Love K.C. Mills books but for some reason I couldn’t get into this. I do wanna come back at a later time and try to see if I can get into it because sometimes the second time around be a go.
I hate rating a book I haven’t completed to I’ll gracefully give 3⭐️ for now.

*Innocent Intent* by KC Mills is a fast-paced, engaging romantic suspense novel that blends passion with intrigue. This book offers readers a thrilling ride through the complexities of love, betrayal, and justice, all wrapped up in a high-stakes narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The story centers around Mia, a strong and determined woman who is caught in a web of lies after she becomes entangled with a man who is hiding a dangerous secret. Her life takes a drastic turn when she finds herself involved in a criminal investigation and must navigate the murky waters of deceit and betrayal. The plot twists and turns as Mia's world unravels, and she is forced to decide who she can trust and whether she can forgive those who have wronged her.
Mills does a great job of building suspense throughout the novel. The pacing is steady, and the tension between Mia and her love interest is palpable, with sizzling chemistry that will keep romance readers hooked. However, it’s the unexpected twists and turns that make *Innocent Intent* stand out. Each chapter seems to bring a new revelation, creating a sense of urgency that propels the story forward.
One of the key strengths of Mills' writing is her ability to develop well-rounded characters. Mia is a relatable protagonist who feels real and vulnerable, yet strong in her own way. The male lead, whose identity and intentions are shrouded in mystery, adds an intriguing layer of tension to the story. Their complicated relationship keeps readers guessing, unsure of whether they can trust each other, making for an emotionally charged narrative.
The novel’s blend of romance and suspense is a perfect balance, appealing to fans of both genres. Mills doesn’t shy away from delving into deeper themes of trust, betrayal, and redemption, which gives the story emotional weight. The secondary characters also add depth to the plot, enriching the world in which Mia is navigating her dangerous love affair.
However, the novel does lean heavily into some familiar tropes, and certain moments may feel predictable for readers who are well-versed in the romantic suspense genre. That being said, the execution of the twists and the high stakes of the narrative make up for any clichés, delivering an enjoyable and gripping read.
Overall, *Innocent Intent* is a captivating story of love and danger that will keep readers intrigued from start to finish. With a combination of sizzling romance, unexpected twists, and a strong, complex heroine, KC Mills offers a compelling book for fans of romantic suspense and those looking for a page-turner that delivers both heart and thrill.

KC Mills has become one of my auto buy authors. I love her writing and this story did not disappoint. I think she should definitely dip her toes into suspense more often because the plot twist were good and it kept me interested.

Innocent Intent by K.C. Mills took me on a wild ride. Cassidy Evans, a criminal psychologist turned author, is brilliant at reading others but completely blindsided by the lies from the person closest to her—her husband. When she discovers he’s the murder victim at a crime scene, everything unravels. Suddenly, she’s the prime suspect, and lead detective Nathaniel Davis is determined to uncover her secrets.
I loved the slow-building tension and the unexpected twists that kept me guessing. Cassidy’s character was strong, smart, and yet totally caught off guard by the betrayal. Nathaniel’s relentless pursuit of the truth only added to the intrigue.
This book had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn’t put it down. 5 stars for a suspenseful romance with Black MCs that kept me hooked the entire way through.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was definitely a page turner, I always try to guess the outcome and I don’t think I came close. Overall a good book and recommend

hooked from the jump. Bishop and Nyla? Whew, their story had me all in my feelings. Bishop is one of those quiet, mysterious types that just draws you in without even trying, and Nyla? She’s strong, independent, and not about to let anyone walk all over her. I love a woman who knows her worth!
What I liked most about this book is how real it felt. It’s not just some over-the-top love story where everything falls into place perfectly. It’s messy, it’s emotional, and it feels genuine. The connection between Bishop and Nyla builds so naturally you can feel the tension simmering, and when it finally comes together, it’s everything.
KC Mills really has a way of making you feel like you know these characters personally. There were moments where I wanted to shake Bishop like, “Sir, please get it together,” and other moments where I was rooting for Nyla like she was my best friend. And the drama? Just enough to keep you flipping pages without it feeling like too much.
This isn’t just a romance it’s about two people figuring out themselves and each other, and I loved every minute of it. If you’re into stories that pull you in with strong characters and a lot of heart, this one is worth checking out. Just trust me, it’s the kind of book that sticks with you.

