Wow—what an incredible journey this final installment turned out to be!

The world-building completely blew me away. There’s so much depth and richness that I hadn’t anticipated, and the twists? Absolutely jaw-dropping. Just when I thought I had things figured out, another truth would unravel and leave me stunned.

The ending was definitely bittersweet. The weight of sacrifice and the number of heartbreaking losses made it an emotional rollercoaster—one in particular hit me hard and left me in pieces.

But alongside the sorrow, there’s so much beauty to hold onto: enduring love, the comfort of chosen family, and the kind of friendship that stays with you. Watching Morgan—and the rest of the characters—grow and evolve was such a rewarding experience.

It’s hard to say goodbye to this world, but I feel so lucky to have lived in it for a little while.

Huge thanks to NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for letting me be part of this unforgettable adventure!

Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn is a captivating conclusion to the series that delivers plenty of action, emotion, and rich worldbuilding. While I’ll admit the series did lull a bit in the middle, this final instalment definitely picked up the pace and left me thoroughly satisfied.

Boleyn’s ability to weave complex characters with political intrigue and mythic elements shines here, and the stakes feel higher than ever. The protagonist’s journey is compelling, with emotional depth and growth that kept me invested right to the last page.

The world itself is vivid and immersive, full of magic and tension that add to the story’s intensity. Despite some earlier pacing issues, the strong finish and satisfying resolutions made this a rewarding read overall.

Fans of dark fantasy with layered storytelling will find a lot to love here. I’m really glad I stuck with the series—it was well worth it.

4,5 stars rounded up.

Finishing a series is always so bittersweet, and this series has been close to my heart for several reasons. This book was a great ending to an epic adventure, Briar managed to wrap Morgan and Dravens story up beautifully.

There are definitely some hurts in this book, but also a lot of beauty and love. I giggled, I kicked my feet, I had tears in my eyes, I was disgusted, so many feels. Which is the best kind of book, isn't it? Briar Boleyn has a way of writing that makes you want to just devour everything in one sitting. It was hard putting this one down.

This series is packed full of action, heartbreak, character growth, pain, love and all of our favorite tropes. Like fated mates, hidden identity, animal companions, magic, quests, a stabby heroine, found family, some delicious spice, who did this to you?, slow burn, and more!

The battlecats and the owl (hehe) will forever be my favorites.

Thank you Briar for letting me be a part of this journey by providing me with ARCs and welcoming me to the street team.

Knight of the Goddess had me in a chokehold from page one 😮‍💨⚔️

This book is dark, emotional, and so addicting. The tension?? Immaculate. The romance?? Angsty, forbidden, and absolutely delicious 😩🔥. We get a deeper look into the world, the gods, and the fallout of everything that’s come before—and it’s just nonstop drama, danger, and desire.

The FMC is a full-on goddess in the making—powerful, vulnerable, and not taking anyone’s crap 👑✨ And Draven ?? 🙌🥵 If you’re into the protective, tormented, “I’ll burn the world for you” type… buckle up 🖤

This book hurt in the best way. Obsession-level read. I need therapy! 😭💀

Thank you to the author and Netgalley for an eARC of this series!🙌❤️🥵 It’s easily become one of my favorites!

Utterly Addictive and Emotionally Gripping!

Briar has done it again! This is the fourth book in the series and I again found myself not being able to put it down! This book had everything I love, intense emotion, sizzling chemistry, high-stakes danger, and characters that absolutely own every page they’re on.

The dynamic between the characters is amazing! The tension, the angst, the tenderness, it’s all so well-balanced and believable. Watching their relationship evolve felt like riding a rollercoaster in the best way possible. This book knows exactly how to tug at your heart while keeping you desperate for more. This book continued to tug at all my emotions! I am not sure how she does it but Briar if gifted when it comes to weaving romance and fantasy together seamlessly. Knight of the Goddess is everything I want in a romantasy novel with fierce characters, gut-wrenching choices, and a love story that burns like wildfire.

If you enjoyed Empress of Fae, this one will wreck you—in the best way. I cannot wait to continue reading her masterpeices and know her new work will be epic!

Thank you Briar Boleyn and Netgalley for allowing me to read this!

I'm forever a lover of mates, especially when there's strife and hardship that has to be overcome for their chance to be together in the end. Dark fantasy is a newer genre to me, but it's a combination of my two favorites. Briar Boleyn did an amazing job with this, and the last three, to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Review of Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn – ★★★☆☆ (3 stars)

As the conclusion to Briar Boleyn’s Blood of a Fae series, Knight of the Goddess had the potential to deliver an emotionally satisfying and action-packed finale. However, while the novel retains Boleyn’s lyrical and evocative prose, which I’ve always admired, the final installment left me with mixed feelings.

Knight of the Goddess ♦ Briar Boleyn - A Review

Opinion
Plot wise, this book felt slower than its predecessors. Where earlier entries in the series moved with urgency and tension, Knight of the Goddess meanders through its narrative with a pace that often felt stagnant. The stakes—though undeniably high on paper—rarely translated into the kind of tension that keeps me on the edge of my seat. Despite the impending doom and the quest to destroy legendary artifacts like the grail, the sword, and the spear, the story lacked a sense of immediacy. I found myself struggling to stay engaged, frequently distracted during passages that should have been gripping.

One of the more disappointing aspects of this finale was the characters. Morgan, once a compelling and layered protagonist, began to grate on me. Her constant repetition of the “I have to do it all myself” and “everything is my fault” mantra felt both unconvincing and frustrating. This self-sacrificial mindset might have worked earlier in the series, but by now—with Draven and her loyal companions firmly by her side—it rang hollow. Instead of showing growth, Morgan seemed stuck in a loop of martyrdom that alienated rather than endeared.

