What a great book club summer read! This book follows businesswoman Josie, who is the owner and CEO of her own fashion company. This book did a great job of conveying the struggles women often experience in the corporate world. Josie is at a point in her life where she's been hustling nonstop for so long and is feeling burnt out and starting to question what makes her happy, things I think many readers can relate to. The chemistry between Josie and Will was great and I thought the strong female friendships were critical to telling Josie's story. I would recommend this to readers looking for a sweet romance with a strong female lead.

The most perfect book club book for your gal pals to read this summer!
if you like: powerful boss women characters, a business/pleasure romance, Austin, Texas - this book is for you! Josephine is a strong, independent woman, CEO, overall boss, and has her life on track - until she literally runs into a blast from the past! You won’t want to put this down.

This was a cute read. I connected with Josie and the general representation of women in corporate America. Trying to find a good work/life balance is hard and I felt this was accurately depicted in this book. The use of pop culture references was great!

Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the Advance Reader's copy of Perfect Fit by Clare Gilmore. I enjoyed this book, but I had a hard time connecting with the main character, who was also the narrator. The author creates an interesting plot with a young female CEO at the center, which was a first for me in a romance novel. I really enjoyed Josephine's close relationships and those characters, but I hard time relating to her on several levels. Her professional interests in fashion, emotional issues and the novel's setting were challenging for me to like and so I struggled to connect with Josephine and her story. A personal connection with characters through the author's prose really elevates a novel for me. Josephine faces professional challenges with her company, her friends and an old flame who comes back into her life in a professional role. She struggles to navigate all of her relationships, but her problems resolve and her relationships all end up on a happy note. She found her HEA which was a relief. Overall a good plot and strong character development but not a favorite read for me.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Perfect Fit is the story of Josie, a burnt out 28 year old CEO who ends up reconnecting and working with the guy who ruined her high school reputation. Clare Gilmore does an amazing job depicting the lives of milenni women in corporate America: trying to find a work life balance, maintaining female friendships, dating, planning bachelorette parties, and trying not to doomscroll.
This novel really surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to like it so much. The pop culture references were SO current that I think the book may age quickly, but it was refreshing to read a book so topical.

Josephine is the CEO of a clothing brand that she started on her own at a very young age. Will is the twin brother of her high school best friend who is now a consultant. She hires him to help her and they reconnect. This story does a great job with the topic of burnout and being able to reevaluate your life at anytime and change what you want to do. Will and Josephine's relationship was so sweet and they communicated very well. I highly recommend this book.

This was my first Clare Gilmore book, and I'm looking forward to reading more! I enjoyed the premise of the story (and Josie being the CEO!) as well as the character development throughout the book. Flew through it pretty quickly and thought the book was quite engaging!
Thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for honest review!

This book was cute! I was drawn to it from the cover and and I wasn’t disappointed. The chemistry between the two main characters is there from the very beginning. The story had a lot of depth to it with real world struggles and I appreciated that.

I liked the idea behind the story, but I really don’t enjoy when novels use hyper-current references - I think there’s an element of suspending belief that’s required while reading romance novels and it takes me out of it when the Barbie movie is referenced. I also wish Josie’s growth was less motivated and influenced by Will and she grew more on her own but overall, I did have a good time.

I really enjoyed this book by Clare.
I choked up a bit at first with Josie and her overwork and routine, the need to always cover and attend to all work needs, but resilient is a reality we face today in our jobs.
However I really liked her character and independence, that's something I always value in a book.
It is a nice book, quick to read, with a very unexpected but very nice love. I totally recommend it.

Five stars a love swoon book. Josie and Will start out having a love/hate relationship but feelings building while working together. This is perfect love story with a mix of friendly banter and a love story.

This is such a great book, full of second chances and long-lost love, I wanted to read something that would sweep me away and this was it. Ellie Gilmore is such a good writer, this novel had so much promise, this had me laughing at every page. Will Grant, had me smiling. Thank you very to the publisher for this opportunity, I loved it so, so much.

‘Perfect Fit’ highlights the importance of recognizing when change is needed and accepting that life may look different to anything you could have ever imagined. I absolutely loved this book and the refreshing, healthy relationship between Josie and Will that had me rooting for them from page one! Clare Gilmore is an incredible author, and I cannot recommend ‘Perfect Fit’ enough!

