I have really enjoyed most of Laura Thalassas work! That continues with this book. This one did not disappoint, which can be hit or miss with the second book in a series. I was invested the entire way through and can’t wait for the next one.

Love love loved this book! I have no words to describe how much I loved it! This author is now an auto buy author for me! It was spicy and romantic and swoon worthy! I hope there are more books!

The amount of groveling is ASTRONOMICAL 📈 from a certain hunky Sorcerer 🙂↕️🫶🏻 I absolutely loved the pacing of this and love that it was just as good (if not better) than book one! Well developed plot that sucked me in. I literally could not put it down no matter how hard I tried. Seeing Selene go full queen mode was also WELL worth it. Such a phenomenal book and I’ll sit and wait for the next one to see what chaos happens in The Curse That Binds 👀 Well done, Laura Thalassa!

**Review of *Bespelled* by Laura Thalassa**
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars)
*Bespelled* by Laura Thalassa offers an intriguing blend of magic, romance, and mystery. The premise of the story, with a protagonist caught in a world of enchantments and secrets, provides an engaging backdrop that kept me hooked through the first half of the novel. Thalassa’s writing is smooth and easy to read, with enough intrigue to keep you turning pages.
However, while the concept is promising, the plot can feel a bit predictable at times. The romance, though enjoyable, lacks the depth or intensity that would make it truly captivating. Some of the character development felt a little rushed, and I found it hard to fully connect with the protagonist on a deeper level. The pacing also slowed in parts, which made it harder to stay engaged through the middle of the book.
Overall, *Bespelled* is an enjoyable and magical read, but it doesn’t quite reach its full potential in terms of emotional depth or plot complexity. It’s perfect for fans of light fantasy romances, but those looking for more intricate world-building or character development may find it lacking.

Fun read, and sets up good for the 3rd book but it was predictable
It needed more polishing but maybe during the 2nd go around I will like it better

This book is absolutely to die for! Laura you do such an amazing job with your books. The way that you captivate readers with your words is phenomenal. I can’t want for the novella to come out to hear what happened to Selene and Memnon!

Bespelled is the second book in the Bewitched series and cannot be read as a standalone.
Memnon was still as crazy as ever, but he was also very obsessed and protective. And Selene, she got back her memories, and she didn’t shy away from using her powers.
The plot was so good, and the twist? The ending? Ugh. It was a brutal cliffhanger, and I cannot wait for the next book.

The first book was great, although some of the actions of the love interest either bothered or questionable to me. But the plot is interesting. In this second book, I think he somehow redeemed himself??? I wouldn't quite call it that, but so-so. I quite enjoyed this one, but pleasee, can Memnon even grovel just for a little bit????????

I like this autgor’s writing style a lot. It’s easy to get swept up in her words and her story telling. That being said, the plot of this was really just okay for me. There were times that were super high action and others that were supposed to be that I kind of didn’t care about. I don’t particularly like Memnon, but I do think he was less insufferable in this book than the last. Overall entertaining but not my favorite.

I am woefully and terribly late in reviewing this ARC and I’m even more mad that I had to wait so long to read it per my own doing! I LOVED Bewitched and Bespelled did not disappoint! I love the premise of the second chance romance, enemies to lovers, fated mates, curses and bonds, and an eternal love spanning decades, but this series also has mystery, murder, mayhem and more! The suspicious murders and spell circles are still to be figured out, a friendship forged with the shifters is eminent but in danger, friends and foes alike are shifting in blame and trust, and the chemistry, tension, passion, past and present are all a rollercoaster ride of the relationship between Selene and Memnon and I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT. The history and ever enduring love sorry, while complicated by confusion, curses, and revenge coalesce now that Selene has her memories back and new bonds are forged while trust is tried to be earned anew. Their love is epic and the steam is top tier. I couldn’t put this one down, didn’t want it to end, and that ending was NOT something I saw coming. I need the next boom pronto!!

I really enjoyed the second book in this series. The banter with the characters is great. I'm eagerly awaiting for more books.

I love Laura's books, and I loved this one too! Bespelled was the perfect sequel to Bewitched and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I can't wait for the next one!

I’ve waited so long for this book and it did not disappoint! It made me fall in love with reading romance books again.
Selene is probably one of my favorite FMC in romantasy. She’s clever, actually uses information she has learned in the past, listens to advice from people she trusts and therefore avoids any easily avoidable consequences of her own actions.
And, of course, love her relationship with Mnemon!

