God I’m loving this series! It’s so good. The multiple POVs this book is exactly what it needed from the beginning imo. Full cast audio! Love that. There’s increased spice in this book. The tempo is the same as book 1 story wise.

A why choose romance must.

I did not like this book very much. It was repetitive, the story was not interesting, so I found myself disengaging quite often while the audio was playing and honestly, most of the times I didn't find the will to go back and relisten. The characters where not likable, just bland and generic.

I was so excited to find out what happened next and how the men rescued her but it ended up being really repetitive and too much like the first book which was pretty disappointing. I wanted so badly for there to just be more, but in the end it wasn't there.

It just felt very flat and generic.

I reviewed Blood and Wrath by Rumer Hale for # NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you NetGalley for the audio arc! I enjoyed this book! The spice!!! I loved seeing the growth of the bond between the mates as well as the growth of powers in Kiarra! She is an absolute badass and I cannot wait to see her retaliate against King in the next one! He is in for a rude awakening and I am here for it! I loved getting to learn more about her background in this one! I will absolutely be reading the next one!

This is the second installment in the series and the plotline continued right where the book one had ended, it was smooth and easy just like the book one of the series. The alphas looking for their parted mate and simultaneously, the plot unfolds more and more. I had a great time reading this one too. The characters are wonderful and the narration is smooth. Eagerly waiting for the next part in the series now.

I am a horror reader.

These books came up as “horror” on NetGalley because of the demons and monsters and gore. But good golly Miss Molly, these WHITE HOT books are NOT horror.

I recently finished this second book in the series involving the supernatural being, Kiara, and her harem of five alpha shapeshifters. The first book is Blood and Ruin which introduced us to Kiara, trapped in an abusive relationship with her powerful crime kingpin stepfather, named, of all things, King. Kiara meets her childhood friends and realizes they are her “mates.” Her mates give her hope and a reason to escape.

In Blood and Wrath, Kiara finally consummates her relationships with her mates. Repeatedly. And with fervor. Then they learn their newfound peace is under attack by the Underworld.

Blood and Wrath is a fiery reverse harem tale of sex, magic and violence. It’s fun and fast-moving, explicit and over the top. I had a gotdam fiesta listening to this bawdy tale. It ends in another cliffhanger and I would listen to the next to see where this story goes.

Thank you @NetGalley and @Dreamscape_Media for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

To be completely honest, this wasn’t written for me. I can appreciate a fantasy series with a “mate”, but multiple mates? No. Feels performative, like the only way the author could make the book special (because the plot definitely did not), was to have a bunch of horny mates. Felt like I was reading a fan fic written by a porn-obsessed teenager rather than a book written by an actual author who had a plan and plot.

Blood and Wrath is book two in a paranormal romance series by Rumer Hale. Thank you to NetGalley, Rumer Hale, and Dreamscape Media for providing me with an audio ARC in exchange for my fair and unbiased review!

What I loved:
- The narrators were absolutely wonderful!
- More insight into each of the guys' past
- More nuanced enemy development compared to book one
- The spice was spicing!

What I didn't love:
- The plot felt very flat to me, not a lot happened besides breaking her out and a lot of sex
- The guys' possessive alphahole behavior got old very fast
- The pacing didn't make sense to me
- Idk I feel like something was missing, like a plot twist or something

Overall, Blood and Wrath was entertaining, but I hope the plot picks up in book three! I am rating this title three out of five stars. You’ll love this if you enjoyed The Bonds that Tie!

This was actually a really good audiobook. They have 2 different speakers for the male/female parts and it flowed nicely. The story line was also much better for the second book as more of the world/relationships developed. However, I still feel a bit confused. This books still doesn’t ever go into how/why they love her so deeply and how the feelings developed. It was just like a mate bond and then done. And even that bond was never fully described. The plot is minimal and the focus is heavily on the reverse harem romance, the FMC just wants to get her hands on every single one like constantly. I actually do like this book series and I am really curious about the shadow powers/realm and the FMC power awakening, I just don’t love it. I would definitely read/listen to the next one.

