This is one of my most anticipated reads this year! I read The House in the Cerulean Sea 2 years ago and loved it, so I was truly excited to be able to get access to the first 4 chapters of the sequel. I love TJ Klune's writing style and his story telling. It is just so magical, humorous, and heart wrenching all at the same time. I really enjoyed this sneak peak and I am beyond excited to read the book in it's entirety!

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing for the digital excerpt.

Excerpt. Little bitty snippet of the new TJ Klune book, Somewhere Beyond the Sea. We get to go back to Marsyas Island and this is Arthur's story. Can't wait to read the whole thing!!! (Will totally be recommending it once I get to read the entire book!)

*Special thanks to NetGalley and Tor for this excerpt.*

This excerpt got me excited for the full novel! It has all the charm that The House in the Cerulean Sea did and I can't wait to read more!

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing for the digital excerpt.

I thought at first I downloaded this incorrectly but I now see the word “excerpt.” Fail on my part. Fortunately, I’ve already preordered copies, one for myself and one for my classroom library. I think I’ll have our media specialist order more because students will love this sequel!!! This has the same magic of the first book.

When I requested this e-ARC I honestly didn’t realize it was just the book's first four chapters, and now that I’ve read those, I know I will need to read the whole thing. So, that’s a good indication that I enjoyed this excerpt.

Last year I read The House in the Cerulean Sea with my book club, and I loved it more than I expected to. As someone who doesn’t read a lot of fantasy and magical realism, the world of Marsyas Island opened up a special place in my heart. If there’s one thing TJ Klune knows how to write, it’s the found family trope.

This book kicks off almost immediately where the last one ended, and I was delighted to be plunged right back into that world. Reading this felt like the closest thing to an actual hug. We get a reintroduction to each beloved character, as well as the potential for a new member of the family. So now, I have to count down the days until I actually get to meet that new character…

Big thanks to Tor Books and NetGalley for providing this excerpt – however, I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t the full book and I wish that were a little more transparent when I requested it.

Another standout work from TJ Klune! This novel keeps the magic and love of the previous one. It puts the spotlight on Arthur, a much beloved character. I loved seeing Linus and Arthur's fully fledged relationship and the love of the children in their care that they shared. Seeing the mayor and Zoe's relationship blossom after it being introduced in the first book was amazing too. It was an emotional read for me, especially after hearing Klune speak in April about how this was a book for the trans community. What a timely and important book that we all need. I can't wait for everyone to get a chance to read this! I hope TJ Klune comes to Georgia again.

Simply put, this excerpt made me even more excited, and impatient, for Somewhere Beyond the Sea to be released. Needless to say, I will be running to the bookstore after work on the 10th of September, and I recommend that everyone does the same, especially if you have read The House on the Cerulean Sea!

Reading this has my heart exploding with love and anticipation for the entire novel. It feels like catching up with old friends getting to return to this world. I’m so excited to read the full novel, but this excerpt was perfect.

When I requested this I didn’t realize it was an excerpt and only the first 4 chapters. But the chapters we got I enjoyed and I can’t wait to read the rest of the story! From what I read I think it is going to live up to my high expectations. Cerulean Sea was one of my favorite reads of 2020 because it felt like a hug in a book. This books is the same, I can feel it already. A lovely cozy fantasy book to curl up with and lose yourself in the world.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune. I am a pretty consistent mystery, thriller reader but decided to give TJ Klunes first book in this series a try and WOW! did it change my mind on fantasy so I HAD to read the sneak peak for Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Arthur is back and I am here for it! This sneak peak was amazing and I cannot wait to read the entire thing!!!

The House in the Cerulean Sea is one of my favorite books so I was beyond thrilled for the opportunity read an ARC of this novel. The sequel did not disappoint. I savored reading this story and was sad when it ended. I truly hope this isn't the last we get to read of these characters. This book made me laugh out loud, tear up and fall even more in love with the characters.. I loved visiting the magical world of Marsyas again. This book is full of obstacles but you are left feeling cozy and content.

This sequel to The House in Cerulean Sea is my most anticipated book of the year and I was thrilled to receive this first glimpse of a portion of it. I love Arthur and Linus and everyone single one of the kids. From what I can tell this book will definitely not disappoint. It will be a beautiful continuance of the sweet, warm tale told in the first book and I feel sure that Arthur and Linus will successfully defeat the dark political creatures that threaten them and their children.

Pretty annoyed that NetGalley did NOT state that this e-galley was only the first 4 chapters. If they had, I wouldn't have started it because now I have to wait until the novel publishes to continue, I had no interest in reading a "sneak peak". Not sure why this record doesn't clearly state it's not the full novel like most others do on here.

However, this sneak peak immediately brings readers back into the magic of Marsyas Island and the little house full of stories (some good, some bad). I can't wait to actually be able to read this novel.

When I saw this pop up on NetGalley I requested it SO QUICKLY I didn’t realize it was only an excerpt 😂 That being said, I absolutely flew through these first few chapters and am so excited to read the rest when the book comes out in three weeks!! The characters were just as lovely and endearing as I remembered, and I’m really intrigued by Arthur’s backstory. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review!

I only was given an excerpt, but instantly I was transported back into the beautiful world the first book took us too, and reunited with the best children in the world. I absolutely loved the kitchen scene - cannot wait to read this full story!
