I grew up with a border collie and chose this book nearly solely based on the cover; I’m a sucker for any book with a herding breed dog. And the story didn’t disappoint. Told in alternating perspectives of Jake and Jenna (the human main characters) and Seven (the aforementioned border collie), the book starts out with an emotional punch that doesn’t let up. Seven’s chapters are a unique and endearing twist on your typical dual-perspective narration style and had me tearing up at times. Definitely a tear jerker of a romance, but there are lighthearted moments and moments of hope and love to balance it out. Would definitely recommend to anyone who liked Marley and Me or The Art of Racing in the Rain.

I don't normally read books about dogs and dog related romance stories. However, this cover and title captured my attention. I thought it was a sweet novel, and it entertained me between heavier story lined books. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
