This was a ridiculous and fun time. I would highly recommend this book to romance readers who enjoy whirlwind instalust romances filled with soap opera levels of drama. The dialogue felt a little over the top cringey at times, but it was just as messy as I would expect any real life rockstar romance to be. The narrators did a fantastic job on the audiobook, I know I wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much had I read it physically. They really brought the characters to life and made this very dynamic/easy to listen to. Overall, this was a fun read and I’m glad I picked it up.

I almost forgot how much I love rockstar romance and then Cassandra came barreling in with Reign and I'm about to go on a whole rocker kick again. Reign was absolutely fantastic. I had such a hard time getting anything done the past 24 hours, I couldn't put it down!

I loved Ammo wayyyyy more than I was expecting. I knew I was going to find him hot. What I didn't expect was to find him sweet and endearing and to watch him break down Courtney's walls brick by brick. He was the solid one in this relationship with Courtney having been broken a time too many with the insecurities to match. His demeanor towards her absolutely melted my heart and had me swooning in ways only a Rock God can.

I loved seeing everyone from the Disciples world again including our favorite defense attorney, Jett Powers. It's such a great world spanning three series (four plus if you count Serena Akeroyd's crossovers) and I can't wait for more, especially from this series.

The audio was so so good. I absolutely loved Angelina Rocca and Corvin King narrating this story, they did such a wonderful job.

This book is a favorite of mine from Cassandra Robbins. Loved reading the story of two troubled rock stars Ammo and Courtney. Despite their rocky start and drama/problems throughout the book in the end they got their HEA. Lost a lot of sleep when I started this in the evening. Just couldn't turn it off. A great story!

It was fun, it was hot, it was romantic, I liked it more than I thought. I couldn't stop until I finished. Well written and engaging.

The narration was ok for Courtney, just found Ammo to be a little annoying as he was dragging his words, he sounded high. However, they were able to convey emotions and actions very well.

If you're looking for an angsty, depraved, rockstar romance with a touch of suspense and a whole lot of spice, look no further.

Courtney is a childhood star turned rock princess who decides to quit her band and take on a solo career after her ex-best friend and bandmate announces she's pregnant with Courtney's ex-boyfriend's baby following their affair.

Courtney finds herself in a tough position of not knowing who she can trust when her ex boyfriend, ex best friend, mother and others have betrayed her repeatedly. Now, her manager is trying to get her to work with a legendary rockstar producer who she can't stand.

The way Ammo is the epitome of the rockstar stereotype then becomes a complete and utter simp for Courtney was everything I didn't know I needed from him. His character development was fantastic. In the beginning, he gives us all the arrogant, swaggering, alpha-hole-ness you would expect from a legendary rockstar and producer, but once he realizes he doesn't hate Courtney as much as he wants to, he becomes the protective and possessive alpha-hole who just wants to keep his girl safe and see her shine. It was truly magnificent to see Ammo's growth.

Now I will say, this book is heavy on the lust and light on the love. I would have liked to see a bit more of their relationship develop through connection beyond just physical. Ammo and Courtney used sex to fix literally every situation and I would have liked for them to have more deep and meaningful conversations to help develop their relationship a bit more.

This book was far from perfect, and yet I loved and devoured it anyway.

Corvin King and Angelina Rocca absolutely nailed this audiobook. 10/10 performance - I have no notes. They kept me engaged and not wanting to stop. Once I started this audiobook, I didn't stop listening until it was over.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

Synopsis
Courtney's boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. She has a difficult time coping with this betrayal, so she decides to go solo. Marshall "Ammo" Adams, a famous guitarist is hired to help produce Courtney's solo album. Ammo is a known cocky playboy that loves having women fall at his feet. Courtney hates Ammo.

- Enemies to lovers
- Playboy turned monogamous
- Protective alpha male
- Rockstar romance

My Opinion
I received the ALC of Reign and struggled with Corvin King's narration. I realize Ammo is supposed to sound cocky and arrogant, but he came across as very unlikeable.

When the story started, I wondered if there was going to be any storyline or if I was just going to be listening to an eight hour erotica. However, I realized the perceived "erotica" was part of the storyline because Ammo's character is supposed to be a playboy, turned monogamous good boy. The overall story was really great, but all the good stuff happened at the very end.

Rating
3.5 stars; It was good and I will recommend to others.
4 spicy pepper emojis; At least two open door scenes. Explicit language with a variety of sexual acts.

There was a short pause after each sentence and it was a bit awkward listening to the audiobook. The story was great, characters were interesting and very entertaining.

Quick Summary: A down and dirty rocker romance

My Review: Reign by Cassandra Robbins is book #2 in the Rock God series. The story involves a bad boy with a cocky attitude and the talent to go with it and a misunderstood singer who grew up in the limelight and suffered greatly for it.

About the Book: Two rock artists enter into a contract to work together. Although they don't like each other very much, they are both drawn to one another. Not only do they have an intense chemistry, but they also make beautiful music together. When a dark threat comes between them, all hell breaks loose.

About the Narration: Corvin King and Angelina Rocca did a stellar job with this story. They communicated the emotions of the characters so well. They brought the story to life in such a way that I could see the action play out. I was enthralled the entire time.

My Final Say: Oh my darn! That was seriously hot. I'm not even kidding. I can barely get my review posted because my mind is completely blown to bits. This was a straight up rock romance. It had all the behind the scenes drama, all the feels, and all the sexy spice.

Other: This novel is rated M and gets a 🚨. Readers should be mindful that it is somewhat dark and that there are triggers.