While I was excited to continue this series, it intimately fell flat to me. The pacing was slow and I struggled to connect with Selene. It felt like smut scenes where just the main goings on in the book and it just wasn’t for me.

₊˚⊹♡⊹ ࣪ ˖🐈⬛ I’m reviewing these books in a two for one because the cliffhanger at the end of Bewitched is so massive, you’re going to want to read both at once.
This series is pure escapism: easy to read, fast paced, and quickly binged. If you are in a reading rut and want a very spicy 🥵🌶️🌶️ and fun read, then look no further. The kindle books are also free on Prime reading.
So while the smutty romance portions are sizzling, the fantasy components don’t hold up on their own. It’s not that the plot is weak. It’s more that the magic happens too easily, is not really explained... and the spells are cheesy (basically just come up with a rhyme and *boom* you’ve got yourself a spell).
When the main characters can heal from any wound it starts to lose its impact when they are taking multiple mortal injuries and then standing back up the next day. I had a similar issue as Selene lobs “explosion” spells overcoming any opponent. Everything is a little too “ta-da” easy peasy, convenient.
Characters felt a bit flat other than the main characters. I wanted to love the wolves but the pack mentality and their selfishness got to me. Same with Mr. Shadow Daddy. I think he won me over by the end despite being a pretty big douche for the entirety of book 1 and into book 2.
Points for Selena’s giant furrball Nero, a black panther — her grumpy familiar was one of my favs.
Endings are a big deal and Bespelled does tie up the main plot lines neatly, leaving open a possibility for a third book in the future.

I had some reservations about this book, because I struggled a little with the first one. Without going into too much detail, the mmc Memnon did some things to the fmc Selene that I just could not forgive. This led to me not shipping them anymore, so I was rooting for the romance to fall apart, lol. And again, without going into too much detail, all is now forgiven. In the same way that Warner, in the Shatter Me series, can be forgiven after reading further into the series, Memnon can be forgiven after reading Bespelled.
I really enjoyed this book! Selene grew a lot as a person and as a witch, and her connection to Memnon became clearer and a lot more romantic throughout the book. Similarly to the first one, I loved the way the magic worked in this one as well. Also, I am a sucker for magical bonds between people, so Bespelled definitely hit the spot on that one. The book has intrigue, mystery, drama, action, and romance. I enjoyed it a lot!
If you’re into romantasy as a genre, or you love reading about witches, werewolves, anti-heroes getting the girl, and suspenseful drama, then definitely give this series a go!

I thought i loved the first book the most? No. This one beat it by far. I loved seeing the redemption. I was sad to see the shift from academia to more of a mafia happenstance but Laura’s writing still kept my attention from the beginning until the very end.
Selene’s character development takes off in this book like crazy and I am entirely all for it. Memnon though. Swoon. I was not sure about him by the end of the first book but he sure as hell wasn’t ready for the cold hard truth of it all.
Anxiously waiting for the next book!!

I love Laura Thalassa's writing. She keeps me up late at night reading her stories. She makes it so easy to suspend belief and fall into her world.
after the close of the 1st book, I really wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Memnon. He was so evil to her throughout the first book I didn't think there was anything he could do to make it up to her.
The story moved along quickly. The battles, and intrigue of figuring out the murders of Selene's witch friends was really good. This didn't have a sophomore slump that a lot of middle books have, it moved the story along and it had the end battles scenes were so good as Selene really comes into her powers.
I think my one issue with the book is that the 1st book was so focused on her getting into this Henbane Coven Academy. I always love a dark academia book and I thought this is where it was going. This book seemed to force that storyline a little bit and we have moved more into the "mafia" type world and away from the school. I keep forget how young Selene is in the grand scheme of things.
Overall super good series and I will defiantly be waiting for the 3rd to see where it goes.
Recommend to anyone that like enemies to lovers, second chance romance, spicy romance with witchcraft, soul mates and moral grey characters.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of Bespelled by Laura Thalassa!

The plot of this was great, I love the different array of magical creatures. Selene character development really takes off and it was refreshing and rewarding to read this part of her journey.
Memnon…. Don’t get me started 😏 my new book boyfriend forsure.
Overall, I enjoyed the plot twists and spice and I’m excited for the prequel 😍