As always K C Mills does a beautiful job! I love everything she writes. She will always be a drop what book you are reading and read her new release.

nnocent Intent by KC Mills was an engaging read with compelling characters and a well-paced storyline. As a KC Mills fan I was definitely interested in seeing how this book turned out because I’m used to romance from her! As someone who isn’t much of a thriller girly this was a perfect introduction to that genre. This book kept me on a ride the entire time and I loved it!!

Money, motives and a little bit of misconduct! Possibly a mystery too... personally I think Innocent Intent was mismarketed as a thriller when it should have been labeled as a mystery. At no point did we believe Cassidy was guilty and it was all about proving it.
My interest was piqued with trying to determine who framing Cassidy, however I had one minor problem with the why. You can't tell me you want her to pay for her wrongdoing but didn't want her to be framed for murder. At the end of the day it's either day it's either going to be you are me and it sholl ain't about to be me!
I also could have lived without the romance... I know KC is most notably a romance author but here it seemed like a means to an end for both of them rather than a relationship built to last. I could have acknowledged if they mutually used each other given the circumstance but ultimately moving in together seems to be a stretch.
However I was here for the underlying backstory and needed to see it through.

Innocent Intent by K.C. Mills had all the right ingredients for a great romantic suspense. The drama, secrets, and mildly spicy scenes kept me hooked and worked really well. All of the revelations about Cassidy and her husband’s past, kept me racing to beat my Kindle’s "time to complete." While the twists didn’t quite hit the mark for a true thriller, it’s a solid effort for this author’s first attempt at the genre. If you're looking for something with more drama and romance than thriller-level twists, this one is a solid 4-star read!

I think I came in with the wrong expectations for this story. I came in for the thriller aspects but that fell flat for me. There isn’t any tension with anything going on and it feels like half of the scenes are just filler. It leans more to the romance side, which I should have expected considering the author is a romance author. But the summary didn't give me any indication that the book would focus on building the romance with the characters instead of the mystery. I’m highly disappointed. I think I'll just stick to this author's regular contemporary romance.

I loved the plot and theme of this book this book was absolutely contagious I could not put it down this was my first KC Mills book but won't be my last. Thank you for the advance copy reading

This book kept me guessing until the end. There's suspense, secrets, and love throughout. K.C. Mills had me acting like a detective trying to solve the case. I loved it.

3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ .75 stars! Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. Cassidy was a criminal psychologist and is currently a bestselling author and has been married for three years to Niles. Niles is a private investigator and he travels for work. Overall, they have a great relationship.
Cassie starts feeling like something is going on with Niles when she overhears one of his phone calls and decides to follow him. She follows him to an apartment complex that she didn’t know about and thinks that he’s cheating on her. The next day, she goes to a murder scene with one of her law enforcement friends and realizes that it was Niles that was killed.
Detective Nate Davis is working this case trying to find any leads on who would’ve murdered Niles. So far, all leads are pointing to Cassidy as the min suspect but she is claiming her innocence.
Cassidy is trying to prove her innocence while also keeping a secret, while Nate is trying to find out whodunit. Nate decides to keep Cassidy close to him because not sure if he should believe her or not. While Nate is getting more info on Niles’ past, Cassidy is learning more about Niles and she starts to realize maybe she didn’t know her husband after all. I didn’t predict the ending. Really good thriller that I recommend.

From the very first chapter, this book had me completely engrossed. The twists and turns were absolutely fantastic. Cassidy Evans, a charismatic criminal psychologist, discovers that her husband is not who she thought he was, adding a thrilling layer to the narrative. The intense romance between the almost main suspect and the detective was palpable throughout. This story kept me guessing until the very last page, and the ending was simply amazing—I can't stop thinking about it! K.C. Mills has done a phenomenal job with this book, making it a top read for me this year. I would definitely pick it up again!
Special thanks to Black Odyssey Media and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars
I did enjoy this quite a bit. Although I would say this was more of a romantic suspense than a thriller.
Anyway, I pretty much figured out who did it very early but I did enjoy the ride to the very end.
Thanks to Black Odyssey Media and Netgalley for the ARC!

A man is suddenly killed and of course the wife is the main suspect and it doesn’t help that she was seen on camera at the apartment hours before he was found. Thought that isn’t even the craziest part his wallet shows him as someone else entirely, someone she never knew. This is when the story really picks up and we start to wonder who is a liar and killer.
I think this was a great story with hints sprinkled in throughout, I will say I guessed the killer but didn’t guess the why. The why is what really made this story so good.

An enjoyable read. If you enjoy a suspenseful romance you will like this one . This book was interesting and kept me guessing throughout.
