Not as good as This Spells Love, but definitely good enough that I'll keep reading Kate Robb's books. Fun premise, and I loved her Easter eggs explanations at the end.

I am loving this magical realism renaissance we're in! This was a super fun concept, young divorcee gets sucked into her favorite tv show alongside her new roommate she hardly knows. They are transported to the picture perfect town of Carson's Cove, it was giving early 2000s teen drama, picture One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls. They are stuck in the bodies of the town's golden girl Sloan and bad boy Fletcher and can't leave until "Sloan" gets her happy ending. This was really fun and unique, my only gripe would be that the romance needed more time to flesh out! But there were a couple spicy scenes that were on point!

If you were an avid viewer of teen dramas during the late 1990's/early 2000's (looking at you Dawson's Creek and OTH fans) then you will definitely enjoy this. Bryan is about to celebrate her 30th birthday, but things in her life haven't gone to plan. How does one celebrate this momentous occasion? By settling down in her living room to watch her favorite teen drama Carson's Cove with her very attractive roommate Josh. Combining comedy, angst, drama, and nostalgia this book was a nice way to escape real life for a while. I definitely recommend it. (By the way, I would absolutely cast Josh as Pacey J. Witter.)

I had high hopes for Prime Time Romance—the premise seemed like such a fun and fresh idea! Brynn and Josh waking up in Carson’s Cove as Sloane and Fletch definitely set the stage for a wild ride. And don’t get me wrong, it was interesting at certain points! Watching them navigate their on-screen personas in their version of a “real” world had its entertaining moments.
That said, something about this book just didn’t click for me. The plot felt a bit too predictable, like you could see every twist and turn coming from miles away. From the moment Brynn and Josh woke up in their fictional town, I had a pretty solid idea of where things were headed, and unfortunately, I was right. While I didn’t mind the predictability at first, it made the story feel less exciting as it went on.
I really wanted to love this book, but it didn’t quite deliver the punch I was hoping for. That said, if you’re into quirky concepts and don’t mind a straightforward romance, it might be worth checking out—it just fell short for me.

I thought this was a fun and cute romcom. I really liked the idea of them being transported into a teen drama. I feel like both Brynn and Josh are relatable in their feelings about being transported into this world, teenage me would’ve loved to go into my fav teen drama but adult me would’ve been a little concerned. I also liked Brynn and Josh’s relationship and its development, although it went a little fast for me ad would’ve appreciated if they had a little bit more of a relationship beforehand beyond being just roommates with little to no interaction.

I absolutely loved This Spells Love by Kate Robb, so I was very excited for her newest rom com, but sadly I didn't love it as much. I felt like the romance was so convenient, and I never could really get invested in the two main characters' relationship. It felt forced and almost insta love, which I fully know was not the case, but it also felt like it was if that makes sense? I wanted to love this one, but it just didn't work for me like Kate Robb's first book did.

During cod gave been better and some of the characters did need more developing including their romance. Over all the nostalgic feel is the best part of this novel, just wish it was a little more original.

True rating: 3.25
I have lost count of the number of times in my life that I wished I could be transported straight into my favorite tv show/movie/or book and find myself in the arms of a favorite fictional man. I enjoyed this fantasy romance and getting to see what MIGHT happen if that wish were to come true. Obviously the premise was a bit of a reach, but the underlying message of self-actualization and realizing what your true dreams are is always a good one to revisit. And the fact that it made me think of my favorite tv show as a teen, Dawson's Creek, was a fun bit of nostalgia. The concept was fun and unique and the delivery was good, but not great.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this review copy.

This was such a fun romance. I loved the MCs so much and was rooting for them the entire time. Will definitely be purchasing a physical copy in the near future.

It took me forever to finally read this arc because I wanted to listen to it on audiobook because I love audiobooks with different narrators for the FMC and MMCs. My hopes were low at starting this audiobook because it has 3.61 stars on Goodreads and I am weary of books with less than 3.8 stars. My apologies for both of those things!
Next point: I do not like crassness. I was annoyed before the first chapter even ended because I’d already read about “blowies”, genital straws taped to a wall, failed bumble dates, getting felt up, using your “friends” for a bar invite, and heard “bitches” at least 25 times.
Main point: KEEP READING!!! DON’T LET THE FIRST CHAPTER TURN YOU AWAY FROM THIS BOOK! The rest of it is so fun and cute! Brynn and Josh are meant to beeeeeee. Too cute.
This was fun and simple and light. It hugged my teenage soap opera loving heart. I wish Carson’s Cove was a real show, I’d watch the ish out of it.

This was a fun take on self realization by reliving your past in order to move forward. It was a mix of Pleasntville and the Truman Show along with Dawson's Creek. Don't we all want to live that fantasy a little? I will say, this started out strong for me but then puttered out at the end. There was a lot of potential but the pacing or something was off. Brynn was likeable enough but also a little naive and complainy. It also was convenient that she happened to have an attractive roommate. I wanted more backstory on how they came to live together. Also, for someone who just gets thrust into this nightmare, Josh went along with it way too easily. The romance was also lacking and could have been stronger. I felt no angst or passion. It felt like two people who just thought the other was vaguely attractive. They didn't really get to know each other deeply during the whole story.
All in all, great and fun concept, just lacking in the delivery.