I liked this book, but some things bothered me. This story was about Josie, the CEO of a fashion brand she started. The first chapter for sure grabbed my attention with the questioning about who you remember from high school, but the next chapters were not as captivating. The book was supposed to be a romance one, but I found that it lacked a certain chemistry between Josie and Will, the male interest. The beginning of the book was mostly about Josie’s company and less about the characters getting to know each other. Because they knew one another when they were younger, I felt like the author made it seem like there was not much catching up to do even if nine years had passed. Overall, it was cute, but I would have liked the book to focus more on the relationship than Josie’s burnout.
Thanks to NetGalley for an arc of this book.

This book was un put down able for me. What do you do with your life when you realize the goals you are chasing aren’t fulfilling you, but merely filling your life instead? Josie and Will get a second chance at love when they are older and wiser, and this time they aren’t letting life get in the way. A sweet romance with substance, and a plot with depth.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher of this book in exchange for my review.

CLARE GILMORE DOES IT AGAIN! Her sophomore romance novel, Perfect Fit, is such a lovely book. Lately I’ve been leaning towards romance novels that are a bit more complex and have strong themes (like EmHen and Abby Jimenez) and this one is exactly what I have been looking for.
There are so many tropes (second chance/history together <3) in this book that I adore and it worked so well for these characters’ personalities. And Will is an acts of service KINGGG! I’m obsessed !!!! Their chemistry is so noticeable right from the beginning. Perfect Fit touched on friendships, cancel culture, life working a corporate job, and more. I heavily recommend this book, especially if you loved Love Interest.
Thank you SMP & Clare for the advanced copy. Perfect Fit releases Oct 29!!

In Clare Gilmore's captivating novel, Perfect Fit, Josie Davis's life takes an unexpected turn when she collides with Will, a biker and the twin brother of her former best friend. The two share a complicated past, having shared a mistaken kiss in high school.
As the CEO of Relevant, a fashion brand in Austin, Josie is a rising star constantly hustling to keep up with the demands of her job. When her main investor requires a consultant, Josie's path crosses with Will's once again. This chance encounter sparks a second chance at love, but Josie must confront whether she can prioritize her feelings over her company's success.
I adored the kind and compassionate nature of both Josie and Will, and how Will consistently showed up for Josie. The scene where Will helps Josie with a bachelorette party is particularly swoon-worthy!
While I enjoyed Gilmore's debut novel, Love Interest, Perfect Fit surpasses it in my opinion. If you're looking for a heartwarming romance with relatable characters, Perfect Fit is a must-read. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for providing an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Perfect Fit" by Clare Gilmore is an engaging and heartfelt rom-com that truly resonated with me. Josie and Will’s chemistry is electric, and their journey from old acquaintances to something more is beautifully written. I appreciated the emphasis on strong female friendships and the authentic portrayal of the challenges faced by a modern working woman. The absence of a third-act breakup was a refreshing change, and the character development was spot-on. This novel had me laughing, swooning, and reflecting on the importance of balance in life. A delightful read that I highly recommend!

3.5 / This was cute! I would recommend as a quick and relatively light hearted read! I really appreciated the sweet, vulnerable moments that Josie and Will shared. I loved the way the story was set up, with the fashion brand and busy CEO life.
However, I really couldn’t connect with the characters and struggled to see the chemistry, it felt very insta-love, especially since they never had a relationship or connection prior to the start of the story.
Parts of the book also felt rushed and incomplete. I wished we got to see more of the work setting and the business milestones. I also would’ve loved to see more to Will! Especially when it came his own work setting and passions!
This was my first book by Clare Gilmore and I’m excited to read more!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun, light-hearted rom com! I definitely connected to Josie being a workaholic and struggling with thinking her career is the most important thing. I thought her and Will had good chemistry throughout the book, and enjoyed how their relationship grew throughout the book. Some parts felt a little drawn out through the book, and I think that includes some of the parts with Josie & Zoe and their prior friendship. However, I still really enjoyed this story and would recommend it!
