The book is intended to be educational for younger kids. It focuses on shapes and patterns, so the variation in colors, shapes, lines, etc. is eye-catching. The pictures are readily recognizable, and will help kids make connections to shapes in their environment.

I expected, from the title, that it would be limited to stripes, but that's not the case. It's a play on how lines can alter shapes, so I can stretch to see the connection. It's also not just about zebras. That's something to be aware of if you have a kiddo who is really into them -- this book will disappoint because it's more broad than that.

Overall, this is a good book. It will be helpful in teaching shapes and variations.

I read this to the kids I nanny and they loved the story so much. They gave it their thumbs up approval of "silly"!
