Hailey wants 'normal' after a life in the lime-light. In comes Caleb. A handsome, caring young man, Caleb scares the hell out of Hailey with his honesty and easy-charm. She wants more, but is scared of Caleb's reaction to her secret.
First of, how great is that cover? I love it. It was what attracted me to the book in the first place.
I really wanted to love the story too, but it was not to be.
Hailey
I don't know what it was about her, but she just grated on my nerves. Maybe because she was an 18-year old celebrity? I don't know. I just couldn't relate to her or connect to her in any way.
Caleb
He was a tad too perfect. I like my characters to have some flaws but Caleb had none that I could find. He was too eager and too fast in declaring his love. He didn't feel real to me either.
Sex scenes
I found myself cringing every time I came upon a love scene. As a mother of three girls, I was appalled. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy my sex scenes as much as the next gal, but I couldn't deal with these. Maybe because Hailey seemed so immature to me? Maybe because some added nothing to the story? It just didn't work for me.
The Big Secret
Hailey's big secret turned out to be anti-climatic after all the fuss she made about it. One part of it was bad, but the other part didn't seem such a big deal after you took everything into consideration.
The Writing
I found the writing to be simple and too cliché for my taste considering that these characters were to be considered 'matured'.
The insta-love scenario was too much for me to accept. There was no development of their connection—no growth of any kind—just wham! They need and love each other.
Having said all that, I admit that the concept behind the story was an interesting one. Plus, I did enjoy the secondary characters, especially Griff and Daphne. I can't wait to read more about them.
I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

I found this protagonist, incredibly hard to like. She is self centred, naive and annoyingly girly?
That aside, this book is a great summer read. Well written and the pacing was perfect.
