Charlie's Eyeglasses was a cute story about a boy who wants to be noticed. I am not a huge fan of having the whole book be about finding love when it's a picture book. I like the idea of him trying on new glasses and finding the ones that are perfect for him. The illustrations were wonderful and the story is something fun to read. I can see having conversations after with my students and asking them what makes them stand out.

Sometimes you CAN judge a book by its cover! That’s because Charlie’s Eyeglasses is just as cute as its cover.

Teeny Charlie feels unseen; that’s because Iris, the girl he wants most in the world to notice him, never does. When one day Iris gets eyeglasses, will a new pair of eyeglasses change Charlie’s life? Children and their adults alike will adore this wonderful story with a twist ending.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received this book from NetGalley and NubeOcho in exchange for an honest review.

As a retired preschool teacher, mother of 7 and grandmother of 2, I've read A LOT of children's books. There are millions out there, so what makes one stand out from the rest? This one is a really simple story of a little boy who wants a little girl to notice him. What I love about it is the twist at the end - I won't tell you - spoilers! It's so sweet, though! The illustrations, while simple, are engaging and I think children will be drawn to Charlie and his adventures. Looking forward to more books about Charlie!
