The Snow Thief was an absolute delight. Both of my boys loved the story, and I enjoyed how informative it was while still being fun. This is the second book in this collection that we’ve read, so we were familiar with the story format. I appreciate the simple and repetitive structure for the little ones just starting out learning to read. Additionally, the illustrations are absolutely adorable and definitely helped keep the kids interested. I highly recommend picking up this book for the kiddos in your life.

This was a fun book to read with my four year old son. He thought the squirrel was so silly. I enjoyed the section at the end of the book that discussed squirrel’s questions from throughout the book. It provided a great opportunity to discuss squirrels feelings with my son. The illustrations are fun and engaging! Definitely a fun book to read during the wintertime!

The graphics and the story were simply adorable! I also love that there are descriptions at the back of the book that stimulate young minds.
Thank you NetGalley, Alice Hemming, and SOURCEBOOK Kids for the opportunity to read and review this children's book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Squirrel is up to it again in this new book in the series. Squirrel wakes up to a world covered in snow and wonders where the grass has gone. Then Squirrel gets hit with something white and round-a snowball thrown by bird. Bird tries to encourages Squirrel to come out and tries throwing snowballs. It’s a lot of fun! Squirrel comes out and realizes it is fun. Things happen to confuse squirrel throughout the day-puddle is slippery, smoke come of our squirrel’s mouth & someone steal squirrel’s hazelnuts. . Squirrel gives up and goes to bed. Squirrel wakes up ready to play in the snow again and unfortunately it melted.
What a great sequel. It brings up a lot of normal question about snow and freezing temps. It actually has all the possible questions and answers at the end of the story. My first graders really enjoyed the first two books and I am sure this one is going to be a big hit!

Okay, so I'm pretty sure we all have that one friend who freaks out about everything, right? LOL. Well, in this story it happens to be a squirrel, and his best bird friend is the one who keeps him in check and calms him down by explaining everything to him. I loved the colorful illustrations, and the story is super cute too. I know my littlest library patrons would get a huge kick out of this book for our storytime hour. I would recommend it to everyone.