This was a sweet little fantasy romance - who among us hasn’t sometimes wished to be transported into our favorite show/movie/novel, find ourselves the object of the affections of our favorite TV boyfriend? And yet, this dream becoming a little bit too real for the floundering Brynn, on the heels of a divorce and thrust into the soapy teen romance she’s loved for years - a show unexpectedly canceled with its romantic leads on a cliffhanger. Brynn and her roommate Josh find themselves having to act out roles in the show, or else they may never get to return home: Brynn playing the role of sweetheart Sloan who was destined to end up with town heartthrob Spencer. But she’s finding it harder to stay interested in Spencer when her feelings for Josh are right there…
This is a story about realizing the dreams and ideals you thought you wanted may not be so perfect up close, and that your real happy ending could look totally different than what you fantasized about. The fantastical elements are a little strained, but as long as you don’t look too closely, you can pretend not to see the set dressing and enjoy.
Thanks to NetGalley and Dial Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Random House and NetGalley for the e-ARC of the book.
Brynn makes a wish about happily-ever-after on her 30th birthday and wakes up in her beloved drama series that she occasionally binges on. Her roommate Josh who she barely knows is also there. They have to work together to get back in the present day.
This book had not only cute premise but a nice story as well. I enjoyed seeing how characters went thought changes as they were exposed to unusual situation. It was a comfort read for me even though there were unsettling topics as going thought divorce aftermath and feeling as a failure.

Thank you to netgalley for a copy of this book to read and review.
I have been seeing Kate Robb's books all over and I knew I had to check them out and this just looked so good.
I have been loving fantastical realism romance books lately. This one was so interesting, cute and fun. I loved our couple in this book. Their growth together and finding each other. I would love a josh for myself.
I loved the setting it reminded me of the tv shows I watched as a kid and teen. I would love to live in a cute little seaside town after reading this book.
I will definitely be checking out Kate Robb's other books out really soon.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was my first novel by Kate Robb. Prime Time Romance is the perfect story to remind you of the 2000s teenage dramas that a lot of us grew up watching. I couldn’t help but immediately notice the Dawson’s Creek vibes (the name and descriptions of Carson’s Cove gave it away).
Brynn and Josh’s love story was very sweet. I loved how they kept finding each other even though they were not supposed to be together while in Carson’s Cove. The only thing that I would have wanted more of was to have Brynn and Josh’s characters romance develop at more gradual pace because it felt a bit rushed at times. Despite that, I was loving all their moments together.
Lastly, I loved all of the little Easter eggs that were a nod to the late 90’s and early 2000’s teen dramas. I especially loved how Kate Robb confirmed all of these references at the end of her book, in case we missed any of them throughout this story.
Overall, this book was an easy and enjoyable read that felt very nostalgic!

I received a complimentary copy and all opinions expressed are mine.
This had an interesting premise and I enjoyed it as this was my first time reading the author. This follows Brynn who is reeling of divorce and heartbreak but with a love and comfort of her favorite show Carson Cove. It takes one birthday wish to turn her life upside down ...and ends with her waking up in her favourite tv show. With her roommate Josh. It has an interesting premise and likeable characters.

I really enjoyed This Spells Love earlier this year but I was pretty disappointed with this one. It was a bit horror movie esque and also just very juvenile in the plot. I think this would've lended better as a YA novel where a 16 year old was transported into her favorite teen drama than a 30 year old. Everything just seemed too teen angsty for me to take seriously as a 30 year old.
I did appreciate the multiple nods to old WB/CW shows though!

This book was cute ! Very different from my normal read, but it was an interesting plot! Very funny! I love a small town romance and I love good angst and banter! This book took me by surprise in a great way! Will be reading more from this author!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
*I should start by mentioning I was never a Dawson's Creek girlie so maybe this skews my view of this book. However I love Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl if that counts for anything*
I am screaming, giggling, kicking my feet. This was magic. I know there were some nods to popular TV shows but this felt so original, so unique and so refreshing!
*Spoilers ahead*
I honestly do not even know where to start.
The initial roommate tension. The unique way they were swept into Carson's Cove. FLETCH/JOSH OMGGGGG. Like, what?! Why was this such perfection?
My brain may never recover from how giddy this book made me and to be totally honest, I am not a huge rom-com reader. I find them to be too cheesy / cookie cutter which is funny because this book was literally about things going perfectly, being cheesy/ cookie cutter. IT ALL WORKED FOR ME.
100000000000000000/10 recommend!

So very Gilmore Girls! Such a fun and sweet read :) The pacing was pretty slow but the book and concept itself were neat!
