The pictures were beautiful and vivid. The story makes several points. One is why we have different colored skin and shades of skin. The other major point was how we are inside is much more important than outer appearances. Brief introduction to Hinduism. I was blessed with a free ARC, and I’m voluntarily leaving my review.

Ahhh! We loved this! We learned some new terms, we looked them up together, but loved that there was some follow up information and conversation starters at the end! A lovely story and wonderful resource will definitely purchase for our shelves

The message is nice, and I really like the science bits. The open family conversations are lovely and make the characters likable.

I wish the author hadn't tried to make this rhyme. It would be much more readable.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a really sweet book about how it doesn’t matter what color we are on the outside. Sometimes the phrasing or rhyming wasn’t perfect, but the illustrations were beautiful and this book would be a great conversation starter for kids to learn about other cultures. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

What a fun book! Talks so much about diversity in a way that will engage with children and keep their attention. The author did a great job of introducing different types of cultures, colors of skin and explaining the science behind it, which is often overlooked. The relationship between siblings is one of my favorite parts of the book. As a blended family, with culture and skin color differences this is a book my children will enjoy.
