After the death of her husband, which she still blames herself for, she's getting a new start by accepting a new animation job in Galway, Ireland, far from her old life. She's determined to make the best of her temporary job project and sworn off relationships. Callum Flannelly has one true love in his life, the funeral home he runs, the only issue is that it's his families and his grandfather's stipulation for him inheriting the funeral home is that he has to be married before his. 35th birthday which is coming up fast. Callum know's his chances at finding someone to agree to this is low, especially since he's socially awkward, really reserved, and isn't much of a people person, yet the moment he meets his sunshiny and sweet neighbor he can't help but want to be her friend. Lark and Callum begin a very sweet friendship and Lark promises to help Callum with finding a person to marry him, yet it's becoming very clear that the only person right for that job is Lark and that she's beginning to fall for the one person she never expected. Can Lark find it in herself to move on and find a new chance at happiness or will her grief consume her, and will Callum be able to chase the one woman who has stolen his heart even if he can't inherit his funeral home? This was such a fun and sweet read (with some very fun spicy scenes *wink wink*). You really get to feel the friendship and care that Lark and Callum have for each other and you get to see Lark grow from her grief and chase her own happiness. I really enjoyed this one so much!

Morbidly Yours, a story about an American widow and an Irish mortician, made me cry and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

Callum and Lark are complete opposites on paper, she's a bubbly American who just moved to Ireland for her new job and he's an extremely shy mortician who lives and works next door. Even though their connection is instantaneous they decide their relationship can only ever be platonic. Lark is still grief-stricken and guilt-ridden over the loss of her husband and is not looking for romance. Callum on the other hand is in desperate need of a wife if he wants to keep his family business and he only has nine months to find one.

Callum and Lark soon develop a wonderful friendship in which they support and take care of each other in the sweetest manner. Lark’s friendship helps Callum step out of his comfort zone, which he hopes will also help him find a bride. However, it's not long before their growing attraction leads to very real feelings and throws a wrench in their friends only policy.

Morbidly Yours was a beautiful and surprisingly emotional love story and I loved every word of it. I cannot wait to see what is next for Ivy Fairbanks after such a fantastic debut.

dealing with the grief of losing her spouse, Texas native and animator, Lark takes a job in Ireland. She befriends her temporary neighbor, mortician Callum. Callum is the introverted grump to her extroverted sunshine and although an unlikely pair, the friendship works. Cal eventually tells Lark that he needs to marry by age 35 (coming in some months) or his father will sell the funeral home that’s been in the family for generations. Lark, who’s vowed to never remarry, agrees to help him find his mate but as time gets closer to his birthday and his dates are a bust, Lark has to make some life altering decisions.

I really enjoyed this one. I was laughed a lot more than I thought. I really loved the character development of Lark and Callum. I was especially invested in Lark’s short about Havarti and Plague Rat. I will be eagerly awaiting Ivy’s next novel.