Draven, while still a solid romantic interest, felt sidelined for much of the story, existing more as a supporting player than an equal half of the “eternal bond” that the blurb promises. Their connection, while still emotionally resonant in some moments, lacked the intensity and chemistry that once made their pairing shine.

Even more disappointing was the portrayal of Morgan’s father, the final villain of the tale. For a character meant to serve as the ultimate antagonist and thematic foil, he was surprisingly underdeveloped. His motivations were murky, his actions predictable, and his personality lacked the complexity and nuance to make him a truly memorable threat. As a result, the climax of the novel—where he presumably should have had the most narrative weight—felt emotionally flat.

Despite these shortcomings, Boleyn’s writing itself remains a highlight. Her talent for crafting beautiful, immersive prose and atmospheric settings is as evident as ever. She knows how to paint scenes with poetic elegance, and her command of tone continues to give the world of Camelot a unique flavor that blends myth and fantasy.

Still, I can’t help but wonder if this fourth book was truly necessary. As a trilogy it had already resolved most of the major arcs and delivered a satisfying emotional payoff. This volume, though not without merit, felt more like an extended epilogue stretched into a full novel. While devoted fans will appreciate returning to these beloved characters, casual readers might find it lacking in substance and drive.

Conclusion
In summary, Knight of the Goddess is beautifully written but narratively underwhelming. It offers closure, but not the kind that leaves you breathless or deeply satisfied. A decent read, but not the powerful finale I had hoped for.

Absolutely 5 star rating! The world-building is rich, the tension between the characters is electric, and the pacing keeps you hooked from the first page. Briar Boleyn weaves romance and danger seamlessly, making this a must-read for fans of dark fantasy and strong heroines. Absolutely unputdownable!

Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book.

I’m settling on a 3 star because I did not have extremely strong feelings either way, though I did not particularly enjoy this series

I found the overall plot of this book made more sense throughout the book, but nothing really happened. The plot and world was also not built up and explained enough for the final reveals.

I also really wish there was no spice in this book. It gave me the ick.

Whew—this final installment of the Blood of a Fae series was a full-blown emotional rollercoaster, and I loved every gut-wrenching, soul-snatching second of it.

Yes, the ending had me sobbing into my blanket, but it was such a powerful, bittersweet wrap-up for Morgan and Draven. They’ve been through hell, and while the losses hurt, the way their story closes? Beautifully done.

We kick things off post-Arthur, with Kaye in a coma, Medra being looked after by our fave chaotic duo, and the tension already sky-high. I won’t spoil too much, but let’s just say—Morgan’s dad might be the high fae king… or maybe not. And when they do find him? That plot twist? Yeah, I’m still recovering.

This book takes us on one final, wild ride—fighting enemies, chasing down Excalibur and the Grail, and trying to save the kingdoms before everything crumbles. There are losses that hurt, but the character growth? Chef’s kiss.

3 Words to describe this book I’d give it…

Unexpected • Exciting • Ending

What did I love about this book, okay I did enjoy it we needed an ending to this 4 book series!

For me it was a bit of a drag until about 75% in, then everything started popping off left right and centre.

I was sad about Rychels ending I thought that kinda sucked after everything that had happened BUT

I did love how it ended, the black mountain the revelations of Morgan, how it all intertwined and came to a finish - was pretty epic!

If you are looking for a fantasy with a 5% intense sprinkling of smut. This is the one we are all story line here.

I loved Nightclaw & Sunstrike. I’d love big flying cats as a mode of transport that could talk to me in a way.

I loved the character development of Draven & Morgan. I know this was the book before but I felt a certain characters death could have been better (Javer)

Medra - poor baby girl! What a life. Crazy.

Loved it, lots of fae and higher beings. Lots of emotions. Glad I read it!!

I completed the first books in this series but I could not read the final book. The series fell flat for me so I ultimately did not finish.

I cannot believe Morgan and Draven's story has come to an end. Though the ending was bittersweet, this is a story that will stick with me. Thank you for the chance to read this, I am sorry it took me so long to find it!

The only things I have to critic on is, when there was sad moments it didn't prolong long enough for it be impactful, the wasn't enough Draven's pov and the last like 70 pages happened so quickly like there wasn't a full lead up to the plot twist.

OK. Book 4 in the Blood of a Fae series is done. I am not quite sure how I feel about this one. I was really looking forward to how everything would tie up and come to a conclusion. And I must say it fell a bit flat for me. This series was fun but overall I never really felt any connection to the characters and while I was curious for the ending it didn't have that all consuming feeling of a finale to me.

Knight of the Goddess is the final book in this epic romantasy series based on Camelot. This book varies the most from the original mythology. The quest with some of the series brightest characters was a treat. The multiple POVs also kept my interest. The ultimate conclusion was a little rushed for me. I would have liked more time to explore this new court and the sacred objects. Overall, I enjoyed it. Morgan and Draven's bond is still the best!
Thank you Starwater Press and NetGalley for this eARC!

This dark fae fantasy is a thrilling and seductive read, packed with intrigue, danger, and passion. The richly woven world draws you in, and the chemistry between the leads is electric. The romance is intense but doesn’t overshadow the gripping plot, keeping the stakes high. While some moments feel a bit drawn out, the emotional depth and action make it impossible to put down. A strong 4.5 stars—captivating, steamy, and utterly addictive.
