I loved this book, and I loved seeing the characters getting their second chance romance. Great chemistry and easy to love characters. I especially loved how the ending was structured, Clare did a great job of making it unique and not the same as every other romance book.

Thank you netgalley for this arc!
rating: 2 stars

This book was sweet and cute, but I could not connect with the characters the way I wished I could. Also, the italics definitely sort of ruined it for me, there were just too many. The writing felt a bit immature at times. Really wanted to love it. Just wasn't for me.

Will Grant!!!! I highlighted so many of his lines to read on a rainy day. What a sweet story and so relatable with struggles of burnout, trying to decide what’s next, and feeling out the balance of fair/not fair in relationships. Really loved them together! I felt a little unfulfilled not getting a full picture of what happened with her professional journey. I’m sure that was intentional to make us think but it took me out of the romance a bit. Overall really loved it and esp love Will!

Clare is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I underlined so many sentences in this book it is practically all blue. Also, it was my first ARC and I couldn’t have asked for a better send of ❣️

2.5/5⭐️.

i enjoyed how easy & light this read felt. it was a good pallet cleanser after finishing a series and a quick standalone book. i loved the friendship between josie and cami throughout the book, it was so sweet to see the two characters interact.

my biggest pet peeve about this book was the constant italics. it felt like emphasis was being taken away from other words that should’ve been more important. i also felt like the characters lacked depth, it felt hard to connect to them. also beware of some typos! i noticed one at the beginning of chapter 17.

thank you so much for this arc, i appreciate it! i’m definitely going to look into this author’s works for future!

Perfect Fit is so cute, fun and a perfect summer read! I loved how the backstory is woven throughout the story until we understand the relationship between Josie and Will. The characters are very well developed and I felt like I thoroughly knew them by the end. Definitely recommend for a super cute read!

Josephine Davis has spent her entire twenties building Revenant, a fashion brand headquartered in downtown Austin. When her biggest investor orders Josie to hire a consultant, the last person she expects to be working with is Will Grant – the twin brother of her ex best friend.

Sure, Will and Josie may have shared one mistake of a kiss during senior spring break nine years ago, but they’ve never been friends. She remembers him as moody; he always thought of her as shallow. Romance isn’t on the table for either of them until they blink, and realize there’s a reason they can’t stay away from each other.

But there’s Will’s sister to consider, whom Josie hasn’t spoken with since their falling out. Not to mention, Will and Josie live seventeen hundred miles apart. And it’s not like she has time for a boyfriend anyway when she’s an overworked CEO. As Josie’s burnout looms while she falls deeper and harder for Will, she contends with the fact that eventually, she’ll have to make a choice: stay alone to be productive, or slow down to be in love.

I really enjoyed Love Interest from Gilmore, so I was looking forward to this one. This delves into a lot about insecurities and having a hard time accepting love from others, and it does a really great job in a non-preachy way. I love Josie and her issues, and Will is the perfect fit for her. Highly recommend this wonderful book!

I really love this! This was my first Claire Gilmore book, but it certainly won’t be my last, and I’m going to go seek out her first novel. This story follows Josie, who is a young CEO of a clothing company, who runs into someone from her past and, surprise surprise given the genre, even with their history they end up falling for each other. This book was more than your typical light romcom and perfect for fans of Emily Henry. Thank you to Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for this eARC..

I am definitely in the minority here, but this book and I just didn’t click. It’s not you, it’s me??

To be fair, I had just finished what has become one of my favorite romance books ever, and this one just didn’t measure up for me afterward.

It just felt a little rushed at the beginning, and I didn’t have time to actually know either of our main characters. I would have loved more interaction between them in the first part of the book, but it seemed as though they “liked each other in high school” and that was the crux of their entire relationship. The chemistry towards the end of the book did pick up and boosted this to 3/5 for me.

What I liked:
👗female friendship
👗no third act breakup
👗hero is obsessed
👗second chance romance

Romcoms are so back!! I loved the female friendship representation, the pining, the overall premise. This was so much fun to read, which isn't an experience I have had with a ton of romance reads recently. The epilogue felt sort of abrupt but everything else was thoughtful and well written.

5/5 stars! I LOVED everything about this book!

When Will Davis, NYC consultant and the ex-best friend's twin brother, literally runs into Josephine Davis, now CEO of a growing fashion brand, things start to change for the two of them. Josie slowly discovers that work isn't everything life has to offer as she rekindles her friendship with Will, which ultimately turns into more.

