I have had this one on my TBR for years. I finally got around to reading it. I have mixed feelings. I thought it was funny in parts. I did like the attraction between the main characters. However, there was a HUGE lack of communication and that got very old after a while. I'm also not a fan of holding back information for someone's "own good". That clearly never works. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

This was a fun read and I loved the humor.
Many thanks to Forever and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a fun read with a mix of fantasy, imagined romance, gods and goddesses and plans for world domination.

Emma Keane is 22 and has had a male voice in her head nearly her whole life. When he reveals that he was cursed and is stuck in a prison that only Emma can free him from she takes the opportunity to finally be rid of him so she can live a normal life.

I have no idea what happens in this story since I had to give up at 28%. Totally disappointing because I have others in this series. It’s possible the writing gets better. I mean, it can’t get any worse, right? Emma is a terrible heroine. She plays at being strong, but she’s a complete pushover and stupid on top of it. But she is nothing compared to the fucktard in her head. An asshole of the first order. And yet Emma is completely in love with this disembodied voice. In her head. Who tells her nothing about himself, he lies, and is a jerkwad of epic proportions. No. Just, no. I wash my hands of these two distasteful characters.
