Andrews’s book is captivating, heartwarming & beautiful. As in past books, this story touches on various topics such as loss, grief, new beginnings and love. Wrapped all around these topics is a story that contains a mystery or two that need to be solved, plot twists that keep coming & secrets that are revealed at just the right moments.

The narration for this book is handled by Kathleen McInerney who gives an outstanding narration. There are several characters working together in this story - both female and male; some are adults & some are college students - yet McInerney manages to make clear distinctions between them all throughout the entire book. She narrates using a good pace and allows all narration to flow easily from beginning to end.

I cannot say enough good things about this book/audio - I LOVED it! HIGHLY recommend - perfect for the coming season of summer!

Mary Kay Andrews does it again! The quintessential Southern summer read without all the normal cliches. I enjoyed the narration and the accents weren't too bad! The story kept my interest with the perfect balance of romance, action, and intrigue. I'd love to try some of the recipes mentioned and wouldn't turn down my own Summer at the Saint!

I can't believe this is the first Mary Kay Andrews book I have read. I've seen several and even own two besides this one yet have not read her until now. I listened to the audio. While the narrator did get on my nerves in places she still did a good job. The only complaint I have is that she made the two young ladies in the story sound like little young teens. But still she did good.

I started this book and fell in love with it's beauty. The beauty of the words and people. The way the words flowed so effortlessly through the pages. It's a long book but a quick read. I didn't want to put it down and didn't except to do things that absolutely had to be done. It swept me away to a beach resort in Georgia. This was a fun read but also had a mystery/thrill going on. A few things that had to be brought to justice.

This story contains a murder. A past rape. An illegitimate child. A secret that spanned quite a few years and that NO ONE knew except the two involved and their lawyers. Until one snooping, nosey, hateful, woman found out and caused so much to happen. There's a fire. Theft. So much and still it's a light hearted story that keeps you wanting more.

This author did such a good job of pulling everything together. Even a love interest or two thrown in for good measure. This resort sounds like a great place to vacation. Until things go bad. Then you might need to run. There are two young ladies who may be able to help. They are pretty good at solving a mystery when they are trying to survive.

Most all of the characters in this story are so likable. They made it so easy to love this setting and area. To let go of the bad characters enough to keep reading and hoping they would be caught and brought to justice. Yes this is a wonderful book. This author knows how to weave a story and through in a few knots along the way.

Thank you #NetGalley, #MaryKayAndrews, #MacmillanAudio, #StMartinsPress, for this ARC. This is my own true thoughts about this book.

Five big stars and a very high recommendation.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review the audio, Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews.

Great escape novel to a landmark hotel in Georgia. You’ll find traditions in this novel, but a lot of scandals that run deep.

The hotel, St. Cecelia is known as “the Saint.” If you grew up there you were known as a Saint, but if not then you was an Ain’t. lol

Traci was an outsider who was not wealthy enough to vacation there, but she did work there. After working one summer there, falling in love with a Saint and now later widowed, and owner of this popular hotel. Her brother in law is ready to make her life a nightmare. Staff shortages and financial woes make it easier for her greedy brother in law.

While Traci thinks there's no escape, she finds a hidden secret that threatens to her brother in laws image and uses it to her advantage.

Great novel, some poor language throughout, but a fun escape novel to a destination in Georgia. Loved the suspense and the romance together, and I thought Mary Kay tied it all together very well.

This story has two mysteries and a little romance. The mysteries are the center of the story and they eventually make a connection. The twists and turns made it a fun read. The foul language was strong and constant. The language took away from the enjoyment for me. This is not Andrews normal beach, so know that before you pick it up.

There was a large cast of characters to keep up. It was also a little repetitive which made it move on the slow side. There was some amateur sleuthing, which always annoys me. Overall, not your typical MKA book.

When the narrator started I had a hard time with her voice. It just didn't fit my idea of what the main character would sound like. After a while, I got into the story and the voice was okay.

