This was such a cute Christmas read! I haven't read any of the other books in the Fool's Gold series, so I am not sure how much they overlap. However, this book was easily read as a stand alone.

There were a lot of characters in this book. I know the point was to prove how connected a small town is (and I'm guessing a lot of these characters were from previous books in this series). However, at times it was a lot to keep up with and felt a little unnecessary. That being said, I loved all of the main characters and getting to see their relationships play out. I loved how the three sister-in-laws really looked out for her. I also appreciated the message about how forgiving is easier than living a life full of hatred. You're only hurting yourself doing that in the long run.

Overall, this was a cute book that I would recommend as a light holiday read.
