This was unexpectedly charming. A cute premise, good dialogue, a grumpy love interest, and decent emotional weight. Will recommend and be looking forward to future releases from this author

I found myself rather charmed by this Ivy Fairbanks book.

Lets start with the pros: Ireland. New start. A real lover boy. Grief. Excellent chemistry. So much charm

Cons: Repetition. Lark getting in her own way. A quick resolution.

I think this is a very cozy romance that is quick paced and yet sometimes, too slow. I feel as if this book had another pass through, it would have been near perfect, but the writing felt off at certain parts.

I still enjoyed myself and I give the book 3.75 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review! As always, all opinions are my own.

An adorable Irish romance! This book was lovely and lighthearted, while also dealing with serious topics like grief. I loved Callum, and how hard he fell for Lark was swoon worthy. The two of them were adorable together, and I'll always appreciate a man will to throw down for his girl.

They had me at Galway, Ireland as the setting. The vibe of the setting really set the mood for the story. I really enjoyed the grumpy sunshine trope and while I’m not usually the biggest fan of friends to lovers it really worked for Lark and Callum. The book explores hard topics like grief but wraps them in a sweet story of new friendships, reinvention and healing.

Very sweet love story with some Irish ties. It was about 75 pages too long, but I liked it. I’ll likely read the next in the series too.

Callum is an undertaker for his family's funeral home. He has just a few months to marry in order to keep said family business per his grandfather's will. When one day he gets an interesting new neighbor.

Lark is an animator from Texas who accepts a job in Ireland after the loss of her husband. After that loss, Lark swore off love and little did she know her move would open more doors than she planned.

This was such a stinking cute read. BUT just be prepared it is a slow burn.

I am not a particular fan of slow burns. I like mid burns. There was a lot of edging (I can't think of a better way to describe how it felt to me) to the reader with the relationship of the characters. The back and forth and almost kissing or taking the next step made it feel like a miscommunication trope. I say that because they both want each other, but they go back and forth in their minds on wanting each other. Like I said, push and pull.

OKAY. I love Callum and Lark with my whole entire heart and soul. I really enjoyed the entire premise of this book. Accidentally moving next to a MORGUE?! After running away from home due to DEATH. I'll eat that right up.

This book was an unexpected delight, blending mystery with a heartfelt romance set in the charming streets of Ireland. The setting is beautifully described, making you feel right at home in the small-town atmosphere. The characters are well-developed, with a perfect mix of wit, depth, and emotion that pulls you into their world.

The mystery at the heart of the story kept me guessing, and the pacing was just right—slow enough to build tension, but fast enough to keep things moving. The romance between the leads feels natural and adds a warm touch to the darker elements of the plot.

Overall, it’s an engaging read with a perfect balance of mystery, romance, and small-town charm—highly recommended for fans of cozy mysteries with a bit of heart.

3.5 stars. This was such a sweet romance. I think the pacing made it slow down in parts and caused it to lull, but I loved the arc the FMC had.

Morbidly Yours is an absolute mood! This book is like a healing love letter to those who are grieving after the lost of a loved one. The chemistry between the Callum and Lark is everything—it's sizzling, mysterious, and absolutely irresistible. It was also incredibly funny and quirky. They were two people who just got each other (unless it was about their feelings of course.) Morbidly Yours is your new obsession, promise! I can't wait for the next one!

This was a cute romance. I loved how prominent the opposites attract was in this one. She is from Texas and he is from Ireland! She is outgoing and he is very much an introvert. They are both artistic…her being an animator and he an undertaker.

I loved that this book also took place in Ireland. I like a change of scenery in a book.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loved contemporary romances.

3 1/2 stars! I am mad at myself for not reading this sooner! It was so cute and such an easy read! I loved the friends to lovers troupe with Lark and Callum. Both characters had baggage and were able to help each other figure things out. Grief was a major part of the story, but handled very well and in a healthy way. I would recommend this to others and I cant wait to read more from Ivy Fairbanks!

