Bespelled is the second book in the Bewitched series. It is not a stand-alone as it picks up directly at the end of the first book. I appreciate that the author begins the book with a brief recap of the first book. Some parts of this book pulled at my heartstrings but overall this book was so, so good. This story had me absolutely absorbed and I didn’t want to put it down. I honestly think it was better than the first book! It does end in another cliffhanger of sorts. I typically do not like and avoid books with cliffhangers if I can help it, but to be fair, in this instance, it wasn’t a cliffhanger that made me mad. It just leaves me wanting more story and more Memnon! I definitely cannot wait for the next one.

Memnon. MEMNON!!!!

Okay no but forreal, this follow-up book from Laura Thalassa’s first book in this series, Bewitched, SLAPPED.

Laura will always and forever be an autobuy author - not only for her absolute legendary morally grey men and hilarious and strong FMCs, but her stories are so unique and captivating. A breath of fresh air when all you ever read is spicy romantacy/pnr.

This book picks right up after the last, and she even included a summary near the front for all the short term memory readers I.e., me out there. 😭 bless you, Laura.

Memnon and Selene are in the thick of the drama 👀 that happened (I’m keepin it vague, go read book 1) and you’re immediately thrown into the story. Selene continues to put herself in some anxiety -inducing situations and has me biting my nails nervous. 🤣

Memnon is the MMC we all want and need in our lives. He would literally blow up anything and everything to get to his beloved and I’m here that kind of devotion tbh.

Thank the stars the heat and romance was turned up but let me tell youuuu, she still had us working for it. 🤣 the story and lore is further explored and shown and I was ADDICTED. I couldn’t put this book down.

The ending was seriously so action packed I considered locking myself away from my kids just so I could finish it. 🤣 and now here I am, weeks away from launch and I’m wondering.. is it too soon to ask for book 3? 👀🥹

If you’re a lover of curses, 2,000 year old dudes who wake up from a really long nap MADE AF, witches, betrayal, and some of the most unique story bits you’ve ever read - read this series.

This book was so incredible! Even better than the first one. I was hooked from start to finish and couldn't get enough. The plot twists blew me away! Can't wait for the next book, especially after that ending!!!

I always feel really lucky when I get the chance to read an ARC from one of my favorite authors and Laura Thalassa is top 3 for me!

This book was so good. A lot of good suspense and action sequences. Lots of groveling from our favorite possessive sorcerer. Character growth for Selene while she works through having her memory restored. More time with Nero her grumpy familiar. The mystery of the spell circle looms large against the lot but doesn’t overtake it. The spice was immaculate.

I also really liked how soon we find out what happened at the end of Selene’s first life as Roxilana. The anticipation might have killed me. This also made me want to read the prequel novella even more. Can’t wait to hear more about Selene and Memnon’s first meeting. The end was tense and high pressure and I was very excited that one of my theories was confirmed. I await further books in this series with bated breath!

Thank you to NetGalley and ReadBloom for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

Amazing as always. Laura Thalassa will always be an insta buy author for me! I think I like this book even more than the first one. The romance is my favorite part but I also really enjoyed the world building and the backstory we got. I cannot wait for book three!!!

Once again Laura has captivated her target romantasy audience with a unique story, amazing characters, plot twists and always leaving us wanting more! We love our morally grey King Memnon, especially when he learns to grovel… and is still the anti-hero the book girlies crave. This book for me was a 4.5 star read and 3 level spice. Thank you so much to Laura’s team and Netgalley for the ARC!

5/5 stars! I absolutely loved this book! I am so happy to receive an arc of this book. I absolutely love this series and Laura Thalassa is one of my favourite authors. Bespelled is book two in the Bewitched series and it did not disappoint. Both of the books in the series have been 5/5 stars and I can’t wait to continue the story in the next book. I highly recommend reading this book when it gets released May 28, 2024. Thank you to Laura Thalassa, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

Does the truth set you free?
In the second book in the Bewitched series, Selene Bowers is forced to recon with the memories of her past life. Sorcerer and supposed Soulmate Memnon has to come to terms with an account of history that directly contradicts with his own memory- making him incredibly determined to fix and repair what he broke with the once love of his life.

Selene and Memnon form an uneasy alliance to help solve the murders happening to the witches in Henbane coven. With their enemies getting closer and the murderers still out of reach, Selene is under enough stress….. except her husband from her past life is determined to win her back and pick up where they left off two thousand years ago.

AHHHHHH my first ARC and official review!! I cannot tell you guys how excited I was to read this book. I’m such a huge fun of Laura’s Bargainer and her Four Horseman series that I already came into this expecting great things- and of course she delivered.

The relationship dynamic between Selene and Memnon is something that scratches this incredible itch for me- there’s no instant love on our heroines side, and yet there’s always this undercurrent of yearning from Memnon. He knows what it is to be loved by her and is desperate to have it back and see her restored to her full power and glory. Where to get a partner that wants to see you absolutely dominate…. though maybe one who kills a little less? But we all have flaws. The handling of Selene’s memories being restored was SO GOOD. Seeing Selene struggle to align the two sides of herself and their separate desires was fantastic.

Absolute legend of a book and definitely a worth the read. Get excited!! Coming May 2024!

If Bewitched left you wanting and with more questions than answers, buckle up because you’re about to be in for a wild ride!
We finally get some much needed backstory (and fairly early on in the book, too) about Memnon and Selene’s ancient history together and why things have ended up as they are.
There’s finally some spice, and our FMC embracing her inner BA Queen. Not to mention Memnon’s groveling and overall story arc was so satisfying.
Definitely recommend and can’t wait to read the next book!