I Really Liked The Story

“Don’t let yourself get lost in the dark, not when you still have a light waiting to guide you home.”

Thoughts:💡
This was good. I really liked the story even though I picked it up in the middle of the series. There was a bit of angst and loads of trauma but also a strong sense of perseverance in each of the characters. The FMC was really fierce and by the end of the story she was really starting to embrace her power and revel in her inner strength. The guys were completely “He Man - Alphaholes” but they worked well together as a team and created a family.
DreamScape did a decent job with the audio, it was fully casted with a line by line narration that was edited together really well. The narrators were okay. Tbh, I would have loved it, but the cadence they spoke with was frustrating. It was like their tone switched the slightest bit up at the end of their lines. It was just enough that it sounded like their speech had a sound curve. Some people might like it but I felt it detracted from the story and took away from the overall experience.

Fun Bits:
⚜️ She Saves Herself
⚜️ Then She Saves Them
⚜️ Dragons, Demons, and Basilisks Oh My!
⚜️ Funny Banter
⚜️ “Mine”, “Good Girl”, & LBATTDLAGG
⚜️ Jealous & OTT Possessive Alphas

✨Note✨Book 2, you should really read book 1 first, and this ends with a slight cliffy.

This book was giving The Bonds That Tie plus Shatter Me vibes and I was totally here for it!!

Without spoiling anything, I really loved the adventure in this book. Newly discovered powers, saving their girl, fighting off scary asf beasts (multiple times), astral projection type scenarios, and the depths of hell??? I need the next book ASAP!

We get a taste of the FMC opening up to her harem and some insight into some of the harem’s personal struggles. I can’t wait to see how these are continued to be explored in the next book. There are themes of self acceptance that were an emotional roller coaster.

Overall the narrators were amazing and a special thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

We pick up where we left off and our five (yes, five) Alphas are wildly searching for their captured mate. I liked the different individual stories and personalities of the guys and Kiarra’s magic was interesting as it developed.

The spice in the first half of the book was light but then it really picked up haha. It’s short and sucks you in to want to read the next one, though luckily it didn’t leave us on too much of a cliffhanger.

Thanks to #NetGallery and publisher for a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I think I can say I'm officially hooked on the romantasy genre. I received Blood and Wrath by Rumer Hale as an audiobook through Netgalley. It is the second book of the series that follows FMC Kiara and her 5 mates. The reverse harem trope is one thats new to me and its *spicy*.

A few thoughts on the writing:
The writing felt a little elementary to me. There was a lot of info dumping and I feel the world nd story building could have been done in a better way. The characters all have so much promise but I feel like I didn't see very much development at all. Perhaps as the series goes on, they grow into their roles a little better? Right now I just have 5 super jealous/possessive guys who have no reason to be jealous? The spicy scenes are definitely fun but again, the writing feels elementary. How many times did Kiara mention feeling "deliciously" full... is there not other words?

A few thoughts on the narration:
Its not easy for a single narrator to play the role of multiple characters across genders and I am thoroughly impressed. I was able to easily follow the dialogue and banter without needing the constant "so and so said" which is a feat in an of itself.

Overall: I give this 3 stars. Its entertaining. I really like the premise and the individual personalities but I wish there was more growth.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape media for allowing me to listen to an early copy of this amazing audiobook!

I consider myself an audiobook connoisseur and let me tell you, when I see a full cast I have heart eyes even before starting 😍

Blood and Wrath is book 2 in the Blood and Ruin series and as expected here the story picks up a lot.
I loved to discover more about the boys background and finally have their point of views! Add this to the full cast of voice actors and you are in for a wild ride.

In this book also the spice increases a lot and I suggest it to all the fans of The Bonds that Tie series. The vibe is the same. Brooding boys wanting to protect a much more powerful and badass girl!

As far as why choose fantasy romances go this one is a nice one. I liked the magic system and the character development, even though it’s just book two so I expect the plot to improve even more going forward ♥️

I thought the first book was decent, but this one left me disappointed. While at times it had some entertaining dialogue, overall the storyline was slow and generally uneventful. The characters had a lot of potential, but the writing never made me feel particularly interested in their journey. This is a series that I don't plan on finishing.

