’ll definitely go buy some of your stuff!

Other names I didn’t even realize were in the splatter punk sphere, but did a really good job.
Overall, this was a fun book and I’m glad I was able to read it.
