• I went through every silly emotion reading
this, from giggles to even a few tears. Callum & Lark were super loveable and I loved seeing their friendship change and grow. (The banter was top notch) Definitely a slow burn with not a lot of spice, but boy will it take you straight to Ireland

An Irish mortician, Callum, must marry before his 35th birthday in order to fully inherit the funeral home that he has been running since his grandad passed away. Only problem? He's 34 and has no prospects of a wife. In comes Lark, an animator from Texas, running from the death of her husband. Lark is determined to help Callum find a wife, but they may end up finding love in the most unexpected place.
This book was beautifully written and had me tearing up while it gracefully handled topics of grieving, dying, and death. This book felt like being given a blanket on a cold night after a hard day; the feeling of comfort in loss. I will say that although there are trigger warnings, I was definitely thrown by Callum's first chapter of him preparing a body for a funeral.

Morbidly Yours was so cute, fun, cozy, and sweet! I loved Callum SO much, and I loved how he and Lark interacted, were patient with each other, etc. I’m glad I got this arc! If you want a feel-good romance with fun side characters and a side of spice, I’d highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam's for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.
I requested this when I saw that it takes place in Galway, where I've been a couple of times. With all the Irish dialogue, this would make a great audio book. And I'm happy to see this will be a series. What an accomplishment for a first time author! I love the main characters, Lark and Callum, and how they support each other. They have good banter too. I also loved the character of Maeve and how she helped Lark come to terms with her loss. The ending was great - no spoilers, but the surprise Callum cooks up for Lark was *chef's kiss.* Very much looking forward to book 2.

This was a good, sweet read, and overall, I had a good time with it. I wasn't such a huge fan of Lark's personality, but it worked for the grumpy/sunshine relationship dynamic. I did LOVE Callum and how his stutter were handled. The potential for growth of both characters was there, but it happened to fast in the end in a series of epiphanies rather than gradually. The end especially felt rushed, and the banter that started out great in the beginning became stilted and awkward. A bit of a letdown after such a strong first half of the book, for sure. But for a quick, sweet romance, it gets the job done.

Thank you NetGalley and Ivy Fairbanks for the ARC!! I loved this book so much!! It was a slow burn so be warned! The only criticism I’d have is I wish it had more spice but that didn’t take away from the story at all!! It was sooo worth the wait to get my hands on this read!

Reviewed for NetGalley:
Lark, still grieving the relationship tragedy of her past, moves across the pond to Ireland to take up a new job and a fresh start.
She soon befriends her begrudging, quiet, isolated neighbor, Callum, that just happens to work and live as a mortician, and can be described as "hot in a Damien Rice song way" (by far the best line).
Beautifully written, I loved seeing these two characters grow as themselves and in being with one another.

Morbidly Yours was the perfect read to get me out of yet another slump that has plagued me this year!
The tension was amazing and the banter left me kicking my feet and giggling the entire way through!
Ivy Fairbanks did an excellent job and this book gripped my attention from the very first page!
I highly recommend!

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I can't believe this is a debut novel. It was so good! I loved all the random Irish language pronunciations. I absolutely loved the dark and light that Lark and Cal represent. I loved their slow burn romance. I loved their friends and how supportive they were. I just really enjoyed this book, and if you like a close proximity, slow burn, friends to lovers romance I think you'll love it too.

Ivy Fairbanks’ MORBIDLY YOURS is a romance that does something different, but takes a little too long to get where it’s trying to go. By focusing on characters dealing with grief and rediscovering themselves in new settings (and old), Fairbanks offers readers a powerful, unique premise. The book starts off strong, but then languishes, which is a pattern it can’t seem to shake, given how long it takes for the plot to move substantially forward. This drawback is exacerbated by characters who take their sweet time to build any degree of chemistry. I enjoyed MORBIDLY YOURS, but not enough to want to read it again.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC!

This was an ARC for honest feedback.
I really liked this novel. It was spicy towards the end, but easily skipped if you aren't into that. I loved the translation page also, to let me know the meaning of some of the Irish words used. Overall good character development, and you really felt like you knew them by the end.
There were a few slow spots, hence the 4 stars, but wouldn't be a reason to not read the book. I look forward to more from this author.

