This book sheds light on how, despite all the data out there, neither brands nor consumers are really getting the most out of digital marketing today. The author suggests that marketers need to build more trust and transparency with us, so we get useful information instead of endless, empty repeated messages. It's an invitation for anyone in marketing to rethink how they use data to genuinely benefit both sides of the business relationship.

Arun Kumar's THE DATA DELUGE could not come at a better time -- when real people must face the overwhelming and contradictory floods of information, messages, and exhortations to buy, think, do a certain way. Exhorting marketing and management professionals to take the lead in setting boundaries, guidelines, and establishing trustworthy communications with intelligence and respect, Kumar presents an authoritative, powerful, and convincing case -- and I dearly hope that those in marketing leadership roles adopt his forward action and shape a different, productive conversation that genuinely serves individuals and the greater good. I received a copy of this book and these thoughts are my own, unbiased thoughts.
