Jessica Redlands is a brilliant writer. Her books transport you to wherever they are set and her characters described so well that you become invested in them. This book can be read as a stand alone book but has some of the same main characters and setting as Healing Hearts at Bumblebee Farm, this book follows the story of Zara, but touches on characters that we met in the bumblebee farm book. This is an uplifting story full of hope.

Relax with a cuppa and I guarantee you won't put this book down until the end,

This is a heartwarming tale that delicately weaves together themes of love, loss, and the transformative power of connection. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Yorkshire Wolds countryside, this novel invites readers on a journey of self-discovery and second chances.

At the center of the story are two characters, Zara and Snowy, who couldn't be more different yet find themselves drawn together by fate. Zara, a spirited producer's assistant with a nomadic lifestyle, grapples with unresolved family issues and unrequited love. In contrast, Snowy leads a solitary existence at Owl's Lodge, homeschooling his son and tending to injured owls, but harbors his own doubts and regrets.

Their initial encounter is fraught with tension, but as they navigate their shared passion for caring for animals, a tender friendship blooms. Redland skillfully portrays the complexities of human emotion, capturing the hesitancy and vulnerability that comes with opening up to others. Through heartfelt dialogue and poignant moments, she explores the healing power of companionship and the importance of letting go of the past to embrace the future.

What sets this novel apart is Redland's ability to infuse warmth and authenticity into her characters, making them feel like old friends. From the idyllic countryside setting to the charming cast of supporting characters, every aspect of the story is imbued with a sense of sincerity and depth.

Through the intertwining stories of Zara and Snowy, Redland reminds us that life is full of unexpected possibilities, and that sometimes all it takes is a single moment of connection to spark a new beginning.

In a world where we often feel isolated and disconnected, this novel serves as a poignant reminder of the power of human connection to heal and transform.

I loved this book, as I have loved all of Jessica Redland's other books. I love learning more information about topics, in this case owls, alcoholics & gymnastics. The two main characters were lovely & all of the supporting characters as well. I especially loved Snowy's grandfather. I would have loved for Zara's relationship with her brother to be repaired in the end, but life doesn't always work out that way. Keep writing these wonderful books please! They are so easy to follow & make me happy!

Another great book from Jessica. Zara loves her job as an assistant to Amber on tv shows when she finds an injured owl and takes it to Owls Lodge

I adore Jessica Redland’s writing, she has me hooked on anything Whitsborough Bay and Hedgehog Hollow related. I liked Bumblebee Barn, but thought it was a standalone spin-off from hedgehog hollow, so was really pleased to find another instalment featuring some characters & places I got to know in previous books.
However, I have mixed feelings about this book, primarily because I’m not convinced that the run up to summer is the best time to release a book set at Christmas, New Year and the winter months, As much as the weather doesn’t feature heavily in the book, it is unavoidably set during December onwards, so I’m unsure whether I would want to read it during the summer. I would jump on this book to read in the winter, cosying up in the warmth or reading around the festive period, but not so much on holiday, in the garden or aroubd the pool.
Jessica’s storytelling is, as always, a delight, with interesting, fully-formed characters, but this book just didn’t grab me the way her others have.
A good read, but save it for winter.

Another gorgeous peek into the world of Jessica Redlands characters. I can never resist her books, after reading Healing Hearts at Bumblebee Lodge I had hoped for a sequel and so it was a delight to find out this book went back and this time told Zaras story.
I loved the dynamic between her and Snowy, his story was a difficult one to tell but I always appreciate how sensitively Jessica is able to tell difficult stories. She approaches them with care and love and gives us a lot of information in a sensitive way. This was no exception.
Also the root of the strained relationship between Zara and her family was delicately discussed and showed strength and confidence that Zara was able to negotiate the trials with her mother so well.

I found the Owls a fantastic side thread, I do miss our hedgehogs from the Hollow so I was excited to find another woodland animal theme running through the story.

All in all as usual I loved everything about this book and I urge you to grab your copy when it comes out in May!

Another enjoyable story by Jessica. I hadn’t read any of the Hedgehog series but that wasn’t a problem. Great characters, loved the link to owls and gymnastics. An emotional story told in a sensitive way.

