This unfortunately never downloaded correctly to my kindle. I do plan to buy and read this though!
Thanks for approving my request though

This was so fun and fresh! I cackled more times than I can count.
The concept was very different and I appreciated that it wasn’t a cookie cutter rom com. Definitely looking forward to what Kirsty does next.
I found it drug slightly in the middle, but still a solid debut

Delphie, who recently passed away, encounters Jonah, a potential love interest, in the Afterlife. Unfortunately, Jonah has mistakenly entered the Afterlife and must return to Earth. Delphie's therapist, Merritt, sends her back to Earth for ten days to find Jonah. Not only does Delphie have to locate Jonah in a city of millions, but he must also be the first to kiss her.
I found "The Love of My Afterlife" surprising and unexpected. I enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters, Delphie and Cooper, which added charm to their interactions. The banter between them was fantastic, filled with laugh-out-loud moments that made the book both quirky and satisfying. The story also emphasizes the importance of living in the moment and appreciating what we have. However, I didn't appreciate how whiny Delphie could be at times or how one childhood incident derailed her entire adult life. Nevertheless, I found her growth and realization that the people around her just needed a chance to love her to be a redeeming arc that made the journey worthwhile.
Overall, the book offered a delightful blend of humour, heart, and self-discovery, featuring memorable characters and a quirky, feel-good charm. I highly recommend this book if you're seeking a read that will warm your heart with love!

Okay I loved this cute little rollercoaster. Delphie, our FMC, although incredibly stubborn at times grows throughout the book and learns to accept love, both romantic and friend.
The concept of this book is so unique and I loved the spin on incorporating romance book tropes; found family, love triangle, one bed, enemies to lovers, taming the womanizer.
I was very lucky to receive this book as an ARC but life got in the way and I wasn’t able to finish it until now and wow I wish I read it sooner

One of the best things about reviewing books is being introduced to new-to-me writers. Love of my Afterlife was a first for me by Kirsty Greenwood. I loved the humour and lightness of this book despite the book revolving around death and trying to make things right when given a second chance at life and love. If you’re looking for laugh-out-loud moments and romance wrapped in one book, this story about a woman who comes back to Earth looking to find a man she met in the afterlife, is a great read as we wrap up Summer.

Thank you to Netgalley, the pubilshing house and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.
I thought this was a fun, enjoyable book.. It has, magic, fantasy and romance all rolled itnot one. I liked the storyline and the premise was so cute but I found the story to be a little too predictable.. I felt the book was a little immartuire and felt like more of a teen romance than an adult one for that reason. The characters were fun to read anbout tand the story had a few laughs that I enjoyed.
Overall. not my favourite book of the year but defintely worth a read, it's lighhearted and fun..

This book was an absolute delight from start to finish. The plot hooked me right from the beginning with its unique blend of romance and the supernatural, a combination I hadn’t encountered before in such a fresh and engaging way. The story was filled with twists and turns that kept me eagerly turning the pages.
Delphie, the main character, was truly a standout. Her relatable nature made it easy to connect with her, and her witty sense of humor added a lightness to the narrative that balanced the darker, more emotional moments beautifully. Her journey through the afterlife was both touching and humorous, making me root for her every step of the way. The way the author portrayed her struggles, desires, and the complexities of her afterlife was both poignant and refreshing.
I also appreciated how the author crafted a world that was as mysterious as it was enchanting, with a rich backstory that added depth to the plot without overshadowing Delphie’s personal journey. The supporting characters were well-developed and added a lot to the overall story, each bringing their own quirks and charm to the mix.
Overall, The Love of My Afterlife is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and one that I will not soon forget. It left me with a smile on my face and a longing for more. I will definitely be seeking out more works by this author in the future.

This might be my favourite book of the year now. What an absolutely magical read. I laughed and cried and didn’t see the twist coming. So so good.

Delphine accidently dies and goes to the after life. There she thinks she meets the love of her life.
This book was everything I needed it to be and more. I laughed, I cried, I smiled and I got angry.
I finished it one day, I couldn’t put it down. It is such an easy and cute read. I loved that all the popular romance novel writers. I related to the main character a lot. Which I don’t know if that is a good thing or not. Lol

I'm not normally a romcom reader but needed something light to get me through. Delphine chokes on a microwavable burger and ends up in heaven's waiting room where she meets "the one". When he gets sent back to earth she makes a deal to be allowed to follow him, but there are conditions. A delightful light read with comedy and romance. You have to love a character who can laugh at herself. It was the right book for the right time and a good read.
Thanks to #NetGalley#TheLoveOfMyAfterlife and#PenguinRandomHouseCanada for the EArc.

