Follow Ivy and her korgi pup Sprout through five exciting adventures in Korgi: The Complete Tale, where curiosity is abundant and friendship blooms. When Ivy and Sprout are together, neither need fear the danger that awaits in each adventure. Their courage and the strength of their friendship are sure to see them through any situation. Whether it's hungry trolls or evil monsters that want to harm the Mollies, Ivy and Sprout are always ready to do what's right to save Korgi Hollow! Even if it is pretty scary.

Korgi: The Complete Tale was such a joy to read. Sci-fi and fantasy fans alike will love the world building as it mixes aliens and spaceships with cozy woodland cottages and creatures. There are also witches and wizards, both good and evil. The themes of going on an adventure, finding courage, building friendships, overcoming your fears are prevalent throughout the collection. Each story builds upon the last to create one epic adventure. There are some darker depictions that can be a little scary for some younger readers, but good always wins out in the end for young Ivy and Scout. The short stories at the end of the novel are just as endearing as the main story and end things on a bright note.

There is such expressive visual storytelling throughout the collection that is so rarely seen in children's literature. Because this story does not rely on words to tell the tale, save for each story's introduction by Wart, it allows readers to imagine their own dialogue through the beautifully illustrated storyline provided. This creates a unique experience for each and every reader, no matter their age. Younger children will love this book for the pictures, while older children will love to make up the words to the story as they read along. At the end of the book there is a section that lists out the various characters of the stories. I highly recommend referencing this section as you make your way through the stories.

Adult readers will feel nostalgic while reading this book as the artwork and tales are reminiscent of classic Winnie the Pooh, illustrated by E. H. Shepard. The art style is heavy, bold, and inked to absolute perfection, yet each character shows fluid movements and unique personality. Every character illustrated can be told apart from each other, even when there are several korgis drawn in the same panel. This individualized attention to detail is so important in creating depth to Korgi Hollow, where the Mollies and Korgis live. It makes you feel like you're stepping into Korgi Hollow and witnessing the stories unfold in front of you.

Thank you to NetGalley, IDW Publishing, Top Shelf Productions, and Christian Slade for providing me with an advanced reader's copy to review. I can't wait to see this story in its printed form. I will be recommending this title for our library's children's collection!

Mostly wordless graphic novel, narrator begins each story with text then the story unfolds with detailed, amazing pictures, about village of Korgis. Very expressive pictures . Fans of fairy tales, dogs and adventures will love this

This is the most whimsical, gorgeous book I have ever seen. This dark and mystical story takes place in a land where korgis and their bonded mollies live together and keep each other safe from monsters and creephogs. This tale is magical and so creative. The art is breathtaking. I have never loved a (mostly) wordless story so much.

The illustrations in this book and the story are fantastic. I pull some old-time fairytale vibes from the stories. I enjoyed the book and the art. The only thing I wish was the character introduction was at the front of the book instead of the end.

I didn't like this book overall. First, the copy given as an ARC seemed to be lower quality (esp the cover and anytime there were words on the page). The book was interesting, and the art was good, but it didn't make sense. Why can the Corgi suddenly breathe fire? Where did her wings come from? It was an odd story, and with no words on the pages, it was easy to get confused. I won't be reviewing this on my TikTok.

I would like to express my gratitude to NetGalley and KIDW Publishing | Top Shelf Productions for giving me an advanced copy of this graphic novel. It was absolutely adorable and I really appreciate how the author was able to convey a story without the use of dialogues.

The plot revolves around a Korgi and its adventures - that's all you need to know.

Overall, it was an incredibly heartwarming and delightful read that made me feel like I was receiving a warm hug.

No other graphic novel or comic I've read is like this. It's fun, whacky, and wonderful. I did not expect a book about korgi's to have monsters and aliens. It was way more magical than I expected.
The black and white art that looks like a ball point pen was done beautifully. I've never read a wordless comic before that truly needed no words as the story told itself.
A fantastic read for young and old. This is on my shopping list now.

I've never read these before so I was glad this was the complete collection because I didn't want to put this down. As a corgi owner, the art was so cute and I fell in love with the magical creatures the author conjured.

This was my first time reading a wordless graphic novel and it was just delightful! It was like watching a silent animated film which interesting characters and just loads of cuteness. Ultimately though, I don't think I'm in the right demographic for this kind of story.

This was pretty entertaining, the art quality was good but needed a little extra pizazz. I feel like the 'magic Korgi flamethrower' power was recycled a little too often and would have liked to see the Korgi's team up with unique powers, etc. That's a little far reaching I know but it caused me to lose interest and passion going through some of these chapters.

Despite the colorful, light hearted cover, this is really a dreary, nearly depressing volume of stories.

The above has nothing to do with the book being in black and white. It's the content of the stories of dogs, fairies, demons and monsters and attacks. There are few happy spots. There are efforts of poignancy, but that needed a more open inking style. The drudgery of hatched inking gives weight, presenting a dour image that could otherwise be uplifting. This isn't a matter of style, but the #1 goal: Storytelling.

I get the impression the author thinks little of anything but corgi dogs. Stories more of this attitude may have been a better avenue.

Involving the book overall. The publisher had a number of things that should have been done. Keep one set of cast of characters in front of the book and eliminate the pages repeated throughout. Maybe this preview from NetGalley is not what will hit the actual press.

Something else should've been done was to edit the stories into more of one, than appearing to pull the individual, original comic books and just tacking together.

