When i saw that K.C. Mills had a murder mystery thriller and, of course, some romance book coming out! I just had to read it, and I am here for it! This book had me in a chokehold from start to finish. I devoured this book in a day. I was hooked and just had to know who did it and why. @67% I figured out who did it. But the twist and turns at the end had my mind blown! K.C. Mills did a great job with this book. Highly recommend.
Cassidy Evans is a criminal psychologist. She spent years solving groundbreaking cases by shifting through the minds and behaviors of those driven by the darkness that controls them. After years of dedicated field work, Cassidy decides to retire and share her expertise in killers’ mentalities as novelists. As a published author, she’s now happily married and spends most of her time traveling the world and sharing with others how to understand the twisted minds that drive bad behaviors. Unfortunately, with all of the knowledge that Cassidy is armed with, she somehow overlooks the lies of the person closest to her. When she tags along to a crime scene with an old colleague, Cassidy is shocked to discover that the victim is her husband. If that’s not enough to send her world spiraling, she also finds out that the identity of the murdered victim, doesn’t match the name on their marriage license. Things quickly escalate when Cassidy becomes the main suspect.

Thank you, Netgalley, and Black Odyssey Media for the (eArc)-eBook for my honest review.

This was interesting and well paced. It seems so different from the previous KC Mills works, but not in a bad way.

I absolutely ate this up!!
As a thriller girl who likes a little romance, this was done perfectly!!
I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was really going on! & even then I didn’t expect the plot twists at the end!

An edge of the seat gripping novel! The twists and turns of this book had me reeling until the very end! I loved Cassidy!! I seriously could not put this book down!

Thank you so much to Black Odessey Media and the Author for the Arc copy. I really enjoyed this thriller. I had an idea of how it would end and lets just say this book is not as predictable as you think. I appreciate the touches of romance which I believe helped elevate the story and form a deeper connection to the main characters. I love the way the ending was laid out and how everyone found out the truth. So Bold and intriguing!! Great work and would recommend this and encourage reads to grab their copy when it releases.

I love me a good crime romance that keeps me on my toes – this was such a great story. I had a few problems with the fact that the case was a bit compromised due to the sexual involvement of the suspect with the detective. Given her past, you‘d think that she‘d learn from her mistakes. Knowing how the law/court works, this could’ve definitely worked against their favour. Other than that, I‘d definitely recommend this book!

Cassidy Evans is a world renowned criminal psychologist who finds herself as the prime suspect in her husband’s murder. With her world upside down and no one to trust, Cassidy begins to question everything she thought she knew about her life.
Nathanial Davis is the new detective of the APD, and is assigned to Cassidy’s husband’s murder. Nate is confident in himself and he isn’t interested in making any friends, due in part to his own past as a detective in NY. Can the two trust one enough in order to find the killer?
Overall, the story was engaging and exciting. I enjoyed learning the back stories of the characters involved. I’m fairly good at figuring out who-done-its and this book kept me stumped until about 80%!

Things I didn’t like:
1) There was a point where the story lagged a bit (hence the 4 rather than 5 star rating), but it picked back up and had an exciting ending.
2) I also gave 4 stars because there were some aspects of the story that seemed a little far-fetched but I cannot deny how entertaining this book is overall. For example, the fact that Cassidy was adamant about not trusting anyone else because both her husband and her assistant were plotting her demise. Then she decides to trust the man who doesn’t trust that she didn’t kill her husband. It just seemed unrealistic.
3) there were some awkward word choices at times but nothing too unbearable.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Innocent Intent in exchange for my honest review!

Absolutely LOVED!! This is what I mean when I say I want some romance in my thrillers. It was done perfectly. The plot gripped me from the start and the suspense of who did it held me the entire book. Would definitely recommend if you like a little romance in your suspense/thriller reads.

The story flowed well and the characters were well developed. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.
****Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review****

This book is for readers who prefer a little bit of romance with their mysteries. I would definitely classify this book as more of a mystery novel than a thriller because it kept me hooked and guessing the whole way, but not to the level of a thriller. I'm more of an avid romance reader than the mystery/thriller genre, so you should take that with a grain of salt.
The FMC is heavily suspected of killing her husband. With a lot of evidence stacked against her and an obvious secret of her own, Cassidy has her work cut out for her, convincing Detective Davis that she's not the murderer. Overall, it was well-written, well-pasted, and completely engaging to the very end. The author also does a great job of depicting the undeniable chemistry between Cassidy and Detective Davis. I would highly recommend this book to lovers of this genre/subgenre.

