I received a digital arc from the publisher via Netgalley though all thoughts are my own.

This book had me hooked from beginning to end and I read it in less than twenty four hours as I had to know what would happen next and continue to be swept up in Callum and Lark's journey from friends to so much more. There was quite a bit of steaminess and I knew that they couldn't resist each other for long.

I love that this is set in Ireland and how there was were Irish works sprinkled throughout the book. I loved the connection that Callum and Lark were forming and how they balanced each other out. I really found it sweet that Lark didn't once treat Callum differently due to having a stutter nor when she realized that he might be demisexual.

Callum is just the sweetest cinnamon roll who is also fiercely protective of those he cares for and I'm so glad that Lark helped inspire confidence and not feeling so self conscious about having a stutter.

I also adore that Callum rescued a mouse named Houdini who obviously adores Callum and eventually Lark.

I highly recommend this book which I had such a fun time reading and being along for the development of Callum and Lark falling in love.

Trigger warnings: mention of dead bodies, mention of some procedures of preparing dead bodies, death of grandparents off the page, death of a husband, death of a wife, death of a friend, bullying, lude comments from a coworker, some violence, grief

I read a free copy of #Morbidlyyours by #IvyFairbanks through #NetGalley. Callum, an undertaker from Galaway lives next door to renter, Lark. Callum is a serious gentleman, who has forgotten to live and be happy. Lark is an animator and optimist from Texas, who believes that she is responsible for her dead husband's accident. She has run to Galaway, to be in charge of an animated film. Both have trouble letting people into their hearts. This book shows their relationship grow from acquaintances to lovers, while Lark, learns to let people into her heart. It has Irish terms defined in the book and a list of characters. I recommend this book

Lark Thompson moves to Ireland for an animation job and learns that her neighbor is a mortuary home (and not to be reminded about the loss of her husband). Callum would rather spend his time with the bodies at his mortuary than talk to living people, but he discovers that he needs to get married before his 35th birthday, or he will not inherit his family's mortuary business. Can Lark and Callum help each other while ignoring the real connections between them?

I loved everything about this book. The story was wonderful, the characters felt real, and I wanted more when I was done reading. I will excitedly read whatever Ivy Fairbanks comes out with next! 4 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam for this eARC. All thoughts are honest and my own.

This was a cute read! I enjoyed seeing Cal come out of his shell and be more comfortable in his skin. Callum definitely carried this book on his back.

This book is one that I was so highly anticipating and, unfortunately, it was just a huge letdown for me. I did enjoy this book's look on grief when it comes to a spouse, but honestly if I had known that going into this book, I probably wouldn't have picked it up. I don't tend to enjoy widow stories and this was that. I don't think that's what made me not enjoy it, though. I just didn't connect with the characters or their relationship in the way that I wanted to. I felt like there was quite a bit that just made me uncomfortable or made me question if it was okay or not. I don't know how else to explain it. Plus the sex scenes just REALLY didn't work for me. Disclaimer, sex scenes are questionable for me. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. These just really didn't. I'm really sad that I didn't enjoy this one, but alas. I'd be willing to give the author another chance, but I don't think that will be any time soon.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group for the e-book copy!

I gave this book another chance after an initial soft dnf and sad to say but I have officially dnf'd this book. I found it to just be a bit too slow for me. the premise seemed interesting but the execution needed work. I would still recommend this for people who love slow burns no matter how slow.

DNF @ 37% - I tried but I found both the mmc & fmc insufferable. I loved the idea of it but it didn’t jive with me.

Plus the audiobook accents were just BAD.

This for some reason took me a long time to get through. I think it was the pacing. It is a cute idea and I loved the cover though.

Can I just say Heart eyes?! This poor man needed to get married, or he'll lose his mortuary business. This was cute!

Thank you NetGalley and Lassen Press for the arc!

Fun and quirky. Although there were a few moments of emotional hardship, it was over all lighthearted and easy to read. Not the most memorable in a sea of romcoms but still a good read.

This was such a fun and quirky read! I loved the mix of dark humor, romance, and a touch of the macabre, it was totally different in the best way. The main character was super relatable, and the banter had me smiling the whole time. It wasn’t perfect pacing-wise, but overall it was a unique, charming story that I really enjoyed!

This was a fun and cozy read. Nothing particularly wrong with it, it just didn’t grip me like some other books. The plot was interesting but I think the execution fell short and it just ended up being very average.

This book had me laughing out loud so often, I’m pretty sure my cat thinks I’ve lost it. The witty banter and ridiculous scenarios hit just the right funny bone every time. It’s like a comedy and a mystery got together for a wild, hilarious dance party. Perfect for anyone who loves a smart, silly, and seriously entertaining read.

I had a really good time reading this! Any romance set in Ireland is already right up my alley, but this also had cute characters, strong dialogue, and fun takes on some of my favorite tropes. Looking forward to reading more from this author, I’m impressed that this is her debut.

This book is perfect for anyone who enjoys a love story with a bit of an edge—whether it’s the dark humor, the unconventional romance, or the emotional exploration of loss and healing. Ivy Fairbanks has crafted a memorable, quirky, and heartwarming tale that will resonate long after the last page is turned.

m not sure why it took me so long to pick this one up, but I’m so glad I finally did—I really enjoyed it! This would be the perfect read for spooky season or autumn, since we’re following a mortician (which just screams October vibes).

It features a delightful grumpy-sunshine dynamic, with a fun twist: the grump has to get married before turning 35 or risk losing his place in the family business. While I usually lean more toward enemies-to-lovers, this friends-to-lovers story really worked for me—it was heartfelt, charming, and surprisingly solid

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.

In this meet-cute - Lark Thompson is in Galway, Ireland trying to restart her life. After losing her husband to an accident and her job, she relocates to Ireland on a temporary assignment. Callum Flannelly is a mortician that is trying to keep ahold of the family business that has been in his family for decades. Unfortunately, his grandfather put a clause in the will that states Callum must be married by 35 to retain the business.

When Lark moves into the apartment next door to the funeral home, these two start up an unlikely friendship that helps them both move on with life.

I love this book with all my heart, I read it at least 3 times . The romance felt like a slow burn with really humorous moments.

A cute friends to lovers read. Cozy. A bit of a slow burn in the beginning, but still worth the read. Not a huge fan of the cover art but once you read the book, it truly makes sense and fits. So I grew to love it. Character development was well done. Very thankful to be given in advanced readers reader copy. I would give it a half star rating more, but I cannot based on the star metric so just wanted that to be known.