I did not read this one per se, but listed to the audio book which was narrated by Kathleen McInerney. Thank you to Macmillan Audio, St Martin's Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy an advanced version of the audio book in exchange for my honest review. Kathleen McInerney does a great job at narration and is a familiar voice if you listen to audiobooks often. She is the voice of Mary Kay Andrews, The Homewreckers, Elin Hilderbrand's The Rumor and others. Her voice is far from distracting, clear with perfect enunciation.

A 3.5 beach read with a perfect beachside resort setting.I believe this is my 3rd Mary Kay Andrews book and I have to say it is a little different than her usual light beach reads. Usually they include a leading female character, a male vying for her love and attention and some sort of crises they have to endure. This one was a little heavier with murder and theft included with the usual family drama and with just enough intrigue to keep you interested in the storyline. I felt the beginning felt a little off with multiple pov and long list of characters but once the story gets going it is easy to follow along.

One pet peeve that I came across and spent way too much time pondering is there is a statement in the book about a "left side rear view mirror!!!!!" There must be something wrong with me that this lived in my head for days asking anyone I could if I was wrong and will mention in my notes to the publisher. The mirrors affixed to the cars left and ride side are "side view mirrors" and the one inside the car in the center or the windshield are rearview mirrors!

I will always, always feel an immediate connection between Mary Kay Andrews and summer. They just go together. Summers at the Saint was no different- I was lucky enough to receive the book & audio version for this title. I enjoyed both immensely and alternated between the two. I loved the story, loved the characters, loved the narrator. There’s nothing not to love in this one!

Thank you NetGalley & MacMillan Audio for an ARC copy of this title.

What I thought was going to be a more chill spring/summer read - ended up being filled with twists, turns & some warm fuzzy feelings too 🙌🏼

Exploring the lives of those who work at, own or manage The Saint Hotel and the various story lines that bring each person into the world of The Saint - I was mesmerized by the intricacies that the pages of this book entailed. It also allowed for the opportunity to see the depths of which people will go for money, power & to hide family secrets.

This book not only contained elements of contemporary fiction but threw in various aspects of a mystery & that hooked me back in when I wasn’t 100% sure of the book to begin with - but Mary Kay’s writing style and plot twists are impeccable! I’d highly recommend The Summers At The Saint!

Also - I flipped back and forth between ebook and audiobook & I have to say, the narration was very well done and provided such a great connection to the characters!

I listened to this story on audiobook and I enjoyed it. It was .a contemporary fiction/less intense mystery. When Traci Eddings sets out to hire new staff over the summer at the Saint her niece winds up dead. There are multiple characters, the women were way more likeable than the men. Having so many characters did make it a tad bit hard to follow at times. But over all I feel like this is a great summer read

3.75 ⭐️ This book was my first by this author. I was intimidated by the audiobook length so I listened on 1.5x speed. I thought this was going to be a summer romance but it was so much more. It was like watching a great summer drama tv show and it had family drama, workplace drama, murder mystery, and romance. I loved the resort setting and it reminded me of working a summer job. A lot of great and interesting characters to follow and really enjoyed the narration.

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan audio for this ARC! This book releases on May 7th, 2024.

A great story with great characters and really grabs your attention with its mix of mystery and posh charm. The story blends a captivating murder mystery with the challenges of running a fancy resort after a big crisis, keeping you hooked until the very end and wanting to keep reading. At its heart, this book is about the main character's strength, perseverance, and the deep friendships she makes to get through the tough times. She fights hard to keep the resort's strong legacy and family nature alive while uncovering the truth behind the mysteries - a great read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for the opportunity to listen and review this audiobook early ARC.

I discovered Mary Kay Andrews' books within the last few years. Since then, I've enjoyed each one I've read. Summers at the Saint is no different. It's another fine example of how well she writes characters. They are well developed and animated. You feel as if you know them personally in some ways. In addition, the storyline itself was rich with activity. Not only was there family drama, there was a side story that you don't necessarily see coming. There are tears and smiles. It's a well rounded conglomeration of just about everything and it's all blended together so well that you aren't exactly sure what your favorite piece is.

