Another amazing book by Jessica Sherry!! I loved the character, loved the writing, loved the storyline!

I loved the tension in this book and enjoyed the enemies to lovers storyline. However, at times the plot lost steam to me and made me lose interest. The foster student plot line was very random to me. LOVED the neighbor characters.

Absolutely Loved!! Rom-com at it's best!

Rowan Mackey is a high school English teacher, she's been dating a fellow teacher and head of the drama department for 7 months now. What she loves most about their relationship is that they are independently happy, she has her life and he has his. He loves being the center of attention, whereas she avoids it at all costs.

Due to a traumatic event that happened when she was only 15 years old, the left side of her face from her ear to her chin all the way down to her chest is scarred with burn marks. Even one hand is scarred. It has made her life difficult when it comes to dating. Due to her awful dating history, it's made her not like nor believe in romance of any kind. It's also left her thinking that her current boyfriend is probably the best option she'll ever have, even though they don't have much in common. That their "independent together" arrangement is the only thing she's worthy of and is her best hope for a family with him by her side. She loves to read, he hates it. He also refuses to touch her scars ever, pretending that they don't exist. So after the annual school play which has attracted local news stations, Dean decided to propose to her in front of everyone on stage. Rowan was in such a state of shock and mortified about the attention put on her, that she said Yes. No. Maybe. In front of everyone. When she realized she hurt his feelings, she called out a fake and cheery-Yes! They had never even talked about marriage, yet he wanted to make their proposal a spectacle?

Being it was the end of the school year, Dean decided to go on an acting trip with some guys rather than discuss things with her. He's a runner when it comes to talking about things. So Rowan went ahead and moved into her new home that she just bought; without his knowledge. That night instead of going home, Rowan decides to go see her new home instead. That's when she gets a visit from the neighborhood watch making sure no one was breaking and entering.

All of the neighbors are lovely, except Jack Graham, playboy, romance writing author, and party boy. He's her next door neighbor. He makes it very clear that he doesn't want Rowan for a neighbor. But once she moved in, his year long writer's block stopped. She became his muse.

They turn from neighbors to enemies when he drunkenly says something horrible about her face to his friends and she over hears it. When she repeats it verbatim a few days later when he comes to see her about something, it hurt him that she heard. He had no idea how much that destroyed her. But as always, she had a facade up and nothing can crack that shield.

Jack knows how badly he messed up. He has no problem with her scars, he thinks she's beautiful. But he knows that she doesn't see herself that way at all. His remarks only make him feel ashamed of himself. No apology is going to fix this.

When Jack realizes over time that he's slowly falling in love with Rowan, she freaks out. She knows Dean's ghosting her and hanging out with other woman trying to make her jealous. But can she give up her safe future for some fun with Jack? She knows that she's not his type, it's just a matter of when he gets bored and moves on to the next woman.

She's never been the girl that a guy chases; and she never will be.

Will Rowan open up her eyes and see the truth in front of her?

A must read!!

The way this book captivated me from moment #1, I knew I was a goner for it.

It was so charming, loveable, and smile-inducing, that I could barely put the book down and was devastated when it was done.

This book is perfect if you love a grumpy hero and a damaged female. It is fantastic and am soooo thankful that I was approved for this ARC. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This book was absolutely fabulous! Loved it so much!

The characters and their battles were relatable and it was just such a sweet romance 💕

It did remind me of how life’s important moments and decisions should be definite yes’ or then they aren’t most likely what you want. Even with smaller decisions it often is so, how many times have you not bought a shirt thinking “its ok, maybe I can make it work?” Only to come home and see it in the closet a year later, tags still on. To me it has happened more times I can say!

Jessica Sherry’s “Yes No Maybe” is a delightful romantic comedy. The story brings the reader into the world of Rowan Mackey and Jack Graham.

Rowan is a high school teacher and Jack is a bestselling romance writer. They become neighbors when Rowan purchases a little house next door to where Jack lives. There were parts of the storyline that I felt were a bit uneven, at times, but the author would course correct. There was a place towards the end where I almost thought the book was done because of how things had seemingly wrapped up. When I realized that wasn’t the case, I even wondered “what else is left to cover?” Thankfully, the author still had a couple more chapters left for me to enjoy, including an epilogue.

Overall, I recommend this book. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my ARC.