“You are the air in my lungs and the blood in my veins, and all the power and glory in the world are useless without you.”

It was soooo good!!😍 I think that my favorite aspect about the novel was the romance🫶🏽 and the world building🌎, because i felt that the end was a little bit rushed and I kind of expected more. More drama, more suffering and betrayal. And I felt that the book was big enought to give us all of that, but it wasn’t deliver at the last minute. I mean, i really enjoyed the battle, the writing, the declarations of love, but the villains did not deliver 🫠

I feel this world it’s getting bigger, that we are only seeing the surfaces. In the first book we met the characters, a little about their dreams and motivations. But now in this secuel we can understand better their relationship and how they develop in their surroundings. So I hope that in the next book we will meet new and old villains who will provide us with that drama❤️‍🔥

~I’ll kill for you 🥵
~I hate everyone but you😩
~Soulmates ♾️
~He wants her forgiveness 🙏
~Witches/werewolves/sorcerers 🔮🐺
~He worships the floor she walks on🧎‍♂️

"I love you, my Roxi, my Selene." he breathes against my skin. "I love you, I love you, I love you. A thousand lives wouldn't be enough with you, but I have to content myself with just this one."

My favorite part of this second book is Memnon's regrets. Him trying to earn Serene's forgiveness. Reading about someone who declares total adoration and obedience to their lover is very romantic 👀 and also reading the parts where he takes revenge on her abusers.😈

"Call me a monster, call me a devil, but you and I both know I will fucking shatter the rules for you." He stares at me fervently. “Always for you."

Mamnon was so good with his words, I started falling for him in the first book, but here we can really appreciate the devotion he has for his mate. And of course his dirty talk always made me laugh (and blush):

"You might get wet tonight, est amage, but not from the rain."👀

He has such a dirty mouth. He literally talks about girls blushing and I blush🤭:

"Love the way you blush, little witch. I hope you do that again when I eat you out like dinner later."

In conclusion, this book is sexy and dark, and about eternal romance.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

“Cities can burn and centuries can pass and none of it means anything to me without you. So stay safe, my queen. And remember: stab first, ask questions later.”

Laura Thalassa has done it again!! Her books are always a step above the rest and Bespelled was no different. The spice was great and the groveling was *chef’s kiss*!! So excited for the next book and novella!

Oh my, this was exactly what I wanted as the next installment in the series. It had drama, mystery, some redemption...but not entirely, can't expect an ancient warlord to just give up his ways after all. I thought the continuation of the world building we saw in the first book was excellent. The expansion of Memnon and Roxi's backstory was so well crafted. Selene's progression was also handled in a way that made sense knowing who she is and what she's been through and we really see her coming into her own power. I raced through this, the storytelling was just that good.

Bespelled is a wonderful book, and if I may, a better book than the first one in the series. Here, Selene remembers her past life as Memnon's queen and co-ruler, and how it all came crashing down thousands of years ago.

And Memnon, who has long believed Selene betrayed him, must now do whatever he needs to do in order to win her back. This is a story of redemption, of forgiveness, and of immense growth. If you like groveling, this is the book for you, but both sides must come to terms with both their past and their current predicaments and the feelings that threaten to tear them apart before they can be together.

I loved Laura's Horsemen series and this series is winning me over as well - her prose is compelling and kept me reading well past my self imposed limit, but both Memnon and Selene are such wonderful characters and their story makes the lack of sleep worth it.

First I'd like to thank Netgalley for my first arc. Cause hello I love me some Laura. This book comes out May 2024.

This book was absolutely amazing. I missed Selene, Nero and Memnon so much. I loved this book as much as I did the first. The world is absolutely amazing, the characters are lovable and hate-able. This book makes me wish I was a witch in this world. It's so fun, sexy and funny. The ending had me reeling. Ugh. Absolutely cannot wait for the next installment.

I didn’t think that book 2 could top Bewitched but it did! I absolutely love the relationship between Selene and Memnon. This book had such amazing action, banter, and spicy scenes. I love it so much.

I know Laura Thalassa has another series of books, so I will definitely be giving them a read

This was a great upgrade to bewitched. We have more of that plot and wow how did I enjoy Memnon realizing his mistakes. Selene definitely brought him down a notch. I was glad we finally get to hear what he has been doing while away with Selene. It makes so much more sense than it did in book 1. I also admire Selene’s choice of not giving in immediately, she definitely makes him work for their relationship. I enjoyed the flashbacks, a lot just finally made sense and I like where this is going now.

I loved the second installment more than the first. While Bewitched was necessarily disjointed due to Selene's memory loss, Bespelled builds as Memnon and Selene's relationship grows. Full of dark curses, gruesome battles, and a healthy dose of spice in all the right places, I was frantically flipping the pages towards the end.

I already reviewed this on Goodreads.

This was such a great story. There was so much banter and *the wanting* was so major. I had so much fun reading this and watching this relationship blossom. I can’t wait for the finale.

Thank you Sourcebooks and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC of this book!
I loved this book, which is the second in the Bewitched series. I devoured it and could not put it down! Sorcerer who did his wife dirty and grovels? Say no more. Action, fights, drama, steamy make ups? Yes please! I also felt the plot was a bit unique from other romantasy books. The banter was also a huge perk and I found myself chuckling out loud. I definitely recommend this series!
