Super fan of all things Samantha Chase! I can’t get enough of her series about the Donovan Family.
This latest installment finds Ashlynn Donovan getting fired from her job in typical Ashlynn style. Life for Ashlynn just keeps getting worse when her high school arch nemesis comes back to town. Reid Baylor spent some of his favorite informative years in Sweet Briar, and has just landed a sweet position with the fire department.
Ashlynn and Reid can’t help but cross paths whether they want to or not, but this isn’t your typical HEA romance, the lies that are spread around town are sure to sink even the best relationship!

So sexy dinner?"

"All that matters is that the only thing on the menu is you, sweet girl."

Sexy dinner plans were his new favorite thing!

A lot of smiles, some blushes, and a bit of drama make the sweet romance Teasing You by accomplished romance author Samantha Chase a pleasing relaxing listen.

Ashlynn Donovan is having a bad day. First losing her job at the only hair salon in town and then running into firefighter Reid Baylor, who is unexpectedly back in town after years away. Of course, their encounter is as embarrassing as when the same thing happened in high school.

Poor Reid is so happy to just see Ashlynn, he is taken back by her anger at him. At times it was funny how often Ashlynn was annoyed with him and how he kept innocently doing things to irk her; it was also, at times, slightly infuriating to constantly hear Ashlynn lose her temper over the smallest misstep. I kept reminding myself she is young and has been dealing with family drama and an ex boss who is without doubt a bully.

When Reid rents the apartment upstairs they can't help but see each other and soon the attraction from high school is rekindled, despite Reid's cruel decision that broke Ashlynn's heart at the time. But before we can say happily ever after Ashlynn is suspected of burning down her former employer's business and firefighter Reid is warned to break ties with her or possibly lose his hard fought career.

The always reliable talented voice actress Carly Robins brings all the angst, drama, humor and sexy time that this writer is guaranteed to create for her romance series.

Teasing You is book 2 of The Donovan (Sweetbriar Ridge) series. It's an easy standalone audiobook but why tease yourself when you can enjoy a whole series of sweet romance.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from Dreamscape Media via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Being fired from the town’s beauty salon is a case of good news/bad news as it will now give Ashlyn the opportunity to open her own salon. Between the stress of opening her own business and the drama her boss is initiating it begins to create some turmoil is the romantic relationship she has been building with Reid.

Reid has recently returned home to take a job at the fire department. When he sees Ashlyn again there is no denying the feelings between them however things become complicated when the situation, she finds herself in could threaten his career and choices must be made.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Reid and Ashlyn unfold as with the help of their friends and family they acknowledge the mistakes they made along the way while understanding they are meant to be together. I enjoyed the performance of the narrator as she brought out both the emotion and romance of this couple.

I think that this is my Fourth Samantha Chase book, & It’s the second one that *FOR ME* the FMC is almost unbearable. Just so young & doesn’t understand the rules of adulthood, making it hard to get though. But there’s some cute parts of this one! I’m not saying don’t read this I’m just saying it’s not my cup of tea

And we are back with the beautifully chiseled characters and small town life that is 𝚂𝚊𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚑𝚊 𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚜𝚎'𝚜 trademark. We dive right back into Sweetbriar Ridge and follow Reid and Ashlynn on their journey.

As a firefighter's wife & firefighter's mom, I adore books with firefighters in them, so I was excited to get lost in this one. Reid was quite the yummy firefighter! I adored his character so much. He once crushed on Ashlynn, many moons ago, and now that he's back in town, on the department, he sees her again, the sparks are still there. But, it's not long before things with Ashlynn go awry. Fates seem to be against them and struggles ensue as they try to find their way.

𝚂𝚊𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚑𝚊 𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚜𝚎 did a wonderful job at creating their story. I found myself smiling and wishing I was Ashlynn so many times! The chemistry that flies between her and Reid is off the charts and absolutely addictive!

𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑦 𝑅𝑜𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑠 is one of my top female narrators so getting to hear her, once again, breath life into Reid & Ashlynn was a delight! She seamlessly goes between her male and female voices beautifully and truly did a wonderful job at portraying these heart stealing characters.

I definitely recommend you grab this one up! It's a quick sizzle, low steam, frenemies to lovers romance! You'll find it full of second chances, heart warming characters that make you swoon, and so much more!

* Small town
* Hairstylist FMC
* Firefighter MMC

I really enjoyed this audio Ashlynn & Reid were great together. There might have been some head shaking and some what the heck moments while listening. But I loved every second of listening to it!
Did I want to smack Reid a few times OH YEAH!! But most MMC's need a smack.

A typical small town romance. Reid was sweet, being a Fire Wife some of the fire house related things just didn't work for me. All in all a sweet quick listen.