Afflicted with burns as a teenager, teacher Rowan Mackey has not found dating the easiest. When her boyfriend proposes to her in front of a large audience, her immediate response is ‘yes, no, maybe’, which does not go well. Longing for a safe, quiet life with Dean and believing his “independent together” arrangement is her best hope for companionship and a family, Rowan buys the perfect little house to fix things. Rowan finds herself sharing a property line with Jack Graham, a bestselling romance writer whose partying lifestyle makes him her next-door nemesis. Whilst Jack makes it clear that he doesn’t want a new neighbour, he finds his clashes with Rowan end his year-long writer’s block. As they spend time together, they find a connection which might be worth pursuing.
A slow burn romance between two very great characters. I so enjoyed seeing how their relationship grew the more time they spent together. Whilst Jack appeared at first to be so different from Rowan, together they brought out the best in each other.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I can always count on this author to give a heart felt story full of passion and emotion. This is a book has it all! Small town vibes, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine and found family. I’m not sure how she keeps doing it but her books are always a 5 star read for me. Loved it!

My measure for a good book is one that keeps me up to finish reading it. Yes No Maybe was definitely one of those books. After Rowan doesn't effusively say yes to a public marriage proposal (that she doesn't want and anyone who knows her should know that she wouldn't want one), she buys the house of her dreams while her boyfriend/would-be fiancé runs off for the summer. Her neighbors' lives are all intertwined and they look out for each other in a charming way.

Rowan's facial scars are part of the story and there are varying levels of reaction to them. You see a lot of Rowan's resilience throughout her story and you also see some room for growth.

Overall, I found it to be a lovely story with deep and tense moments without being too dramatic.

Laser focused and engaged English teacher meets grumpy, blocked writer playboy and sparks fly in Jessica Sherry's YES NO MAYBE. While I knew where this rom com was headed, I didn't know how fun and engaging it would be to ride with Rowan and Jack as they realize maybe there is more to them than a boundary line between their houses. I admired the pluck and practicality of Rowan and her small cottage intended to be shared with her fiancé Dean and her books. I also felt for Jack, the blocked writer who reluctantly comes to realize that Rowan is the muse to solve his long-stalled work. So, yes, I knew where the story was heading, but I loved the ride. I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.

*3.5-ish stars*

There were some things I really and truly adored about this novel. Rowan is a phenomenal female main character. She is a testament to the fact that even the people that have built up the strongest mental walls have those walls cracked open sometimes. Seeing Rowan battle her inner thoughts and struggles was so heartbreaking. Jack, on the other hand, was a complete flop for me. I think what turned me off to the entire book and had me so frustrated through the entire thing was the whole elementary miscommunication, tit-for-tat trope. I was so frustrated.

I did adore the book references. Oh my goodness how I loved the little house, the books, how cozy the novel elements were. I loved the neighborhood, the found family. There were pros and cons, and it was an overall good book. If you're looking for a good romance with a great element for found family, an AMAZING cozy vibe, a great strong badass female main character this is a really good read.

Yes No Maybe by Jessica Sherry is a very cute story with lovable characters!
This romance had me losing sleep. I couldn’t stop once I started.
I loved Rowan and Jack! They are both such relatable characters!
One thing I really did enjoy was the message this story delivers. Simply put it was amazing.

This is the second book I have read from this author and she did not disappoint yet again! I really enjoy her writing style and the thought and feelings she puts into all her characters!

This was such a cute rom com! Jack and Rowan are everything! Rowan has been through so much, dealing with burn scars she has on her face due to a tragic incident. She is use to the stares and the judgement. Enter Jack her neighbor, she is expecting him to make comments but he doesn’t and she does not know how to deal. We need to add Jack to the list of book boyfriends. He may be grumpy but as we get to know him more and get to know his story more everything is pieced together. He helps build Rowan’s confidence and helps her be more comfortable with her scars and not hide them. He shows Rowan her worth and that she should not settle for a man who leaves her after fumbling her answer to her proposal. Jack was just everything and I could go on and on about him but I won’t haha I definitely recommend this book!

What to expect:
Neighbors to friends to lovers
Opposites Attract
Found Family
Slow Burn

This got me feeling like typing up a good old long review. So let's get it!

Ok, so this one was one for the girls like me that enjoy reading books that are as sweet as 🧁.

So here’s the story, a quirky high school English teacher with a heart as big as the moon 🌔and scars from a past she's still learning to live with. Then you have Jack, the grumpy yet secretly mushy bestselling author next door. 📚

From the moment Rowan and Jack's paths crossed, I was hooked. 🎣 I even managed to get over Rowan’s name (she shares the name of a uni mean girl). Their chemistry and banter (I never use that word but here, it seems quite appropriate) had me smiling from ear to ear, and I annoyed my husband a few times while he was playing video games by reading a few extracts. Even HE smiled a lil bit even though erm... erm.…I made him lose his game 😂.