Overall, I think the thing that I liked most about this book is the fact that you're left wanting everyone to be able to feel equal with everyone else. Also, you can't help but be impressed by the level of story development that is involved. I enjoyed it all.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I recommend the audio. The narration was spot on in my opinion and really fit the characters. 5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley for early copies of both the audiobook and ebook.

This is a fun summer/beachy read. I've liked other books by this author too. This plot line is a mystery but still lots about working at the resort which I enjoyed. I liked all of the characters that end up working at the Saint, they are a bit of a unique bunch! I loved what Traci, the main character, was doing to help the Saint despite others trying to make her life difficult. There is also a bit of flashbacks that were well done and not confusing. This book will be out in May 2024. Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for this audiobook the narrator was great!

I received an audiobook ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I loved this book. Every book I have read by Mary Kay Andrews has been fantastic. I love the wide list of characters and seeing how each of their stories unfolds throughout the overarching plot of the book. This one in particular was the perfect summer read. I am usually pretty good at figuring things out when it comes to mysteries/thrillers, and while I did guess several of these aspects correctly, there were still twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I absolutely loved it and reading it felt like sitting on the beach with a mai tai and enjoying the ocean breeze dancing over my skin.

Thank you MacMillan Audio for the review copy! I have actually never read anything from this author before but I could not help myself with a desire to dive into something light and resort themed, it's a theme I do love. This book was just what I expected so that's a win, it isn't an amazingly deft read but it is fun, filled with some extra character depth and twists/mysteries than I expected (which did not muddy the plot too much), and a light touch that made this a perfectly fun, breezy read, just what I was looking for and expecting! The multi narrator style was also a win for me, it added to the sense that I was at the resort and being in the experience of each character, which is what set this up as a stronger than expected audiobook for me!

3.5 star plot, 4.0 audiobook experience!

Summer starts with MKA so with this I’m officially in beach read season!! This book has all the hallmarks of a classic MKA summer book: mystery, romance, complicated families, and strong female protagonists. 🙌🏻 I really enjoyed it, even if it did make me wish I was on a warm beach right now. Thanks to Macmillan audio for the copy via NetGalley. I enjoyed the audiobook! The book comes out on May 7!

Mary Kay’s book is full of wonderful and likable characters. The plot was super fun! Something about it gives me a modern great gatsby vibe but I was super into it! I still have a few unanswered questions in the end but I can only speculate! Or start a book club to try and figure out the answers!
This is my first Mary book and I would love to read more!

Widowed Traci Eddings is the proprietress of The Saint an exclusive resort owned by her deceased husband’s family. As she struggles to keep his beloved hotel afloat, she deals with her conniving brother-in-law, disgruntled staff, and a series of mysteries that lead to the death of someone she loves.

The story is also narrated by various staffers who live in the on-site staff dormitory and a man in town to solve a crime from the past. There are lots of subplots, including a romance and 2 murder mysteries, but the heart of this novel is about Traci reclaiming her life and her hotel.

Why I Liked it: I’m a sucker for a resort setting, and since I read this one on my recent spring break, the vibes were vibing. While the large cast of characters was a struggle at first, I quickly got them straight and found value in each of their perspectives.

Kick off the summer with Mary Kay Andrews newest novel Summers at the Saint! Told with MKA's southern sass and charm, this novel packs a punch with all the big theme's...romance, mystery and murder.

Everyone on the Georgia coast knows if you grew up vacationing at The Saint, you came from the right side of the river and if you didn't, well you were an "Ain't." Traci Eddings was one of those outsiders whose family wasn’t rich enough or connected enough to vacation here. But she could work here. That's where she met her late husband Hoke and her best "estranged" friend Shannon. After Hoke's death Traci inherits her fair share of problems at The Saint and the mysteries begin to unravel triple fold! Can anyone at The Saint be trusted?

Filled with laugh out loud moments, the pacing is brisk and the plot twists and turns will keep you guessing!

Special thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Macmillan Audio for an advance reader copy. Available May 4th.