I’m on the blog tour next month

Another absolute joy to read thank you Jessica Redland. I read this book whilst away at Centre Parcs which was the perfect setting snuggled in our lodge looking out into the Forest. I loved the dual chapters between Snowy and Zara which made me want to read more and more. i definitely said just one more chapter many a time. It was also great to catch up with the hedgehog hollow and bumblebee barn gang. This can be read as a standalone but i would recommend reading bumblebee barn first as it does set the scene for owl lodge. I will forever be searching the skies for owls and wishing i could live at owl lodge with Snowy.

I enjoyed this. It has some complicated plot lines but I was happy with the way the story unfolded. Friendships, Loss, Romance and Family all rolled together in a community spirit. I like Jessica’s books and look forward to reading more.

4 ⭐️ What a sweet and heartwarming story! I absolutely loved the UK countryside setting, I felt so comforted by the descriptions of the nature environments and the way the writing was done it was very easy to feel immersed in the story. The characters were super relatable and my heart was hurting for Snowy 🥺 I was rooting so hard for them and I found myself super giddy when Zara become sure of what she wanted, taking charge and initiating their relationship because Snowy was struggling with who he was ❤️‍🩹 It was such a sweet, wholesome and unproblematic relationship and I was swooning so hard throughout their whole story. I do wish there had been more of a progression with the way they got together, by this I mean than this is the type of book where romance is the focus but it isn’t discussed in huge detail (no spice, and romantic scenes were very abstract, so it’s definitely different than what I am used to. Despite this I absolutely adored this book and it was an amazing sweet story that stay with me.

I am a huge Jessica Redland fan so I like to go in blind and never read the blurb as I like to get lost in the pages and watch the story unfold without knowing anything.

Good to hear about past characters from Hedgehog Hollow.

I absolutely loved this book. Not only is this a wonderfully brilliant storyline, but the characters are so good. I loved Zara and I think Harrison was my favourite character.

There are some tricky to navigate topics in this book around relationships and family and they were navigated brilliantly, I really enjoyed learning more about the owls at owl lodge. My grandma and late mother in law loved owls and I have always loved them because of that too.

My mum once had barn owls in their barn in France and they absolutely beautiful, we used to sit quite as mice (just like Snowy and Zara do) to see them fly out and take things back to their nest or young.

I also loved the revisit to Hedgehog Hollow and my favourite Fizz. I also love the mention of Harry Potter, I am a huge Potterhead and it reminded me of being a teenager again read the books.

Another fabulous book. Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me an ARC of this and for Jessica for writing another fab book.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.

Great to be at Bumbleebee Barn and Hedgehog Hollow. This is the story of Zara who just never seems quite able to live up to her Golden Boy brother.

What an absolutely stunning addition to the new series! I fell completely head over heels in love with Zara and Snowy from the second we met them, individually and together. They were two lost souls meant to find one another and it worked out so beautifully. Jessica has a special skill when it comes to writing villainous characters and giving them the perfect redemption arc - one I especially loved was the fractured relationship between Zara and her mum. I had a lovely time getting to see that relationship and trust come together to resolve family issues that were long overdue being resolved. Zara is the sweetest character who, despite her past, was filled with so much joy and enthusiasm. I appreciated and loved the understanding she immediately had for Snowy and his family, allowing all to be revealed at their pace and being so understanding when she finally found out the truth. Snowy is a gorgeous character who was really in need of a gentle soul to come in to his life and allow him to find love again. It was a delight to be reunited with some familiar faces, a catch up with the Hedgehog Hollow gang was definitely needed, and I was really intrigued to get to know more about Owls this time round.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my copy of A New Dawn at Owl's Lodge by Jessica Redland in exchange for an honest review. It publishes May 16, 2024.
Definitely not to my surprise, Jessica Redland delivers yet another wonderful book in her library. This has all the hallmarks of this sweet genre, and is not one to be missed! The character development is beautiful and inspiring. The way the back story is a mystery throughout and revealed over time is really well-done, and kept me coming back for more.
I loved getting to learn more about owls and gymnastics. Seriously, this book has it all, and more! You will not regret reading this one!