This book was so much fun to read. As it turns out, I really enjoy books that have a touch of magical realism. I like to think there is magic in the world and this is the kind of books that makes it feel like it’s a very real possibility.
I adored the main character, Delphie. I found her very relatable. I fell in love with Connor quite early on.
This book was hilarious with several heart felt moments. It includes almost every single trope possible, which is part of the charm (and the intent, which you would find out if you read it 😊).
I only have good things to say about my reading experience with this book. I looked forward to picking it up. While I did receive an e-arc of the book,, I was compelled to pick up my very own physical copy for my shelves. This meant that I went through it to tab the parts that stuck with me.
I highly recommend this story to anyone looking for an uplifting story about life, family, love and some romantic comedy. It is the perfect summer read - or evening the rainy day kind.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada for the e-arc. The opinions expressed are honest and my own.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but what I got was a pleasant surprise. After Delphie chokes on a hamburger, she winds up in the afterlife, only to almost immediately run into the soulmate she hadn't found during her life. Problem is, he isn't actually dead. Through a unique loophole, Delphie is able to return to life, with the mission to find her soulmate and get him to kiss her within 10 days.
This book is lighthearted and fun. It was easy and enjoyable to read, and is the perfect palate cleanser if you're looking to get through a reading slump.

What an emotional roller-coaster! The chase for true love was so fun to read and left me sitting on the edge of my seat! I am looking forward to reading more of Kristy Greenwood in the future!

This was cute. I didn't anticipate I'd get sucked in so much but I enjoyed the grump, slowburn vibes and it was also just really nice to be in the UK. Some fun side characters and a smidgen of spice to be had.

Thank you so much for allowing me to read an arc copy. I loved the mix of rom com elements with addressing more serious topics and themes. The premise of an afterlife match maker was deliciously funny and had me all in my feels.
Highly recommend!!

I just finished The Love of my Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood and here are my thoughts.
The afterlife isn’t what it is cracked up to be but when Delphie arrives, she meets a stranger and they connect in the best way. Trouble is, he wasn’t there to stay so when Delphie is offered the chance to return to earth to find him, she jumps at the chance. Trouble is, she doesn’t really have anything to go on and the clock is ticking.
This book was great! I found it funny and uplifting in that self deprecating way. I loved how clever the plot was and it was so well written. Delphie is my favorite kind of MC. She is quiet and thoughtful and she doesn’t have a lot of people in her life but when she connects, she connects hard. I found the way she and Cooper connected was really special and they healed each other in the best possible ways and he really helped her become something more.
I thought the rom-commy vibes were so cute and so funny! There were some pretty epic mishaps and some of the situations she got herself in. LOL!!! I laughed a lot and I felt my heart ache too. She is super relatable and that is a huge part of why I loved the book.
I didn’t like that she was a virgin, I felt that was cringey (I hate that word but it fits) and she supposedly falls for a guy within moments of meeting and goes back to earth to find him. It was a bit much! She needed more time with him for it to not feel so forced and inexperienced over virgin would have been better. It was the only thing I did not like.
Great book if you love rom-coms!
4 stars

Equal parts hilarious and heartwarming - I was totally engrossed with The Love of My Afterlife!
This book is just all-around fun, sweet, and swoony! The protagonist, Delphie, is reminiscent of a Sophie Kinsella lead, and I mean this with the highest praise. She's so quirky and naive and recluse, but you cannot help but root for her and find her so entirely adorable. Her growth was beautiful to witness, the shenanigans she gets herself into were hilarious and so entertaining, and her dynamic with Cooper was dynamite. I loved the banter, the wit, the yearning and the tension. Also, the side characters, such as the adorable and enigmatic Mr. Yoon, were standouts and added so much heart to this story.
If you want a fun, quickpaced, romantic time, with tender moments about seizing life (which never falls into a cliche!), then look no further. I loved every second.
Thank you so much to Berkley and NetGalley for an advanced copy!

This was so fun! I didn’t really know what to expect and I loved it. I love magical realism and this was very well done, interesting, original and hilarious. I loved the story and how it’s lighthearted and silly but it’s also about changing your perspective on life, grief and finding your people. I am looking forward to the author’s next book for sure.

If you’re a fan of the show The Good Place, Ashley Poston’s books, or if you just love rom-coms, you NEED to read The Love of My Afterlife.
This book follows Delphie, a recently deceased woman who meets “the one” in the afterlife waiting room. When he’s sent back to Earth, Delphie makes a deal with her afterlife therapist Merritt: if she can find him on Earth and get him to kiss her within 10 days, she will get a second chance at life. If not, she will return to the afterlife.
The Love of My Afterlife is unlike anything else I’ve read before in the best way possible. It is easily one of the best romance books I’ve ever read. Delphie was such an incredible main character. She was relatable and I loved her growth. This was such an impactful book and I know it will stay with me for a long time.

What a fun read. This book made me laugh and I really liked when the author mentioned other authors and books in this book. Delphie dies and meets her Afterlife Therapist, Merritt. She is then given a chance to gain back her life again but only if she gets a kiss from her soulmate Jonah, a man she met for a short time in the waiting room. For ten days she gets into a lot of high jinx’s and learns to live. I enjoyed her interaction with Cooper, her downstairs neighbour. I would recommend this book. A lighthearted, fun read. I received a free book and the views and opinions are my own.
