I was completely engaged in this book from start to finish! I loved Morgan’s return to Camelot and how she helps her friends and the kingdom overcome the peril Arthur has put them in. And the evolving relationships that are introduced between her and her extended family! Cannot wait to read Book four and see how it continues!!

This series really does have a special place in my heart, the 1st & 2nd book had me in a chokehold but I devoured this 3rd book & im finding myself running into the next book already…I’m so excited but also quite sad going into this 4th ( and final- I think ) book 🥲 I’m not ready for it to be over.

You fall in love with characters you weren’t totally sure in- personal opinion I quite liked orcades anyway 🥲 but I liked her that little bit more from the scene where her & Morgan talk about the prophecy! Would highly recommend this series, it’s the first series in a while where I’ve literally not been able to put it down unless I’m going between the books!

Let me start off by saying, I enjoyed this book. The plot is getting more and more interesting as the series continues. Like my last review, I still didn’t agree with Morgan’s decision and loathe the “forced separation” trope. After all was said and done, it was ok because it was necessary to bring the next step of the plot forward but it still bothered me enough to not give it five stars. Looking forward to the next and final book in the series!

This series just gets better and better.

Morgan returns to Camelot in a portal only to find the city in chaos. Her brother, King Arthur, has been starving his people and living like a King, while his army is fighting a losing war. Kaye, her younger brother, has been sent to the front lines of battle to boost morale. Arthur now has Excalibur in his possession, given to him by his new pregnant Queen who is really Morgan's sister, Orcades, in disguise as a mortal. The sisters work together to try to take down the manic King. According to a prophesy, Arthur's heir will kill the King of all King's, that would include Arthur and the sisters' real father, Golorius Le Faye.

Meanwhile back in Myntra, Draven is feeling sorry for himself. His wife left him and he hasn't eaten or slept in weeks. With the help of Odessa, he realizes that this war was no coincidence. The Fae are involved with this war. He then assembles an army and goes to join his wife in battle.

Every night Morgan and Draven meet in their dreams where their mate bond finally snaps into place, linking them forever. Morgan realizes that she never should have left without him because they are stronger together. She also realizes that she truly loves him.

When Arthur's General takes a sick interest in Morgan, who is now a spy for the resistance, she finds out who is actually behind the scenes; her real father. After Orcades delivers her baby, her dying words to Morgan were to beware of their father. He's been searching the world for Morgan, he wants to use her.

Now Draven and Morgan will travel and confront her father. They need to find the grail that Rychel gave him and destroy all 3 objects to finally have peace. But everyone knows it won't be easy.

A must read series!!

Book 3 in the Blood of a Fae series is a classic, “rebel faction is trying to take down the king” story, complete with spies, traitors, and plenty of evil. Of the four this was my least favorite - I still enjoyed the story, but the POV switching was a little weird and felt unnecessary - I would have preferred she stick to the two main characters, instead of throwing in additional one-off POVs from other characters.

Definitely check the trigger warnings, especially those of you who are parents - there’s some violence near the end of the book that is terrible and seems gratuitous and unnecessary. The author included a note at the end of the book explaining its role in the Arthurian legend and why she included it, but even so the more sensitive among us may prefer to skip that portion.

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I have grown quite fond of Morgan, and I’ve loved watching her come into her own. She went from being so ashamed of Draven to being proud of being with him. We learn a lot about Pendrath and their motives in this book and it really helps set up for the final installment!

Empress of Fae (Blood of a Fae book3) by Briar Boleyn is an enemies to lovers, fantasy romance. Oh how like this series. Each novel gets better as we get closer to the end game. My only complaint is most of this book Draven and Morgan are separated. This book spends a lot of time focusing on the development of power. Morgan continues to learn hers and grow into who she is to be. We also see the power of the bond between her and Draven and we as it grows even as they are separated. It’s a revelation for them that they can not live apart and need each other.

Every time I peeled back a layer or answered a question a new one popped up. The author wrote such an intricate and interesting story. It keeps the reader invested from beginning to end. I definitely recommend this and I am jumping into book 4 now.

This was another dramatic twist in the plot, I’d say it is similar to the blood and ash series but I find the lore and plot easier to follow. I appreciate how the story is built up and not rushed.

An entertaining and satisfying to the end to lead into for fourth book. Despite one or two plot weaknesses, this was an exciting and action-packed story.

Before starting this book, all I could think about was what was next for Morgan and Draven. I'm glad that this book picks right up after book one.

After book one ended, I knew Draven was up to something, and everything was eventually explained. The relationship that is grown between Morgan and Draven is enemies to fake dating to enemies but also lovers. Haha.

My favorite parts were the trails that were help and Morgan's time with Nightclaw! I do wish we got more training time for Morgan with her powers as well as with Nightclaw.

I did not see the ending being what it was and what it was, was sad.. what a cliffhanger..

Legends of Camelot, but make it fae!

Holy Guacamoly.

I keep repeating myself, but this series is fantastic.
Where book two ended with the cliffhanger, the third book picks up immediately.

Morgan is back at Camelot and she is facing her worst nightmare coming true, her brother Arthur is completely off the rails and so a rebellion against the rulership begins, as well as the desperate attempt to keep her other brother safe.

There was one thing, one plot twist for me that I already have given up on, that the end of book two already implied but I can't even begin to describe how I squaled when it was confirmed.

We also finally get introduced to character from the saga that I was dying to be brought in.

With every passing page, I fall more and more in love with Draven and Morgan, their dynamic, their character development, the development of the story.


I stand by what I said many times before, for fans of ACOTAR who also enjoy the world and myths of Camelot? This is your read.

Loved reading the exciting and entertaining third book in the series. After Morgan disappears, she meets with her friends and decides to be a spy in her evil brother's court. Meanwhile, Draven is devastated the love of his life and mate is gone. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of action and romance, and a must read riveting series. Can't wait to read the next book in the series by the amazing and awesome author, Briar Boleyn!

Ich mochte die Protagonistin Morgan auch hier wieder sehr gerne. Sie war zu keinem Zeitpunkt irgendwie nervig oder ihre Handlungen nicht nachvollziehbar für mich. Ich liebe Bücher mit starken Protas! Toller Schreibstil, super Handlung und ganz tolles Worldbuilding!

An Arthurian legend retelling with a twist. Love these types of books, magic, morally grey MMC, enemies to lovers, romantasy. Slow burn to start that gradually builds the spice with each book. I devoured the first 3 books in 3 days, the storyline with plot twists, the characters-good and evil, loved every page of this series and can't wait for the final instalment Knight of the Goddess. Highly recommend.

I think this series is only getting stronger as the books go on. At the beginning of Empress of Fae I wasn't loving the multiple point of views, but as the story progressed, it was a great way to stay connected with both Morgan and Draven, and their separate experiences. I really enjoyed the overall story of this third book and I thought the characters all played a significant role throughout. This book, like the first two, had an ending that felt a bit rushed, but other than that I thought the pacing was natural. One of my issues with the series overall is the continued negative experiences of SA between Morgan and other male characters. I believe this is an important and large issue, however for it to be something that is added into almost every relationship she has with any major male character, it feels a bit overwhelming. I think a character can be a villain and seen as evil without always having to commit the same crimes.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to finishing out the series with Knight of the Goddess!

Just when I thought King Arthur might redeem himself into a hero worth cheering for he does something foul. Morgan is running away from her duties in Myntra. Draven refuses to be left behind. Can Morgan stop Arthur? Will Morgan and Draven unite? Find out in Empress of Fae.

I've really tried with this series, but I think it's just not for me. I am not finding it enjoyable and felt myself get annoyed at many of the characters throughout.