This book started off good and just kept getting better. I was totally locked in and almost thought I was a detective lol! I liked how this was a thriller mystery but also had that dash of romance! Love a “forbidden love” trope! Cant wait to read more thrillers from this author.
Thank you for my advanced copy!

I absolutely love everything about a romance thriller! KC Mills captured me from the very beginning and I instantly turned into a detective while reading this book! I’m impressed that I wasn’t able to predict who did what! I would like to read more thrillers from KC Mills.

This book had me hooked from the start, and I couldn't tear myself away! Cassidy Evans is seriously the coolest character ever. I mean, she's a criminal psychologist turned novelist? How epic is that? But when her own husband turns up dead, and she's the prime suspect? Talk about a jaw-dropping twist!
The suspense in this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Every time I thought I had it all figured out, Mills threw in another curveball that left me reeling. And Cassidy's romance with Detective Nathaniel Davis is so intense! I love their relationship!
But what really blew my mind was how the story kept me guessing until the very end. There were so many twists and turns, I couldn't predict what would happen next. And Mills' writing style? Absolutely flawless!
"Innocent Intent" is a must-read for thriller lovers. It's fast-paced, action-packed, and has a romance that'll make your heart race. I couldn't put it down, and I'm dying to read more from K.C. Mills!

When I heard K. C. Mills was releasing a thriller, I was excited - but a thriller with some romance?! YES, PLEASE!
Cassidy is a Criminal Psychologist who mysteriously finds herself at the center of her husband’s murder investigation. Not only is she the prime suspect but she has to come to terms with the fact that the man she loved is not at all who she thought he was.
Detective Nate Davis is the lead Detective on Cassidy’s case. He’s fairly new to the department and a loner with some past troubles of his own. His mission is to find the truth but once he meets Cassidy- they find themselves drawn to one another. Will Nate’s attraction to Cassidy cloud his judgement? You’ll have to read and find out 🫣
If you enjoy your thrillers with a side of romance, I definitely recommend checking this out when it releases 6/25!
Thank you #netgalley and #BlackOdysseyMedia for the advanced copy!

This book was good from start to finish. I love a good suspense and to add a little bit of romance took it to the next level. I loved that Cassidy was smart and held in high regard in her career but that we were also able to see her vulnerability. Nate was also very good at his job but Cassidy had him second guessing himself. I’m looking forward to more in this genre from this author.
Thanks to Black Odyssey Group and Net Galley for the ARC.

Ive been a fan of KC Mills work for about a year now and honestly.. this is my favorite full novel of hers. I was hooked from the first page and was rooting for Cassidy and Davis to unfold the truth. The plot twist took me off guard, I suspected who was behind everything but once the REASON unfolded oh hunny I never wouldve known. Overall I really enjoyed this story I would have read it in one sitting if I didnt have to go out and be an adult lol. I highly recommend!
This is perfect for fans of Criminal Minds and for the lover girls who want to try out the thriller genre but still need a lil romance on the side

All I can say is I knew it from the beginning but the plot twist was phenomenal lol ! That curve ball had me shook! Such a great book !

When I say this book had me in a chokehold. It did. The author did not waste any time. Straight out the gate, you learn about my homegirl, Cassidy! Yes, we locked in. And the man whom she is married to, Niles. Or should I say, Jerrod? Giving energy of " you done fed me a TV dinner". Because, sir, who are you? Serect life? As we learn new characters in the story, it flows so evenly. Everyone introduced plays their part and what they bring to the story. Do you want suspense? You got it! Want to know what happens next, on the edge of your seat? You got it! When I say, I wanted a mystery that would snatch my edges completely back, K.C. Mills did exactly that!

I’m a big KC Mills fan so when I saw a new book that was so different from the urban books she writes, I had to read it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, there were so many twists and turns, the plot just kept thickening. Just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist. Everything Cassidy Evans thought she knew about her married life was a lie. Cassidy had all signs pointing towards her in her husband’s murder and Detective Davis was adamant about solving the case. I loved the ending and never even thought it would play out like it did. Overall, really great read KC Mills, you have done it again.

A Whodoneit with Romance
This is a perfect example of an traditionally published book with indie nuance.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm a " whodoneit" reader and take pride in catching the killer early in the book. I thought I guessed it then changed my mind about 3 times. I'm also a contemporary romance lover and this was a good blend of murder and romance. I appreciated the building attraction between Nate and Cassidy. I hope to read more from this author.