But anyway, it wasn't just their love story that stole my heart and made me smile. It was the characters! From the nosy neighbours to the cute animals…what more could I have asked for? 🤗

As my previous read (that was dystopia btw), this book took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions but not for the same reasons. I wasn’t throwing my book violently on the floor because of ENDLESS unnecessary fighting here, no, here, the rollercoaster was pleasant. It was the kind of experience you remember years later because you remember all the nervous giggles you had at the top of the ride, and not because you threw up movie-style on your crush. (👀). Rowan had a beautiful journey from self-doubt to self-love, and through that, Jack, of course, was THE ultimate book boyfriend with his kinda cheesy but sweet words and unexpectedly soft heart. I kinda felt like I was cheating on hubby by fantasising on him.

But it wasn't just the romance, of course. I’d have been bored otherwise. I enjoyed the way Jessica tackled insecurities to rebuilding broken relationships and teaching resilience. Not dissimilar to Lynn Painter, Jessica Sherry has a way with words that feels somewhat comforting. It feels like a warm hug which…I’m not gonna lie, I needed that after my last book that will haunt me for a while.

This one is for the hopeless romantics and lovers of modern romance stories. A great palate cleanser with all the common modern tropes you find in contemporary romance like opposites attract, found family, friends to lovers etc, etc. No fake dating here and THANK GOD. I think I’m suffering from a “fake dating” overload. It’s EVERYWHERE.

Another good read that I enjoyed so much, that I finished it in a day. Yay. ☺️

So, to Netgalley and Jessica Sherry, I say thank you for this adorable ARC! 🌸💖

This was my first ever ARC read and I couldn’t ask for a better first! I adore this book from the grumpy x sunshine, next door neighbors, found family, small town tropes to the two person POVs and short chapters. The chapters were the perfect length making “one more chapter” turn into multiple more chapters read at a time. The book kept my interest all the way through and was the perfect burn speed.

The story follows Rowan Mackey and Jack Graham. Rowan is a high school English teacher and Jack is a famous romance novelist. Rowan isn’t one for being in the spotlight and is thus put into an awkward position after being proposed to in a very public way. After her awkward, up-in-the-air response, her boyfriend, Dean, leaves for the summer to follow his dreams of becoming an actor, leaving them in limbo. Rowan moves into her first house in a very close knit neighborhood of eclectic souls and next door to Jack who is the moody and broody romance writer. The personalities of the neighbors truly bring extra joy to this story and really adds to the already great storyline. This book is not only a beautiful romance novel but also brings depth as both Rowan and Jack face past traumas that have molded them into who they are.

Yes No Maybe will be published tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30th. Do not sleep on this book! It is definitely one of my favorite books that I’ve read this year and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to ARC read it!

What a cute rom-com! I love Jack the moody play-boy author. The books he wrote sound like something that I need to read. And Rowan sounds like someone I need to be besties with. Such a funny and quick read! It was the perfect slow burn with a great ending.

I really enjoyed reading Rowan's story. I read it in a day. Rown is a strong female lead with visible and invisible scars. Reading about her relationship with Dean and then her relationship with Jack was fantastic. I love that she is a teacher looking for ways to inspire her students. I really enjoyed the little neighborhood and its people. Rowan's family is also a nice bonus. Highly recommend reading this one!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for advanced copy, and I give my review freely

I received an ARC of this book, my first from the author, and it was stellar! I adored getting to know Rowan, her past struggles and trauma, the strength, love, and such giving ways that she embodies now, and the joy with which she teaches and supports those in need. Then we have the sexy romance writer playboy Jack, who has gone through his own painful past of loss and still leaning to cope. Bring in the colorful cast of the neighborhood, an angst teen, and some family both found and by blood, and this group brings together such love, support, joy, and hilarity that you can’t help but wish you lived amongst them too, endlessly hearing the refrain of “Vernon, no.” I loved this tale of finding yourself and knowing your worth—and most importantly fighting for what you deserve. Both Jack and Rowan tackle their own traumas and coping mechanism together and themselves, and it’s not an easy or straightforward journey, but one so worth it in the end! Filled with poignant moments, beautiful words, and a heck of a lot of clumsiness, mistakes, and mistaken deeds, this one will keep you wanting more and believing in love, whether that’s a new thing or a strengthening of your belief. And at the center of it all is not just romantic love, of which I couldn’t get enough, but the love of those who matter to you and those who need it most. The ending was so sweetly perfect, too!! So good!

This was definitely my idea of a perfect romance book. The fmc, Rowan, is the type of woman I would want to be friends with. Her past trauma broke my heart, I just wanted to wrap her up in a big hug and tell her that she's worth it. The mmc, Jack, is totally swoon worthy, and I loved how much he helped the people he cares about. Everyone that lives in their neighborhood was a delight. and full of found family charm. Once I starting reading this book I couldn't put it down. I can't even gush about it properly because everything I want to say is a spoiler! (LOL) I would recommend this book to anyone that is a fan of sweet, slow burn romance, that has a little spice. I'm going to buy this in paperback as soon as it's available, that's how much I adored it. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Jessica Sherry for the eARC!
