Jacob is the first book in Lisa Marie Rice’s new Black Inc. series. This is a second chance, military romance that is suspenseful, action packed, and filled with intense passion and fantastic characters. It is written in third person from the point of views of the hero, the heroine, the antagonist and a few other key secondary characters.

It’s been eighteen years since tragic events and misunderstandings tore Alexandra Hethering and Jacob Black apart. Now a potentially catastrophic event begins Alex, a top-tier scientist at the CDC and Jacob, former SEAL and famous security expert together. But can he fight the distracting chemistry between them and his never forgotten feelings, in order to keep her alive and get their happily ever after? Read it and find out.

This book is an amazing start to a new and exciting series which shares elements and characters from Rice’s Women of Midnight series, in which readers were first introduced to Jacob Black. Rice has done a fantastic job creating amazing characters and intense, action packed love stories. I loved the very graphic and steamy scenes between Jacob and Alex. The soul deep connection between them evident from the start. I can’t wait for the next book in this intense and fascinating series.

This book hooked me from the word GO! Character of Jacob was done with so much strength & a touch of venerability. Alex broke my heart but her personality awed me. Their coming together & mission was steamy, hot, thrilling & action packed. So many characters i enjoyed knowing & want to know more off. Read it!

The romance here is instant, sizzling and fierce. I loved how determined Jacob was to hold fast to Alex once she entered his life again. He’s the perfect alpha hero as he displays all the traditional traits that I love in such a character. He’s obsessive, protective, and giving.

This is sharply written with fantastic details that added a level of sophistication I’m not accustomed to. I found myself completely engulfed within the story. I enjoyed everything about this and was anxious to find out what had happened and what was going to happen next.

I would have liked to have had more about their previous relationship and a look into how they were together during that time. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this read for those that enjoy romance with a little something more.

High technology, bioterrorism, politics, espionage - bio weapons that could kill millions - and it could all be reality, which makes this book all the more believable and tense. Add in your first love who abandoned you, and the plot does thicken ...