Kiarra is still in the clutches of King and her mates cannot find her. As it takes its toll on everyone a new dynamic is discovered and Kiarra becomes even more linked with her mates.

Much like the first, this is a very well done audiobook. This novel rotates between the five mates and Kiarra so the cast is much larger and they all do a great job of capturing the heart of their characters for a spot on narration. Very easy to listen to!

The novel itself again is not very deep. Our protagonist goes through some serious awfulness for about the first third and then the story is more about her discovering each one of her mates intimately while a thread of a story happens in the background. We are left with a set up for the next novel. Again there are scenes of torture, mutilation, abuse, manipulation. Know what you are comfortable with before picking up. 3 stars.

Review based on a Advanced Audiobook provided by Dreamscapes Media and NetGalley. Thank you!

I love getting multiple POV's in this book! And how much we learn about each of the guys! Can't wait to see where it goes from here!

I was so excited to get this audio version of Blood and Wrath. Sadly it did not live up to it's beautiful cover for me. If you're looking for a book that's ultra spicy with not a whole lot going on otherwise, this is for you. I'd say that 75% of this book was just Kierra having s$x with her 5 different mates, one after the other. As for the plot of the story, there was a bit at the front, and, of course, an excellent cliffhanger at the end.
Obviously I'm going to be ALL IN for book 3, but this one was more for background listening and didn't really have to focus too much on it to figure out what was going on.

Basically, we all know that Kierra was taken prisoner (queue book 1), and we get some insight into who has her and how she has been treated during her time of captivity. Meanwhile, her 5 mates are trying to figure out how to rescue her. At the same time, creatures are appearing from the underworld that need to be taken care of.

I have to say, the narrators were EXCELLENT throughout this!

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this advanced audio in return for my honest review.

I got a ALC of this which the narrators did a great job with what they had to work with. It's fantasy RH continuation and the story keeps going where they are reunited again. Story was not for me but the performance of the voice actors did an awesome job. The differne male actors was nice. Not a full cast but they do a good job. If you enjoyed reading the books I recommend listening to it! Good transitions between chapters and great emotion.

Lots of smex in this book and over the top possessive males. Story it self isn't the greatest it'd got a good YA feel but the smex parts definitely make it an adult fantasy.

I unfortunately don't think I'll read the third book. It doesn't feel like the story had enough to keep going. Maybe I wasn't following the story well enough. It didn't seem like there was enough character development or story building for me.

I love this series! Blood & Wrath is just as good if not better than Blood & Ruin because we finally have our six main characters together, and all the romance action finally gets real.
We start with Kiara still captured, and our five alphas are desperately searching for and trying to rescue her. Once there’s a reunion (how could there not be), they begin a mission to save the city from some new foes, all while enjoying their mates in a new, more profound way.
I never knew how much I loved reverse harem stories until Blood & Ruin, and I love the RH style just as much in Blood & Wrath. I CANNOT WAIT to listen to Blood & Reign!
Okay, my cons: The world-building is lacking. I am confused about how, in book one, they’re in a place called Cardinal Three, and now they’re in Manhattan, New York (presumably). Is it our Manhattan? Does the whole human world know of the supernatural existence? Or only some people? I need more information. I also want more background on the alphas. Who they are, how they became alphas, what that means, and their roles. I also want to know more about the underworld's role in this universe.
I love that we got more information about Kiara’s background! It broadened her character and made her more three-dimensional.
The Kiara narrator did another fantastic job. We have multiple points of view in this installment, so various narrators. One of the male narrators was not my favorite as he got pretty breathy, like he couldn’t catch his breath while talking. It got annoying, especially during an intimate scene he narrated—other than that, no complaints.

Another 5 Stars and 5 Spices!

Thank you, NetGalley, for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! Please gift me an ARC of Blood & Reign when it’s available! I can’t wait to learn what happens and read more spicy spicy between our MCs.
Thank you, Rumer Hale, for this fantastic book and book series!
