I love highland romances and I did not like this. I felt like this was not fully thought out and the writing lacked as a result.

Lord Miles is besieged by his mother to marry and produce an heir. Having been disillusioned by rampant infidelity in the Ton, he has no intention of ever taking a wife. His feelings begin to change once he meets Siobhan, who also plans to never marry. There is an instant attraction between the two. However, Siobhan's mother has her eye on him for her sister and does everything she can to keep them apart. This was a great story and I will definitely recommend.
Thank you Hildie McQueen, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

Miles Johnstone has no desire to marry. No lady has made him feel the need to, until he meets Siobhan Blair. Not like other young ladies, she doesn't let anyone stop her from what she wants to do. Head strong and challenging, Miles is intrigued. Soon he is her savior and protector. Soon their mothers are planning a wedding. They both got caught. Just when he gains her trust he disappears. The last book in an enjoyable series. Explicit sex.

A Rogue to Ensnare is the 4th book in the series Rogues of the Lowlands by Hildie McQueen. Siobhan Blair and Lord Miles Johnstone are forced into marriage by their families after Miles rescues Siobhan from a kidnapping. They both initially make the best of it, since they already kind of fancy each other. I liked both Siobhan and Miles and even Miles' friends -and I didn't even previously know the side characters. I do wish more time would have been spent on Miles' headaches. This secret was revealed late in the story to Siobhan. She really did want to help him in any way she could, and I wish we got to see that aspect of their story. That could've really been a relationship building opportunity.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

This is the fourth book in a series, and if like me you have read the previous stories, the opening pages will be familiar. But that doesn't mean that you have to have read them to enjoy this one. Although they are linked because the heroes are best friends each has his own story. Neither of our lead characters have any desire to marry any time soon. The heart however has its ways of changing minds.
All the characters are good fun, and it's easy to fall in love with them. There is a little danger and some surprises. I thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
Good fun.

A typical plot

A nice historical romance novel with very likable characters, a few minor twists and a bit of steam in marital bed (level 2-3) but not extraordinary. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't much connection to Scotland, the location was interchangeable for me. Some of the subplots were not developed enough.

Although Miles is the heir to a dukedom and his three best friends have recently married, he has no interest in getting married anytime soon. The problem is that he's the most eligible bachelor and young ladies and their conniving mothers are trying to ensnare him, including Ms Amelia Blair, a conceited, self-centred woman he can't abide. Rather, he is fascinated by her younger sister Siobhan, who is the opposite of her.

Siobhan is beautiful, vivacious and warm-hearted. She loves her charity work, and unlike her sister, she doesn't care about societal events or getting married.
She likes Miles, and when she learns of her mother's plans, she thwarts them and warns him off.

But when she is kidnapped and injured while visiting a poor family, Miles rescues her and rumors start to fly about them and they are forced to marry...

I recommend the book to all who enjoy easy-to-read historical romances with sympathetic characters.

Siohban is definitely NOT the sister everyone thinks of when a diamond is mentioned. It’s her sister. But when she is hurt nothing will stop Lord Johnstone from protecting her.
As many people can imagine Siohban is the typicaal klutz and not worth much in society eyes. But she is worth much more than diamonds in those who know her. This the 4th in the series. Although I found this book not as well as the other in the series , I still found it charming and romantic.

An elite, snobbish Lord has no desire to be caught by matchmaking Mommas and their daughters. Rather, Lord Miles Johnstone enters a wager with his friends that he can seduce a woman to gain a large sum of money to finance a ship heading to the West Indies. Will Miles win or lose that particular wager?
Siobhan has no marriage pospects and is not your average young lady eager for a Season. Siobhan is often overlooked and ignored due to her striking society eager sister. Siobhan is much more interested in helping those with so little, especially a sick widow and her children. Neither Miles or Siobhan can let go of their feelings for the other, and their romance builds slowly.
Wonderful story! I received an ARC from Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley.