I really really enjoyed how out of the box this romance was. It covered grief in different ways coming from both of the characters. The tension was sooo strong I was rooting for the characters to kiss and when they did it was like okay boom this is it. But that's when the story finally took a turn and we see the characters working through their own individual struggles in order to be together. I loved Cal he was such a sweetheart and you knew he always had Lark on his mind no matter what he was doing or who he was with which is important when you have a plot point that consists of him going on plenty of dates to find "the one". I really loved this book and it kept me turning the page until the very end.
Thank you Putnam books and NetGalley for the ARC!

This book was sweet and spicy! It was a romance book I could not put down and had me reading into the middle of the night. Can we get a sequel to this one please?!

Ivy Fairbanks' "Morbidly Yours" is a delightful read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters, Lark and Callum, are charming with their opposite personalities that complement each other perfectly. The journey to their spicy moments was well-paced and satisfying. This book beautifully weaves themes of love, loss, and grief, all set against a backdrop of beautiful Ireland. Highly recommended for those who appreciate a heartfelt romance.
Thank you to NetGalley and Puntam books for an ARC of this book.

This was a delightfully fun read! I was immediately intrigued by the meet-cute between an Irish undertaker and a Texan animator in Galway and wanted to find out more about their story. I'm so glad I did! The budding relationship and connection building between these unlikely neighbors was adorable and so, so sweet while also incredibly hot and steamy (some serious open-door sex scenes). Overall, a fun read by a new author (to me!) that I hope to read more from in the future!
Special thanks to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam's Sons for sharing this digital ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.

A charming and well-done debut. Whether that is due to its previous self-published incarnation or the inherent talent of the author, the result is appreciated. The more serious topics of the novel are deftly integrated to the plot and the characters such that tone shifts never jar readers out of their enthusiasm or empathy for the characters. After an anti-meet-cute (meet-ugly?), Callum and Lark are instantly compatible, giving each other both the emotional patience and dedication that allow their romance to really blossom. Which is exactly what they both need-- Callum as a demisexual and Lark as a widow. It is also satisfying that their romantic HEA coincides with professional ones for both of them. For all the sensitivity Fairbanks handles their journeys, this really is a funny and sexy book. In addition to their bungled meeting, there are many across-the-pond themed jokes and grump-sunshine dynamics. Once their relationship becomes sexual, there's an adventurousness that comments on their chemistry and trust just as much as it entertains. You don't go at it in the middle of a country stroll with just anyone, after all. Though I can't claim to be an authority on the matter, the Irish setting and culture seem to be taken seriously. I'd love to see the finished Grace O'Malley film Lark was working on. Overall an enjoyable read that leaves me excited to see what Fairbanks writes next.

I loved this book so much that I read it a second time for the new content! 🤩 I was I all up in my feels about this quirky little gem of a romcom. I say if a story has the ability to make me laugh, cry, and swoon on repeat, it’s a solid 5 star read for me. I adored the friends to lovers take so much and the development they both go through separately and together is just *chef’s kiss*! 👌🏻 Plus the banter and new content was amazing….I can’t wait for my preorder to come in August!
⚰️ READ IF YOU LOVE:
• Opposites attract
• Top tier banter + dark humor
• Grumpy/Sunshine
• Dual POV
• Spicy slow burn
Thank you for the opportunity to read an early copy of this new release!

I really enjoyed the book once it got going. The tension between the main characters was delightful and the roller skating scene cracked me up.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 was a beautiful tale. For Undertaker, Callum Flannelly, death is his very business. Not the misfortunes of modern dating, but there's a slight issue - his inheritance of Willow Haven depends on him finding a bride before his thirty fifth birthday.
Enter Callum's new neighbour, Lark, the Texan animator and a widow who's sworn off love forever. If only the Cliffs of Moher and Callum's reluctant smiles and company didn't make her heart fumble.

I lived for Callum's dark humor (given the context it might as well have been dead). It was also interesting getting to know the ins and outs of a mortician's job in all its gory details.
Their friendship had a gradual progress and it was entirely entertaining to witness. The side characters definitely added to the plot, especially, Houdini The Rat.
I feel like there's a scope to return to the Irish setting for another character's book and I'll be there of course!
Overall great debut, will be out August 20.

Oh, how much I loved this book! It's cozy and creepy, but beautiful. Fairbanks added a bit of spice for all of those readers....yes you!