I am loving The Donovans series by Samantha Chase. I listened to the audiobook version of this story narrated by Carly Robins. She did an excellent job lending her voice as Ashlynn and other characters.
Blast from the past. Reid returns to his hometown and back into Ashlynn’s life. Hot firefighter still has a thing for the local hairdresser. Chance run ins and Reid’s persistent nature send Ashlynn into a whirlwind of events.
True to Samantha Chase writing style this is another good book added to her roster. I like how each series follows a family. you know them like one of your own family members. keeps me coming back book after book.

I received a copy of this audiobook for my honest feedback

This is a small town second chance romance. I really enjoyed the narration on this book, but when it came down to it, I stopped listening about 50% through and just didn't want to pick it back up. I think it is a mood read for me, I have no complaints about the story - just when I picked it up.

This is the second installment in the series and the plotline was smooth and easy just like the book one of the series. The characters are wonderful and specially the main characters were so good. The writing and the narration of the author is something I adore the most and that too in Audiobook was a cherry on the cake. I had a great time reading this. Eagerly waiting for the next part in the series now.

I usually enjoy a story by Samantha Chase. This one was a good one. Ashlynn and Reid's reintroduction was funny and memorable. I enjoyed the bit of mystery in the story. It tested their relationship. The characters were enjoyable. I liked the glimpse of the other characters from the previous book in the series. I liked the relationships Ashlynn has with her siblings. I look forward to more books in the series. I listened to the audio book and enjoyed the narration a lot. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another fantastic read from Samantha Chase - an auto-buy author for me, one of my very faves! Man, how I love the Donovan family and so glad she’s writing the spin-off series for the cousins (I wasn’t ready to leave these characters after the first series wrapped up).

Ashlynn and Reid met back in grade school, and they had a bit of a difficult history… he saw her underpants in elementary school and told everyone. She never forgot, and was so happy when he moved away. The day he comes home for their joint besties wedding she reminds him of that moment because it happens again, and they are off on the wrong foot again.

When Reid takes a job with the Sweetbriar Ridge Fire Department and makes the move back to town, the pair find themselves in a frienemies situation, until he proposes a plan - his Captain thinks he would do better for promotions if he wasn’t a single guy, so she could pretend to be his partner. She just lost her job and needs some help looking into a tiny fire issue that pops up (she has this little issue of being blamed for something that happened in town and he could give her a hand looking into it). The fact they are now neighbors in their apartment building definitely helps with proximity, too.

Loved all the tropes in this one, especially the elementary school story and how Reid held a torch (hah, firefighter pun!) in the 20-some years since, the enemies to lovers, neighbors, wedding party, firefighter, and the sub-plot about the investigation happening (there was a LOT of focus on the investigation and maybe it took up too much of the storyline… maybe my only complaint! This is why only the 4-star rating this time…). Love the appearance of all the beloved characters from the other books, too. Great job with the mystery thrown in - only figured out part of it on my own!

Definitely recommend this one, especially to other Samantha Chase fans, but to all romance readers looking for an interesting read with a bit of mystery thrown in with the investigation this one includes. You don’t need to read the entire series. It’s also closed door, but spicy enough especially compared to her others.

I received an advance read and listen copy from NetGalley, Valentine PR, and Dreamscape Media, and this is my honest feedback.

Reid and Ashlynn had a bumpy start to their relationship. When they were in high school together, he had a hopeless crush on her and he made the mistake of letting everyone know that she inadvertently showed him her underwear. After that, she wanted nothing to do with him. He always moved around a lot, but always felt like Sweetbriar Ridge was home. He is heading there soon for his friends bachelor party and is planning on looking into the local fire department. When he arrives in town he runs into Ashlynn, and once again she flashes him her underwear. That starts the animosity again.
Ashlynn is having a rough time when Reid reenters her life. She just lost her job and has no idea what she is going to do. She vows to stay away from him after he chuckles when he sees her underwear again. Unfortunately for her, he is planning on renting an apartment right above her apartment so they will be seeing a lot of each other. Once he apologizes to her and they start talking their relationship moves fast, but it is also believable.
I really liked how once they opened up to each other, especially her to him about the bomb that ruined her relationship with her mom, they became each other's strongest supporter and defender. I was upset that no one understood where Reid was coming from when they insisted he go to his bosses about the what she was being accused of, even though I wanted him to find a way to show his support more than he did. I was relieved when the truth came out but didn't see the whole picture until the end.
Carly Robins did a fantastic job narrating the book. She brought a lot of emotion to the characters and helped make it feel as though I was there with the characters. I would definitely listen to another book that was narrated by her. I received an ALC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Devoured this audiobook within a day! I adored the narrator. This was my first book about the Donovan’s and it was pretty easy to pick up and understand the dynamic without reading other books in the series.

-closed door romance
-fear of commitment FMC
-old flame moves back to town
-FMC just can’t catch a break and is accused of the unthinkable, while MMC is sure she’s innocent he is unable to prove her innocence and help her because he’s afraid it’ll affect his career-Aaahh!!!

I enjoyed this book and am excited to dive into the rest of the series and hear about the other friends and family’s stories!