Wow! I don't think this story misses anything related to adventures! Siobhan is a young woman who gets involved in a wide variety of scraps. Miles is a young Lord who has a mother hounding him to marry. As he runs into Siobhan, he becomes more protective of her. A lovely story, has a bit of a disjointed plot but wraps up well. The last of a series that can stand alone, however as Miles friends are referred in this story, you may be drawn to read their stories as well.

Scandals, Fortunes, Captivating Romance:
We meet Miles the last of the group of rogues to come up with the money for the sponsorship that will bring all four fortunes.
Miles is being hounded by his mother to forget about his adventure and settle down an get married. He is opposed to that idea. Never wanting to get married, but this is a romance story after all.
He unexpectedly meets the most captivating young girl with amazing eyes that sends shock wave through his heart. That's never happened before.
Enter Siobhan and highly spirited girl that does not follow the rules of convention. Through thick a thin and many unfortunate circumstances the two are undeniably attracted to each other., but there are a few problems to overcome first.
Medling mothers, jealous sister, physical health secrets, an OMG! treacherous abduction that wasn't really explained why. With all of that going on it really was an enjoyable romance story.
I really enjoyed Miles. He was much more caring than I expected. His healing kisses were sweet. Sweet does not mean there was not some heated passion. The sparkling passion in the last few chapters brought my rating up to a solid 4-star story.
Siobhan was a firecracker in life with all of her antics and it was wonderful to see just how generous she was to the poor and needy.
❔Honestly there were a couple of situations that left me scratching my head.

This story revolves around a non rougish, rogue and a free spirited woman who doesn't fit into societal standards.
They're both strong armed into a marriage due to their meddling mothers after a incident that occurs.

I must admit I expected something different. When you mentioned Scottish in the blurb and the cover has a guy with a plaid on, you think... Scottish accents. Words like aye, lad and lass. It flows through their character. Yet both characters fell short. You think highlands or even lowlands and descriptions thereof. There's alot of unanswered questions and poor character development.
I didn't enjoy the story or the writing.

Received this book from Netgalley for a honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

An incredibly good read from one of my favorite authors, with a good blend of wit and steam. She is unusual, smart and independent. He is an honorable man of pure heart in a rogue's clothing. A mendling mother tries to set them apart but their hearts meant for them to be together.

I liked the MMCS and overall enjoyed the book but I just have so many questions??

I felt like the book wasn’t finished and it became very rushed and time jumpy once they got married. Like what happened to the family she was helping? What was his solution?
And the wager that’s mentioned in the blurb doesn’t get mentioned until midway through the book so I had completely forgot it was part of the plot? I feel like it should’ve been mentioned much earlier.
Then Siobhan says she doesn’t really know him and doesn’t know who she married and then he barely apologises to her but she forgives him and there’s still no solution? Like are they going to spend more time together and get to know each other? We just get told about involving her in the plan to care for him but we didn’t see a scene of it actually happening?
Felt like when they got married it suddenly became all talk no action - we just got scenes of them saying what they’ll do things but the book doesn’t actually show any of it. They lost their connection and chemistry once they got married 😭

I think this book just needs to be fleshed out a little bit more to tie off some loose strings. It’s got a good premise and characters but I’m just not convinced on their romance.

This is an entertaining romance that starts well and draws the reader into the ballrooms of the Scottish Lowlands where the elusive heir to a dukedom is targeted by ambitious mothers, some more so than others. In an effort to escape their attentions, Miles Johnstone collides with Siobhan Blair, a young woman who has as little interest in marriage as he does. When Miles discovers Siobhan and her friend in a poorer part of the city giving aid to a woman and her children, he is horrified and develops protective feelings for her. When the worst happens, Miles will move heaven and earth to save Siobhan, but unfortunately, it lands him straight into the clutches of her mother, the one woman he would rather avoid at all costs. Miles and Siobhan's story ends well, but I found the latter part of the book rather slow-paced and a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, it does come to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift from Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