Overall, this book was so incredibly well written. I was enthralled the entire time I was reading it, there wasn't a single moment that I was bored or left wanting for more. The plot moved at a great pace and the chemistry between the main characters was unmatched. I also loved how much of a role the supporting characters played.

My only qualm with the entire book was the epilogue felt slightly rushed and ended rather abruptly (I didn't really get what the last line was going for honestly, which could just be a me problem), but that's something I can easily look past considering the rest of the book was fantastic.

Needless to say, I will be recommending this book to literally anyone who will listen to me. This is easily one of my favorite reads of the year so far!

4.75 stars!!! WOW, this was a nearly perfect book to me. I loved the characters, and I love that reading this book felt so refreshing and not like everything else I’ve already read. As someone who majored in fashion merchandising in college I especially enjoyed the back story and details of Revenant. I also loved the weekend on Broadway for the bachelorette, it was written so accurately (& from someone who lives in Nashville, hilarious to read about). But even without those connections, I still believe I would’ve loved this book. The writing was so effortless and fun to read, I could barely put this book down. I wouldn’t consider this a slow burn romance by any means, but I really appreciate the time and effort that went into giving Josie & Will a realistic seeming relationship! (Also the fact that there was no 3rd act breakup really sealed the deal that this book was amazing!) I will 100% recommend this book and look forward to whatever this author is going to write next! I would say if you enjoy books by Emily Henry or Sarah Adams, give this author a chance! Thank you to NetGalley, the Publisher, and Clare Gilmore for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Clare Gilmore offers such a fresh voice to the contemporary romance space! I loved her debut, Love Interest, and was eager to get my hands on her sophomore novel Perfect Fit. Thank you to St. Martin's and NetGalley for the e-arc!

Perfect Fit was everything I wanted and more. It follows Josie, a late 20s exhausted zillenial who has "girlbossed too close to the sun." Josie runs into her best friend's brother (or rather, he runs into her... literally) and they embark on a professional, work relationship while also untangling years of assumptions, hurt, and finding worth in all the wrong places. Of course, they also find love along the way.

Clare's writing is witty, relevant, and gets you right in your feelings when you least expect it. Perfect Fit is a must-read for 2024 and Clare Gilmore is an auto-buy author for me after 2 knock-outs in her first two books. If you have a complicated relationship with work-- wanting to prove yourself and live a meaningful existence but also craving a softer life-- this book is especially for you!

Female CEO and consultant/ex-best-friend's-brother find each other 9 years after a kiss that ruins relationships.

I was drawn to this book because I've only heard good things about Gilmore's first book, Love Interest, but while this book was brilliantly written, I wasn't obsessed with it. Firstly, the ideas about being young and free in your twenties looking a certain way never sits right with me. Secondly, the massive amounts of pop culture reference (lotsss of Taylor Swift ones) that I won't understand in 5 years is a turn off for me. Clearly, these are all personal icks in a book for me, so I do think that many people could enjoy this book and give it five stars.

I did really love both characters, though. You can see their flaws and how they try to overcome them. This really is just a fun, silly read that's written well.

Solid 3.5

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for sending this DRC for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

CW: grandparent death, infidelity

4.5 stars! This was my first book by the author, but it won't be my last. I loved the tropes: Second chance, ex best friend's brother, found family. I loved the banter between all the characters. It had me giggling and laughing out loud. I loved the friendship theme and Josie's and Cami's friendship. Will was amazing. The The Summer I Turned Pretty reference was bittersweet due to the fact that we aren't getting season three this summer like many of us hoped and thought. And being a Nashville Predators fan I love that it was set in Nashville and the Preds references throughout the book. The reason this isn't a five-star read for me is that it's only told from Josie's POV and I would have loved Will's POV as well. The ending was also left open-ended and I didn't love that. I definitely recommend this if you're looking for a romance with friendship and laugh-out-loud banter!

This was a darling second book from Clare Gilmore. I enjoyed the characters & the relationships they shared. This book showcased self-love, friendship love, romantic love, and even loving what you do and how you spend your time. It was a quick easy read with enough depth to not feel like a complete fluff piece.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone.

This was such a cute and easy read. It follows Josie, the head of a successful fashion company, who literally drives into Will, her ex-best friend's brother, who she hasn't seen since high school. Will winds up consulting with her company and the two get to know each other again. It touches a lot on the hustle culture, her struggle with work-life balance, her insecurities, and her burnout. There was a slight second chance aspect to it. Clare Gilmore is 3/3 for me.
