I did not finish this book. While I appreciate the offer to have the novel., I have stopped reading any romance novels that stray more into erotica.

Cake came out before the Whiskey Sharp series. However, I read it after I read the first three books in that series. Wren and Gregori are side characters that show up occasionally in the series, so it was nice to go back and see how they ended up together. The story was cute. I loved Wren and her determination not to give up on something that she knew was amazing between them. I really enjoyed this novella. It's a good stand alone, so give it a shot.

Two artists that couldn't be more different in so many ways, Wren and Gregori both like each other, but Gregori's fame keeps them apart, among other things. Wren has a need to make a name for herself without Gregori's help, and I totally get that. Thankfully Wren doesn't give up on her dreams. And when Gregori tries to run, she doesn't give up on him.

Cake was a sweet, funny, and sensual bite of steamy romance. I absolutely love Lauren Dane's books and although I am not a fan of novellas this short story was a great read. The two main characters have a friendship that develops into something more intimate. Wren and Gregori share a chemistry that is undeniably sweet and will leave you craving more.

Cake is a fun and quick read that hits the spot! I would recommend you give it a try.
