Could this be any cuter? I think not. The story itself is fantastic and the illustrations are beautiful. Walter is unabashedly himself! My daughter thought he was very cool!

What a cutie little bug - Walter aka Goth Moth!
This story follows a shy moth that dreams of being a drummer. Despite being surrounded by other bugs that prefer the quiet night, Walter aka Goth Moth braves the daytime to seek his dream of drumming and meeting his idol, Jitterbug.
What a short and sweet story about seeking out your interests and meeting those that share in them with you.
I would have liked a bit more discourse on finding you right people and seeking your dreams, but it’s subtly there.
Between the fun quick rhymes and absolutely adorable illustrations, I’d buy and red this series with my kiddos.
Thanks NetGalley and NorthSouth Books Inc. for the ARC of this book.

As a goth person I love to see little representations like this. This story was so cute and fun and I adore that it's actually a children's book!!!! I hope there are more to come of this character

Oh my goodness what an adorable little story as cute as the illustrations about a moth who dreams of drumming and meeting his favorite rockstar, Jitterbug.

An adorable story about goth moth who is shy but has a passion for music and drumming. He is desperate to see one of his favourite artists live and gives the reader insight into it's life and how a dream has the potential of being a reality. Told through detailed and cute imagery this picture book was fun to read and one the younger reader would enjoy.

A cute and upbeat celebration of music, set upon a secluded nighttime world filled with darkness and shadows. This book encourages us all to step into the light.

"Goth Moth" is a super cute book that tells its story in fun rhymes, making it even more adorable. The main character, Goth Moth, is just too cute to resist, and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful, like eye candy on every page.
But it's not just about looking pretty; there's a really nice message tucked inside about being different and chasing your dreams. It's all about doing what makes you happy and being proud of who you are. It's a book that'll make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, and it's great for kids and grown-ups alike. So, if you're looking for a feel-good read that'll leave you smiling, "Goth Moth" is definitely the way to go!

This story was unique and kids are going to have a fun time reading it. The illustrations are well-designed. The story is about a goth moth who dreams of becoming a rock star like his idol. This book can teach kids not to listen to the negatives. Their dreams are worth it. They can keep going after their dreams and find people who believe in them. Most importantly they can learn to believe in themselves. I would suggest this to any parent of elementary school-aged kids.
Love Always, Catherine
I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Fun book for families to who are more alternative or for Halloween and really fun. I love Goth Moth. He’s so cute and I’m glad he got to fulfill his dream!

I know this is a kids book and not my genre to usually review but ima run out and buy this for all the kids in my LIFE because it is so DING DANG CUTE. WHO COULD SAY NO TO THAT LIL FACE? THOSE BIG OLE GLASSES? THOSE DRUMMING SKILLS?
its super cute and thanks netgalley for this lil treat.

This was absolutely adorable, I read it to my two kids and they loved Walter. My son wants to get a drum set now and be just like “goth moth” . The story is so cute and the illustrations were amazing for both child and adult. I will definitely be purchasing a finished copy!

I love Goth Moth! It’s cute and sweet, a story with a message. I love that it rhymes, the illustrations en and the use of color.
I hope this one gets translated to Dutch!
I would definitly buy this for my own collection.

Super cute! I love the sweet story and the colors and illustrations are so great. That artistic style is definitely up my alley. Now I need to go read book 1!

This was a cute story! It is a translation from German. I assume the story is the same, or nearly the same, in both languages. I loved the illustrations and hope I get to see a hard copy just for those! I am sure young children will relate to little Goth Moth meeting his idol. I think it's going to be a rare preschooler who will sit through a telling of the tale, but K-3 might really enjoy hearing, and reading, the lovely rhyming text.

Goth Moth is a cute story for the early elementary school crowd. It's about a shy moth named Walter who wants to be a drummer, and it would be perfect for any child who enjoys music, especially of the rock n' roll variety.
The illustrations are absolutely adorable and Walter is quite possibly the cutest bug I've ever seen. I love the little skulls on his wings – what could possibly be more moth-goth than that? The color scheme is mostly browns and other darker hues, with only Jitterbug (Walter's favorite rocker) standing out in a bright, vibrant pink.
The album covers featuring “Metallicicada,” “Iron Mantis,” “Möth Crüe,” and “Def Lepidoptera” are amusing easter eggs for the adults. I'm not exactly sure that these count as goth bands (there needs to be a “My Chemical Ro-moth” or something), but it's still a fun little detail.
The language in this one isn't too complicated, although there are some big words like “transfixed,” “percussion,” and “noiselessly” that even kids in the upper end of the age range might need help with. The text is fast-paced and rhymes, although I found the cadence of the rhyme to be questionable at times – it doesn't always flow smoothly and I stumbled over words in certain parts because there were extra (or missing) syllables that I wasn't expecting. I'm guessing this has to do with it being a translated text – I imagine it's difficult to perfectly translate rhyming German into English.
Goth Moth has a positive message, too – Walter wants to be a drummer, so he conquers his fears and makes it happen … and even gets some praise from his idol in the process!
Overall, this is a delightful book that will likely appeal to young children interested in bugs, music, and/or rhymes. The rhyming isn't always perfect, but it more than makes up for it with the wonderful illustrations and exciting text. 3.97 stars, rounded up.
Many thanks to NetGalley and NorthSouth Books for providing me with an advance (English) copy of this book to review.

I love the illustrations for this book. Absolutely beautiful. This rhythmic story is very cute and endearing. It shows if you don’t fit in, an environment change may be all you need to find your people. Very cute book.

Goth Moth is a cool representation of the "Goth" subculture for kids, and I loved how it incorporated the Jitterbug character. Highly recommend!

I went into this knowing very little but as I mentioned in my last review, I'm wanting to get into more Children's Fiction and this cover caught my eye, it's about a Goth Moth who wants to be a drummer and I think it's fun to go in knowing very little else about this one. I loved it, the art style was adorable and the story was really sweet, about not needing to fit in to be accepted, how it's okay to be different.
I was sent this e-Arc on Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Absolutely adorable with fantastic illustrations. A story that shows you it’s good to be unique and march to the beat of your drum.
Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for allowing me to read this arc.

3.5 stars. I picked this up because I work with underappreciated pollinators, so I was excited to see a story about a moth! This book is not about moths, it’s instead about a moth who loves playing drums but has no one around him who shares or values his passion. The book’s rhyming is okay, some rhymes are stronger than others, but it is catchy enough for a young learner. I’m really curious about how you translate rhymes from one language to another, I think you can tell there’s some awkwardness there. The message or lesson is the hardest part to wrap my head around. I *think* the author is trying to make a point about being brave when things are scary can garner great reward like new friends and rewarding experiences, but I wish there was some explicit closing of this, especially because the moth is still alone at the end. Beautiful illustrations though.