Bottom line: I don't recommend this book. 4 out of ten points.

A fire breathing corgi who saves the day? Say less.

This was such a cute collection of wordless stories about a magical land filled with magical corgis. I highly recommend it to readers of all ages. I loved the art and storytelling in each book. I also enjoyed seeing the characters featured at the end, so we could learn a little more about the,.

This collection was absolutely charming. Each page had gorgeous detailed pen and ink drawings that absolutely warmed my heart. As a corgi lover myself, this is the perfect gift for any corgi-obsessed folks out there - I've pre-ordered my own copy actually already as I think my in-laws will love it. These silent comics follow a girl and her corgi puppy going on adventures and fighting monsters together. Overall vibes are heartwarming and cozy.

One less star because I felt the plot was difficult to ascertain at times. I really think this would be fixed by including the appendix info (map and character list) in the front of the book instead of the back. I had no idea the names of any of the characters as there are not any words in the stories aside from the intros.

4.25 stars. Thanks for NetGalley for the e-ARC.

Korgi: The Complete Tale is a compilation of five completely wordless fantasy graphic novels about Ivy the Mollie (fairy-like woodlen creature) and her fearless fire breathing corgi pup Scout as they adventure around Korgi Hollow.

The pen & ink black and white corgi drawings are adorable and extremely detailed. But the various bad guys are truly creepy due to this detail. Each book is introduced by Wart the magic toad with a written basic description of what’s to come and then the reader is on their own to depict the rest. Since the drawings are so detailed, that’s not too difficult to do, however I would have found the post-book character descriptions useful at the beginning of the book.

My personal favorite parts were the short stories at the very end that mostly just involved corgi Scout getting into trouble usually due to his love of snacks.

Overall, the entire journey was cute and the artwork was stunning. Due to its fantasy nature, I almost wish I could have seen a few of the images in color (like the cover). But I believe corgi lovers (such as myself) will adore this book and graphic novel enthusiasts will appreciate what was created.

This was a super cute fantasy story about magical Korgis and their magical friends. There are no words in this book, only the introduction to each tale. It took a minute to get used to the no words thing, but it quickly grew on me. The art was really very interesting. Unlike much of what I’ve seen previously, which made it kind of charming and fun.

I enjoyed getting to know the characters, especially Sprout, the main Korgi, which happens to love food. He was super adorable. I also enjoyed the storylines of each little section. Kept me interested enough to keep turning the pages!! I do question what age should read this. I think some of the pictures are really quite scary. So I suggest if you want your kiddo to take a peak, just check it out yourself and make that decision then. Besides, it’s super cute and you’ll probably enjoy it!!

I recommend this to those who love fantasy graphic novels with magical Korgis, fairies, and super scary antagonists. This was adorable and interesting!!

Wordless but holding amazing illustrations, this is a collection from a well-loved series, which opens up to a world of monsters, adventure, and cute corgis.

This collection includes all five of the Korgi graphic novels as well as several short adventures. Each of the five books begins with a short and entertaining introduction, which does happen through text...but those are the only words during the adventure. Each moment is brought across through very detailed and extremely well-crafted, black and white line drawings. These are more demanding on the eyes than the illustrations usually found in graphic novels, in so far that they take more time to take in and digest. And it's well worth the extra time, especially since these do carry the entire tale in every way.

This is sold for children but will also satisfy older readers and some adults. The story isn't fluffy and happy, but rather, packs fantasy and adventure. The monsters take a creepy lean, which fits right with the illustration style to make each one come across with that dark atmosphere of off-ness. There is a hint of gore without really going there completely (an eyeball pops out and flies away), and while this might bother more sensitive readers, others will find the edged fantasy just right. The main characters fight off the danger and land in some pretty sticky situations, which bring exciting action scenes. It is a positive read with promises of hope and even will bring smiles and cuteness at the right moments.

There is a list of characters with descriptions at the end, which I do wish had been shoved to the front of the novel, instead, but that's only a side thought. It's an exciting adventure with an unexpected lean toward darkish fantasy (think The Labyrinth), which is sure to grab more than just corgi fans.

I went into reading this thinking it was a kids book. I was shocked to see 584 pages for a wordless book. The journey of a fairy and her Korgi friend. Their journey was harrowing and fun but man there were some scary characters. The drawings were great with so much detail and emotions. Thankfully the ending of the book is a happy one with hearts all around.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

I absolutely loved this tale! There was very little text, but the pictures said it all. The artwork was exquisite and I found myself looking at the pictures quite some time to suck in everything that happened in it. Even thought the text was almost non-existent, you get sucked into the story easily. Besides that, the whole thing is just so cute!

I really wanted to love this one. A graphic novel about magical corgis? It sounds perfect!

Unfortunately, it just didn't hit right for me. On the upside, the corgis were adorable and drawn really well! I felt like a lot of the art was a little flat. However, I found the fairies often seemed to be lacking a little expression. I love the idea of a magical corgi world, but that is a concept that automatically makes me happy & relaxed (like the cover did) and this was NOT the book for happy & relaxed. The enemies were very dark and without dialogue or color in the graphic novel it felt like most of my attention when reading the book went to the darkness and not the cute corgis. That could be more of a problem of my expectations based on the cover, than an actual issue with the book.

Finally, I did want to say that I loved the ending. I won't spoil it, but it was a fun way to bring some lore into the book.

Thanks to Net Galley, Christian Slade, and IDW Publishing for the opportunity to review!