In general I really did like this book. I liked the characters, the slow burn was decently done, I thought the demisexual rep was ok. I enjoyed the morbid humor.

It was a bit of a slog to get through. The pacing was off, for me. I hated the “must get married” trope in this as it felt very unnecessary as well as the coworker drama. It had the potential of being a really great love story developing through working through grief and trauma, and learning to live and love again. Trust me, that’s enough drama for any story.

“Morbidly Yours” by Ivy Fairbanks is a refreshingly bold and captivating read that I couldn’t put down. The story centers around Addison, a protagonist with a fascination for death and the afterlife, and I was instantly drawn to her dark sense of humor and unique perspective on life. This book combines mystery, romance, and emotional depth, all while exploring themes of grief, acceptance, and the complexities of human connection.

I loved how Fairbanks’ writing blends sharp wit with emotional complexity. Addison’s dry humor and deadpan reactions to the morbid aspects of life make her a character I could relate to on a deeper level. Despite her often unconventional outlook, Addison is navigating a journey of self-discovery that I found both heartfelt and resonant. Her struggles with grief and her obsession with death are real, and I appreciated how her character grew throughout the novel.

What really stood out to me in *Morbidly Yours* is the way Fairbanks uses dark humor to explore heavier themes like mortality, trauma, and finding meaning in life. There’s a perfect balance of levity and depth, which makes the book both thought-provoking and entertaining. The tone is refreshing—sometimes funny, sometimes poignant—but always engaging. I found myself laughing one moment and then reflecting deeply the next, which is not something I often encounter in a single book.

The romance in the novel was also a pleasant surprise. While it’s not the central plot, the romantic subplot was beautifully woven into Addison’s story, giving her a chance to open her heart in ways she never expected. It added warmth to the book without overshadowing its more profound themes, which I really appreciated.

That being said, the book does have a few small drawbacks. At times, some parts of the plot felt a bit predictable, and I thought a couple of the character arcs could have been developed further. But honestly, these were minor issues for me, and the charm and heart of the story more than made up for them.

Overall, I found *Morbidly Yours* to be an engaging and thought-provoking read. Ivy Fairbanks has created a novel that feels both fresh and unique, blending humor, emotion, and a touch of the unconventional in a way that kept me hooked. If you enjoy quirky, character-driven stories with a deeper meaning, I highly recommend it.

This is a fabulous book that I enjoyed from beginning to end! It is a charming tale two individuals who could not be more different, yet could not be more perfect for each other. However, they have numerous reasons to refrain from acting on their mutual attraction. Mainly that Lark Thompson is just in Ireland for a job assignment and she still considers her home to be in Texas. She escaped her life in Texas after her husband unexpectedly dies and she needed a change of scenery. When she meets her next-door neighbor Callum Flannelly he is going through his own crisis and doesn't have time to invest in a new relationship.

The pairing of these two seems doomed from the start: Lark is typically outgoing and spontaneous while Callum is reserved, methodical, set in his ways and lives in a funeral home. These traits lead to hilarious, sometimes awkward, and moments that add a light, humorous touch to the narrative. As the story progresses these two are forced to reckon with their differences, learning to appreciate and understand each other's strengths. And, as they get to know each other they can't deny their mutual attraction and things get a bit spicy.

The development of this relationship is what makes this book enjoyable. It's not just about romantic attraction, but also about self-discovery. The contracting personalities bring out the best (and sometimes the worst) in each other, leading to significant personal growth for both characters. by the end of the book, they've not only fallen for each other but have also become better versions of themselves. But will they figure out a way to be together?

If you enjoy romance filled with witty banter, moments of tension and a heartwarming couple then this charming and engaging book is perfect for you. It was definitely perfect for me, and I am looking forward to the next installment of this fantastic new Love in Galway series by Ivy Fairbanks!

I am extremely grateful to Penguin Group - Putnam publishing for granting me the opportunity to read a digital copy of this sweet yet spicy book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All of the opinions in this review are my own.