I thought this was a pretty sweet romance. But I struggled with the conflicts. Like they were made too big for added drama. When they were actually pretty mild.

I absolutely loved Reid. He was playful and I loved how persistent he was.

I really struggled to connect with Ashlynn. I loved the idea of her character, but struggled to really find her likable and at times I thought her POV was pretty boring.

I don't know how Carly Robbins makes me forget when I'm listening to one of her books that there isn't a male narrator!! She does such an incredible job everytime with both POVs. I'm honestly blown away!

Thank you so much netgallery for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

I absolutely love small town romances, so I was very excited to listen to this one. The love story was good, but I almost felt like the side stories were better. It was super unrealistic. The characters went from hating each other to not almost immediately and there wasn’t even any tension left between them.

I enjoyed the narration, but felt that if Carly changed her voice to differentiate the characters, that it would have added that much more to the audio. The third person POV would have been easier to follow along with as well.

A special thank you to Samantha Chase, Dreamscape Media, and Netgalley for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

I got this audiobook from @Netgalley to listen to and review!

The narration: I like Carly Robins' voice and inflection BUT she does not differentiate character voices, making it difficult to follow the third person POV story. It's also a dual POV with a male character but she doesn't really do male voices (not that I love fake male voices, but there's just no effort to differentiate between who's speaking and it gets hard to follow during dialogue portions).

The story: The side plots of this story were way more captivating than the actual love story. The MCs very, very quickly went from disliking each other to dating with little to no tension left between them. The third-actish breakup was unwarranted (as they usually are), and wasn't that interesting. It was a better contemporary fiction piece than a romance.

Teasing You
The Donovans (Sweetbriar Ridge), Book 2
By: Samantha Chase
Narrated by: Carly Robins

Second chance romance, firefighter, small town, yes, I am ready to listen to book 2 of the Sweetbriar Ridge series. Ashlynn is a popular hair stylist in town, but after she makes a mistake with some dye, she is fired. Reid is moving back to his hometown in hopes of ascending up the ladder in the fire station. When he runs into Ashlynn, all the memories from high school come back and he is smitten. But will he be able to overcome the embarrassment he caused her in high school? Good looking, apologetic, the two find themselves attracted to each other, and enjoying each other's company. But Ashlynn has some issues with trust. When push comes to shove and she is faced with the possibility of an arson charge, firefighter Reid is not by her side. Will she be able to forgive him? Will her innocence be proven? This is a wonderful story, packed with good friends, family drama and all the mean girl feels. Hanging out again at Books and Beans is a treat! And talk about romance! Reid knows how to bring it! This is a fabulous addition to the series and I can't wait to visit again!

Carly Robins is the story teller and as always, she is fantastic. She has such an amazing array of voices, and she picks the perfect one for each character. I especially loved Ashylynn's mother! She brings the story alive and made for a wonderful listen!

Teasing You is the second romance in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series. Ashlynn Donovan’s life has just taken a turn for the worst and she sees no end in sight. She’s just lost her job and now she’s flashed the new guy in town, who also happens to be the guy she flashed back in high school. It really can’t get any worse than this. Reid Baylor has just returned to Sweetbriar Ridge to become the towns newest firefighter. He’d always hoped to come back to town and when this opportunity presented itself, he hopped on it. Flashing incidents aside, Reid’s crush on Ashlynn from all those years ago is still there, but she wants nothing to do with him. Will she be able to resist the chemistry between them or will Ashlynn give herself a shot at happiness and see what Reid has to offer?

Small town, firefighter and second chance romance tropes make this the perfect read for fans of sweet romances. I haven’t read the first book in this series, but this can easily be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed Reid and thought he was the perfect lead for this romance. There were times where I loved Ashlynn and times where she bothered me a bit, especially during her parents drama and her hang up around this. Overall this was a good, semi steamy, sweet romance that is perfect for small town romance fans. There is a lot of potential for future books in this series and I look forward to seeing what else comes for these supporting characters.

4.5 Stars for Teasing You (The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge #2)

If you love second chance romances look no further than Ashlynn Donovan and firefighter Reid Baylor’s story. I have to admit it took time for me to warm up to Ashlynn but as this story unfolded I found myself liking her more and more.
Carly Robbins did a good job with the narration and she hit all the emotions and the drama that runs through this book. For me she brought the characters to life and she was very easy to listen to.
Reid and Ashlynn have history and when Reid moves back home she is
really not sure she can ever forgive the boy who humiliated her in high school. But he is determined to win her over and when he moves into the apartment above hers he sees this an opportunity……
Problem is Ashlynn’s life is going down hill very quickly and she suddenly finds herself needing Reid more than ever but supporting her could put his career on the line. So will Reid step ip when Ashlynn needs him or will he run for the hills. One click to find out.
Teasing You has the perfect mix of love, passion, angst and friendships and let’s be honest it wouldn’t be a great small town romance without some drama from the residents.
I received an ALC from the publisher through Netgalley.
